This may be a result of my old, tender age of 37, but to me Jackie's #1 moment of brilliance is his everlasting love for his wife, Helen, who is going through dementia.
I was gonna say the way he stopped immediately after Cevert's passing because safety wasn't up to standard, and it showed his steadfast conviction... Yours is definitely better
I didn't know about that, that's so sad. My grandfather suffered from dementia toward the end of his life so I know how hard that is. Respect to Jackie ❤️.
Jackies drive at the Nurburgring in 68 still amazes me I mean he won by 4 minutes in the pouring rain 🌧 with large amounts of fog 🌫 on the most dangerous track in f1 whiles suffering from a broken wrist That performance alone is enough to say that Jackie is one of the greatest drivers of all time
It is well known that Jackie Stewart is an Olympic class clay pigeon shot, I was told that Jackie arrived at The Ford Motor Company HQ at Brentwood Essex, for a business meeting, and asked after to be taken to a nearby shooting range for a bit of practice, not only did he hit every clay with the first barrel, but got the biggest parts of what was left, with the second barrel.
Yes I like how Sir Jackie Stewart was calling Senna out on his BS and Senna was just trying so hard to mental gymnastics his way out of it. Senna even apologized later to Stewart for it.

Sir Jackie Stewart clearly is one of the best drivers in F1 history both On track and Off. Everything he did for the sport is what we now see today. The 7th greatest Formula 1 driver of all time and a sometimes forgotten legend. 3-time champion, 2 time runner-up and 27 career victories. Also the oldest living champion! Long live Jackie Stewart!!!
Absolutely brilliant presentation. The selection and placement of the still photographs make everything come to vivid life. The narration is spot on. Just great!
I know that there is no one actually moment, but the fact that he stood alone and demanded better safety certainly needs mentioning. Because of this he has had the most influence of any F1 driver ever.
Adding to that 1971 Monaco race was that Stewart found in warmup that he had no rear brakes. He decided to build a lead early to discourage other drivers and allow him to nurse the brakes later in the race.
The most complete F1 champion by some way IMHO. Sir Jackie deserves the title of champion (and knight!) in every single way you can imagine. Most of all, the relationships he built with his fellow competitors (many of them legends themselves), make him stand out as one of the few truly great sportsmen of all time.
Jim Clark, Fangio, Stewart, Prost and Senna are, in my opinion the five top drivers in history. Stirling Moss, Schumacher, Lauda are around there too.- I would have trouble sorting out a hierarchy amongst them.
