Illmind for president dude is str8 dope .. stop chasing placements and just do it for the love it’ll happen stop forcing relationships as well don’t try to force a square peg in a round circle that shit’ll hurt you. I’m a beginner at beats btw
everything he is saying is so on point. I been working at this game for 9 years now and finally have 12 placements. Glad he is dropping this knowledge. I wish someone would have schooled me like that. i learned everything by myself.
This interview correlates with a lot of concepts i been delving into outside of the music realm but its still extremely relevant regarding the mindset of a creator.
Dude he nailed it , on the essential problem producers all share . Keeping that energy and momentum and capturing it quick . Not getting caught up doing pointless things . Love it 🥰
Enjoyed this long ass movie 🍿 jeez I literally had to go back to some parts, and take note, so much information. Who ever wrote these questions shouts out to you, for touching allot topics in the producer community.
Illmind is EASILY one of the best producers of all time, and I mean that wholeheartedly. He's been in pretty much any lane you can think of for a producer and he's still creating new ones to this day. He's more than just a producer, he's a true entrepreneur. Everyone, TAKE NOTES.
I remember the VCR was the first TiVo slash DVR. Set the timer make sure your VCR was set and TV was set to channel and there's your old school DVR. Shout-out to Pops he was before his time
I sold my first beat for 50 cash to a blood from another hood back in 05. The beat had a dre feel to is and I created it on reason. The drums were whacks but the sounds were dope.
i started physically producing music in 2018. before i was a journeyman in some bands..i didnt sell my first online beat until the BEGINNING of 2021. patience is the key in this game and LIFE
@@bhbeats43 most of my beginning beats were hella whack because I had limited studio gear and was experimental. 20 years later, my beats is str8 fire. I creat my own loops and I have outboard gear. I Haven't started selling online, but once I do, I believe my first beat I upload will make pandemonium. It's hard searching for/creating thumbnail picks, organizing files, and posting for a beginner. Like you said, patience is key, but I've seen beat channel blow up on the first upload.
@@bhbeats43 you use loops? What if other people use those same loops,, would that cause any issues down the road? What's the spill with using loops and where do people get these loops? I creat my own loops with out board synths (Moog, Tritan, ect..)
I'm so appreciative of UA-cam and the internet looking back and seeing how far the internet has come. Gaining this knowledge is priceless and very inspiring 🙏🏽💎🙏🏽
This was inspiring! When he was talking about knowing your “why” and how he wish they taught that type of thing in school, I was thinking like they do actually because my last two classes were on those very same topics!!! “The Golden Circle” Which is starting with your “why” before “how” you do “what” you do. That was the last class I was in before the one I’m in now and the class before that we actually learned the other thing about the “mentor” and the “hero” concept. So hearing it on here again was unexpected and also cool to hear those really big ideas that I literally just finished learning about. 🔥🔥🔥
He is so absolutley right...we all are just trying to figure it out, and oops you stumble across something by turning that dial way to the left...period.
One of the books that talk about that known / unknown philosophy is by Jordan Peterson - map of meaning. It’s probably better to start learning that whole mind set by watching his UA-cam videos, then read the book.
So much insight and knowledge dropped in this podcast 🙌🏽. Love the chill and easy vibes from everyone on this podcast. 📓 is full 👌🏽. Thank you to everyone involved and hope the best for who ever reads this comment 🙏🏽
Some type beat channels blow up with there first beat and every beat after gets 1k views by the 3rd day of upload. They usually have a catchy looking thumbnail. Like he said, there are certain algarithym and techniques to get followers from the get.
as someone who has done a lot and made a lot in the music industry it's interesting to see how many differences there actually is to make a it big in the industry. i've made amazing tracks blow up through my time and there's so much people miss out on simply because they're more engrossed in a single genre therefore messing their final judgment
Alot of gatekeeping producers play it safe thats why music is stagnant rn. The new producer tries something different and get killed. Gatekeeper does same thing its on radio.

Always a fan but. 2009 soundclick was a thing can’t forget what SuperstarO Vybe and Johnny Juliana did for Indy producers.

Most people are scared of dancing , what makes you think they're able to handle being in the public eye "openly" even if you don't like it?
Madlib def taught me that back in the day
One thing producers need to start doing is STOP COMPLAINING OPENLY
You may be interpreting it as such

The part about not finishing beats was spot on. That's the number one thing I'm dealing with right now as far as music creation
Yup, after a 12 hr shift for me, very little time for beats
if youre selling beats a lot of artist like a simple skeleton beat to start with to leave room [even Dr. Dre likes this]
