I had a friend in university that had men heads over hills for her, and she was borderline ugly..she had a way of communicating with guys - she made them feel special…she had a walk, a feminine energy..mostly on heels..and yeah she had dyed blond hair..After a while I decided to ‘study’ her…she had a sweet sounding manner in her voice, she looked defenceless but at the same time powerful - she would ask guys for little favours. I witnessed guys asking her ‘how come you are single’ and she would reply ‘no one wants me’ and give a little chuckle - in a natural way not forced was funny to watch how they were crazy about her

Tragic that the message of this video is 'don't try too hard to be sexual or sexy because other people especially men find it trashy and cringey', rather than 'respect your female integrity enough not to sexually objectify yourself'. Everything always has to come back to what men want, it's sick.

Madison Brown just made a great video about this - basically Kim is in her rebrand since her divorce and she’s re-branding to appeal to the majority white women and trying to distance herself as much from the exotic and ambiguous box she’s been cast in throughout her career and rather be seen as for example as the exotic friend she is now the Paris Hilton in the equation.

Another productive discussion! Marilyn's public persona was very practiced. She just pulled it off better than Kim. Her life was also more private. There was an air of mystery around her that will always be missing from Kim, and her entire family, really. I noticed that all of your feminine references for quiet confidence are from generations ago. That begs the question, “is it possible to maintain an aura of sensuality in an era where you're rewarded for how much of yourself you're willing to commodify?"
People had more incentive to be reclusive back then. Now, not so much. Sometimes I feel like I'm performing for an audience of few by carrying myself a certain way. Some men will complain about you being "boring." Like *some* (immoral) men settle down with the graceful woman and step out with the fun girls.
I also wonder what you would think about the Fran Fine character from The Nanny, or Mae West, as examples of extroverted women. Because some people are just naturally outgoing and expressive. I wonder what you would say about balancing that with sensuality.

Marilyn was a traumatised woman. It's very common for women who have had sexual trauma to sexualise and almost infantalise themselves. Almost have this little girl aura about them

    • @KimberWaul
      @KimberWaul 17 днів тому +1

It's not really that they infantilize themselves. It's proven that when someone encounters trauma very early, some development becomes stunted at the point at which they had such experience. That's what has happen to many women and possibly her, until they become healed and delivered. I wouldn't know if you understand or believe spiritual things, but often times, there may be spiritual exchanges and psychological changes which cause one to become fixated on the area of trauma- sexuality for her. And men often like such things as innocence, femininity, beauty, youth and that "damsel in distress" way of being, which she had or displayed all of.

So I know I haven’t met a high caliber man worth my time, because I’ve mainly seen men gravitating towards the women doing the most - jumping around, overly flirty and friendly, making eyes, etc. I consider myself a friendly person, but I prefer to share and showcase my nature in a more organic manner. Have a genuine convo with me first and I know my worth and personality will do the talking and then some.

Also there were other women, specifically black women, who had the same appeal as Marilyn Monroe. Those women just didn't get the spotlight Monroe got. One thing that was praised about Monroe was her curves. Something black women as a collective also had naturally but were shamed and dehumanized for. I wish black women would highlight our own women. Instead of praising other none races of women. We don't want to admit it but we as black women are a part of the reason our social status is low.

It is an unfortunate truth that, fundamentally, mass-media archetypes of sexual appeal are overplayed and inauthentic, regardless of the race, physical features, or other characteristics of the "sex icons" we are presented with. Seeing these images as aspirational divorces us from our unique sexual connection to and appreciation of ourselves. Ms. Monroe herself was certainly not in any way "naturally" this sex kitten she is upheld to be. She underwent cosmetic procedures due to being massively insecure, even engaging in specific supposedly "alluring" body language based on some of her insecurities.
Everyone has some of the infinite beauty and sexuality common to humankind. The problem isn't necessarily about who or what is being upheld as a standard, but rather, the existence of "standards" related to sexuality on a mass scale. Sexuality is not for public consumption. It is that spark, that beautiful draw between (or among) people. It's foundational, it's psychospiritual, it's physical, it's gorgeous, it's all-encompassing. Sexuality is about a direct and personal connection. None of that can be captured on a screen or magazine.

Yes, Yes and Yes. Totally agree!
Something else on the "No" list
for older men is: hair dyeing.
Men: Please, just no. Stop doing this. It ages you even more. It does not make you look younger, despite what you may think. Harsh dye against an aging face intensifies the wrinkles, age spots, loss of collagen, etc. Grey hair on men actually softens and lifts the face. Also, a shaved head on men or closely cropped hair is way more attractive and appealing than comb-overs and toupees.
Women: As you age, for everyday wear go softer with hair and makeup. Same as for the men, too harsh/too dark of colours amplifies your age. Natural/Neutral/Lighter looks are gentler, brings light to the face and body and is more flattering. I heard a famous Hollywood actress in her 60s say this and she looks fantastic.
At the end of the day, do whatever makes you comfortable and maybe go more intense for a night out. Yet, for everyday wear bring light to yourself by going lighter. The 'Go Grey' movement is helping to show women just how stunning beautiful and natural grey/silver tones are on older women particularly.
    Just my 2 cents. ❤

My ex was obsessed with his looks, one time he dowsed his hair in my fanola purple shampoo thinking it would make his mousey blonde hair a white blonde amongst other things. so cringey. He ended up being a cheater. But my current partner looks a bit rough like a caveman and couldn't give a single F about his brows etc and grooming. I'd rather an ungroomed rugged guy who's comfortable in his own skin than an insecure pretty boy who obsesses over his looks thinking external validation is everything. I dress up and take pride in my looks but it's because I enjoy it rather than to seek attention. When I go out dressed in my Paris hilton 2000s inspired fits its all for me, I despise male attention, way past that point in my life where external validation matters. I honestly wish that more men would compliment me and be openly flirty (not too open or to the point where it makes me uncomfortable but more so in a way where I can tell he is flirting). But at the same time, a lot of men that do give me attention, they be doing too much (like for example, men go in my dms online, some of them are sweet but then their creepy side ends up showing or some of them would be straight up creepy or over the top). Getting attention from other women is nice sometimes but I would like to get more attention from men. I don’t want to attract creeps though. I want men attract men that will flirt in a way or gives me attention that makes me feel good. I don’t want to be creeped out at all.

Agree 100%. Marilyn was very pretty and everything, but she was the original fembot bimbo template, and I'll never understand her appeal. For as adorable as she was, she always came across as a little slow to me in her behavior in movies, especially in Gentleman Prefer Blondes next to Jane Russell, who was COOKING her in the acting and presence department. Truth is, Marilyn did too damn much just as Kim does today as far as sexuality and the bimbo act is concerned. I don't agree with calling Kim today's Marilyn only because Kim is following a fembot template created by Marilyn, and emulated by hundreds in the decades since her passing, you can't really compare. But no one called out Kimberly and her attention whore, overtly sexual, bimbo cringe antics when she was younger, more natural looking and more visually pleasing to look at. The only reason why she catches heat for doing too much at this late date, is because she's botched now and no longer as beautiful as she was when she first stepped on the scene 15 years ago. Because she's doing nothing as far as image is concerned that she wasn't doing then. You can get away with literally ANYTHING, even cringe ass behavior and overdone fembot sexuality if you're beautiful enough. It's not the overt sexuality that's drawing people in, its how your looks and physical beauty inspire people to be drawn to you in SPITE of that. That's literally the only deciding factor in over the top, manufactured sensuality landing or not. That's what people were doing when Kim first hit the scene, overlooking how ridiculous she came across most of the time because she was an exotic beauty. And people STILL do the same for Marilyn to this day.

My thing to gain my attention from any man anywhere is to see how he carries himself with others. Least in the public eye. If he is looking well dressed and speaking properly, intellectually even without saying too much but still able to keep his composure especially around beautiful women that tells me he’s a catch. He isn’t easily swooned over superficial conversations and looks. He would look like someone you can be real with but still have a nice time even with small talk. Something about his cool calm collective attitude will definitely be seen sexy but subtle. I just personally like it when I see laid back men who carry themselves like a gentleman. Kinda like a David Beckham or someone smooth, suave like that. George cloooney to name another. Class ladies, class is the key.

But I attract a lot of guys that get really attached to me and it’s because of my looks. That’s also why they usually bring up sexual topics early, they are too caught up in my looks to have a real, genuine conversation. They seem to be quick to bring up sex when they find a woman attractive.

Truth be told, MANY celebrities, including the dreamboats who are considered to be the most physically attractive and desirable people around, have the same issues with hygiene. People who work closely with celebrities have long said this is true. It's not uncommon for a celebrity's team to be greeted by the celeb they work for with their hair all over their heads, face all crusty and smelling bad before a big event because they couldn't even get it together to do the smallest of personal care and they need help. These celebrities are a MESS behind closed doors, which is why I always say you shouldn't envy anybody because for however perfect they look in public, you truly never have any idea of what goes on behind closed doors in their lives. I remember seeing a picture of miss Tina Snow herself with her foot fungus out on the red carpet! A MESS, chile!

One time, he was puttin on too much while I was in the room with him and I guessed tht got to her and she put on blast infront of everyone like, omg your voice is the lousiest bc of Serena.’ And we can’t even hear her.’ U doing all tht to get tht gal’s attn. I don't say that to be nasty, it's very evident in her lifestyle and when you look into her childhood. She never had good role models and grew up desperate for a man to like her. She is NOT classier than Kim; they're the same level. I don't think MM fans actually know anything about her beyond her beauty icons status.
