I left the hi beams at the factory angle, I think the reflector is designed to work best at that angle. I have an intense hotspot higher in the center to see further down the road, as opposed to what you show in this video.
I agree. I no longer have the car but I would've gone with different style H7 bulb if the housing allowed it to fit. I did love the way these came out being much brighter and the beam was a lot wider giving more left to right visibility.

How did you connect the D2S LED to the cars 12v source bypassing the ballast? Video shows you removing the ballast, then fixing your H7 bulbs. But nothing about the D2S LEDs :-( i have same issue with my Mini, want D2S LED, but unsure about the ballast

Had a few comments about this my apologies. The grey connector that plugs into the ballast for the HID is a 12v feed. You simply slide the pins of the LED into that connector, bypassing the Ballast.
hy. can u make a video fort that proces..i dont really understand ...my car 04 e46 oem bixenon starts flickering worst and worst ..im tyred of buyng bulbs every couple of month after they give up ..and im relaly thinking about this led conversion . can u show us how to conetct the wires? i know these days are led plug and play that conect to the ignitor .but if i have a fault with ignitor or balast , even if i swap to led the flickering will still be there right ? the only chance is to bypass the ignitor and balast and conect to the 12 v as u did . right? @@garbinsgarage
@@HQTTTH Hello. I did show me connecting all the wires together for the ballast. All you have to do it remove the ballast with the 2 t25s holding it on and the connect the prongs of the LED bulb unit the 12v connector that originally plugs into the ballast. The LED kit I linked is meant for this and has a positive and negotiable prong that slides right into the slots in the factory connector. I hope this helps The flickering will completely disappear after the led instal because the ballast is bypassed and the new LED contains a resistor to get rid of the error code

The Led is 20% brighter and white in color. If anything I felt the LED was better in the rain than my old HID
Can I wire a low beam bulb to high beam wiring and still have the low beam on when the high beams are off, or will the low beams be off with the highs ? Idk if it makes sense
What are you trying to achieve? They are 2 separate circuits. Low beams should stay on when high beams a come on. But wiring either together would not allow individual operation.
My fault. There is a 12 feed into the ballast for the xenon. You unplug that connector and hook the new LED to that plug. You are basically bypassing the Ballast
I tried 2 different plug and play h7 resistors from amazon and both stopped flickering but didn’t stop the error message. Might be another that will work but I just went with these because I had them laying around
Did you install the DZG D2S 35 or 80 watt LED bulbs? Stock is 35w I believe. If the 80 watt, how is the heat?? I want the lumens of 10000 LUX over the 8400 LUX but not at a fire risk.
Ive purchased the new d2s led to hid (plug and play) but only works in one side of the car..on other it lights up but after 1sec it shut off.. Do you have any opinion or solution on this? Thanks
Are you saying to swap a whole different headlight? The lenses just clip on. I doing recommend going to an eBay cheap headlight. The stock will always look and perform better
@@garbinsgarage I wanted to just swap whole assemblies to ones of good quality. My stock sets are pretty beat with the wiring shredded from a terrible previous job. Looking to get a set with ref halos already installed but all I can find are led projectors

Not exactly. The double check what bulb your projector takes and find a matching led. The LCI has a Bixenon projector and is high/low for the same bulb
You brought the wrong conversion kit. You should've gotten the High Intensity LED (HiLED). They plug directly into the factory ballast. No splicing, none of that extra crap you did. Not going to advertise brand as theres like 2-3 companies that do it and seems to be new technology. This isn’t the “wrong kit” My kit worked just fine but I was unaware of this option and thanks for showing others. But for low beam only they are plug and play. The ballast delete is completely optional. You can just unplug it and plug the LED pins right into the original ballast connector

Auxito D2S is plug and play. Get those instead of these.
@likits1999 tried them, 2 different sets. Do not work with Ballast Drivers, voltage is way above SWL for LED.

I cut the 12v cable that comes INTO ballast (before ballast chucks the voltage to thousands) and hard wired my D2S LED that way. Worked a charm

My fault. There is a 12 feed into the ballast for the xenon. You unplug that connector and hook the new LED to that plug. You are basically bypassing the Ballast

I installed the 80w. Same one that is linked in the description. No issues with heat. They run Cooler then the stock HID’s did.

It seems like you have a weak ballast problem.
So if I wanted to convert just the factory xenon I would need that single bulb right? Not the resistor?
Correct. The resistor is only high beam. You still have to bypass the ballast though
Try the Auxito D2S LED bulbs. No cutting necessary but it's hard to fit everything in.

The only issue is trying to fit them without modifying the housing. The little h7 I got was the only one I could find that fit

If you mean the flap for high beam that is totally separate from anything. The ballast only ignites and operates the bulb and nothing else
