In China: Drinking beer on the side of the street is okay. Bringing a firearm is not okay.
In US: Drinking beer on the side of the street is not okay. Bringing firearms is okay.
You just need simple logic to see who went wrong.

I asked a person in China about shoplifting in Walmart in Xiamen, they say never happens. Family would loose face if someone did that. A little like Jackie Chan's son busted for pot smoking. In the United States, especially places like NYC, during an opening of a children’s park, there would be older men exposing themselves to the little kids. Then, when the cops are called, they would laugh. Like it’s a big joke! The police would probably be angry that you called them because you would be taking them away from collecting their bribes off all the local drug dealers. I still don’t understand why all these people from South America want to come to the U.S. to live in a shack with 6 other guys and work 3 jobs? I don’t know anything about China but I doubt their government wants to actively tax their citizens to death and make health care unaffordable. For years and years, we were told how brutal the Chinese communist were. I don’t see any police hauling this guy off to a Chinese gulag for 20 years hard labor for filming around the city!

Hey Gweilo, nice video. I've been watching some videos set in the U.S. and Canada lately. Can't help but see that in your background, there are endless row after row of restaurants, shops, stores, all open for business and thriving. People are all walking from place to place at their leisure, enjoying the prosperous community. Contrast that with the West, where the camera will sometimes show a city block with 10-15 stores, and 3 of them are shuttered. Or the inside of a shopping mall, well lit and luxurious at a glance, and then you see the empty storefronts where once there were shops but now are shuttered. This does not even include the really scary places like San Fran or Sacramento, or your Canada's Vancouver, where entire city blocks, whole districts of apartments and shops, are now completely taken over by the innumerable "tent cities" of the homeless. The streets are completely filled with trash, used needles, and human feces. Take your family out for a walk? I wouldn't dare go to those places without half a dozen friends and all armed with machine guns. The worst part is that everyone shrugs and says "there's nothing we can do. The problem just gets worse". Those who are lucky sell their houses and apartments for pennies on the dollar, selling what used to be $500k homes for $200k, and consider themselves luck to be able to sell and run. Those who are less lucky find it too late to sell, and so they sit on a property that has a $400k mortgage and is worth literally nothing because no sane person would actually want to buy into a combination of a war zone and a human trash pile. You should look up videos of E. Hastings St. in Vancouver sometimes, Gweilo. I used to consider Vancouver one of the more beautiful cities I've ever visited. Never again. You're a smart man to stay in China for your retirement. I applaud you on telling you what things are really like in China. Far too many people try to portray it as a backwards third world country. If they only knew!

Perhaps the hundreds-millionaires/ billionaire oligarch vultures or vampire squids if you like, are purposely destroying neighbourhoods (via their bought over and controlled politicians) in the West to then buy plenty of properties at a few pennies to the Dollar, subsequently get their political minions to restore law and order and rejuvenate these neighbourhoods. With property prices going up again and a bounty of rentals, these vampires rake in even more multi-millions and billions..?

Migrant workers from poorer areas of China are often like Central American laborers in the US. They often live in cramped conditions and do hard jobs to ensure that their families back home have a roof over their heads, food on the table, and anything else they need.
The tent cities for homeless people seen in Los Angeles and San Francisco are the result of crazy people in the California State government. Many middle-class people in California are moving to other US States, like Florida and Texas.

All the major (first-tier) cities of China nowadays make NYC look like a hick town. Can't say the same about the lower-tier cities, towns, and villages; though many of these are perfectly liveable, they are nothing like Shanghai or Shenzhen. Even so, if you look in the right places, there are still pockets of abject poverty and sometimes you don't have to drive too far from the city. Though, let's remember that China in 2023 isn't China in 1963. *A lot* has changed.

Guns and drugs make poor people hurt each other while rich people are well protected. The reduction of the bottom population can reduce the government's financial burden. But socialism does not abandon the poor, they help the poor, a more difficult but correct choice.

1:27 is a lion or dragon dance. it's a feng shui a chinese culture that they believe bring prosperity to the business. it usually done in just 10 to 30 mins and that's it.
it is not your typical opening bullshit in the west where you do it to catch people's attention (just like what you stated here) for a week or even a month using a huge stereo to continuously play music..
