I just recently discovered you through your self-tan videos and I’ve totally fallen in love with your channel ❤️ your reviews are well done, super informative, and I look forward to new videos from you ❤️❤️❤️
I bought this product at beginning of the lockdown, before we knew that everything was going to shut down. I really wanted to like it because I actually found my exact skin tone which is very difficult/near impossible for me. And it looked beautiful on the skin. Anyway, this just didn’t work for me no matter what I did. After an hour of wear time it just made my skin look horrible. Emphasized texture, pores, made my skin look older... It also caused whiteheads for whatever reason. I figured it was the squalene. Not sure though. So many people love this and I wish I did, too. 😔 I returned it for the Kosas tinted face oil foundation and that I LOVE. Super happy with that foundation.
I wanted to love this! But on my dry skin, it just ended up looking matte after an hour- even though i had a dewy SPF underneath or by itself. Also i noticed after 3 months it smelled so bad. But, i realized thats what happens to clean beauty products- they tend not to last as long.
Thank you so much Abbey for talking about comedogenic ingredients. Dr Dray completely dismisses and never mentions these in her videos since it’s not tightly regulated- but the anecdotal ratings are all we have!! Anecdotal advice is better than none at all and using any ingredient at random. I still want to know if it’s common to break out from it, before I go out and buy the products because I’ve bought things at dr drays rec and broken out /: so thank you for warning me about the ilia tint, even if it’s not scientifically guaranteed to break me out, I feel empowered to play it safe and choose a different one ❤️ Edit: please continue to do this in product reviews, especially as the trend is toward dewy everything, people talk more about “gentle and non drying” but don’t think about the oily people lol
Just FYI, 1/4 to 1/2 of a pipette of the product IS enough to achieve the full SPF 40. HOWEVER, it is impossible to see how much that is in the actual pipette. In your hand, that ends up being about a nickel to quarter size of the product. Reapply with an SPF powder over it. Oh, also, don't use a damp beauty blender or brush with it if you want the SPF coverage to stay intact.
I love how clinical and informative this video is. For the record, I have extremely sensitive and break-out prone skin & I surprisingly have never had a bad reaction to squalene.
Omg I was looking for reviews on this product and came across yours LOL I didn’t know you had an ilia review and since you’re my fave make up/skin care youtuber I got sooo excited
I kind of disagree with the coverage that you mentioned that it has... I don’t think it’s full at all, but maybe because I have more to cover. It definitely can be light coverage if you work it in with your hands instead. But I’m definitely trying a brush tomorrow... 😬❤️
I got the Diaz 17 and have been using it for a few months now. I love the moisturizing factor to this too. When I did go a little heavier on application it didn't feel weightless like you described, then I tried less product and it worked a lot better. So I guess its personal preference! So far I like it as a light coverage would give it 8/10 and I have combo skin/oily in t zone.
What powder do you recommend for the tee zone shine? I have Rosacea break outs and need fragrance free “clean” hypoallergenic sensitive skin products. The only foundation I can use is hourglass tinted moisturizer foundation. Haven’t had a Rosacea flare in 8 yrs since I began using it. Also do you have any matte 30 SPF sunscreen that’s good for sensitive skin. I’m highly allergic to all coppertone products. I tend to use banana boat sensitive skin sunscreen but I look greasy all day.
I love this. I think I've repurchased it 5 times now. I dream that they come out with something similar, maybe lighter that can be worn under foundation. 🥰
Thanks for this review! Do you have a recommendation for a matte-ish sunscreen to wear underneath? I was thinking that Cotz primer sunscreen perhaps, but I'm not sure about other sunscreens that work well with oily skin
What is your favorite foundation or favorites? I know you recently did drugstore ones but would be curious about your favorites from Sephora/Ulta range. Finding a foundation that doesn't irritate your skin or cause acne can be a struggle lol.
Hi, Try the Bare Minerals Original Foundation SPF 15. I swear by this! It is a great foundation with a natural look and not looking caked on. They have a variety of shades and your sure to find one to suit your skin tone 😉. I hope this helps you!
Hi Abbey, Another great review but I personally wouldn't choose to purchase a serum foundation just because of my oily combination skin type, especially in the t-zone area and with wearing glasses all the time. This is good to know what else is available. Thank you again 💕.
Idk if you have figured this out yet but it does dry darker than it looks when you apply it. If you are going back and forth between 2 shades that you think could work for you go for the lighter one!
Hey abbey i m confused between niacinamide serum and azelaic acid so can you tell me which product should I use for my acne prone skin cause I use retinoid at night and cant use niacinamide and azelaic acid in morning at the same time🙁plzz help me out🥺
@@parisapoudel4244 I don't see anything wrong with using both together in morning. Just don't use them with the retinol. Niacinimide did wonders for me as far as acne goes. Good Luck!
I am with you on the clean beauty ambiguity but I am kind of tired of must have 100 shades of sheer products. From an environmental perspective… much of that ends up in waste. The makeup of skins in the world isn’t a perfect equally distributed rainbow. One of the things I appreciate about sheerer products is that the company can have less waste as long as they have a cool, neutral warm… light medium and dark shade. Maybe a few shades. But I get it when it is like Doublewear or some high coverage foundation… match it exact. But it comes off as virtue signaling. Kind of tired of white chicks going off on this when it isn’t warranted.

I appreciated your ability to communicate ingredients information. Not all You Tubers do it well. Thanks.!
of course!
This makes my skin feel amazing, and evens out my tone. This has been my favourite ever since I got it last summer.
High five for calling out the "CLEAN" stamp!!!!!
when will it end!!!!
This product is actually clean though, you can look it up at EWG skin deep

such a bummer! The squalane + shea butter combo could definitely contribute to that. I've never tried Kosas but have been wanting to!
I found issues when I didnt shake it well enough! Then it looks beautiful when I did shake the hell out of it lol
Do you have oily skin?
@@shreeya1113 yes, I do have oily skin. Especially my t-zone.

Squalane is noncomedogenic. Squalene is comedogenic

Thanks for this review! I’ve been looking for more reviews on clean makeup products!🤍
To me its really light coverage. I apply it with my finger in the AM and Im out of the door. Its beautiful my skin looks dewy and healthy.
Do you think the ordinary serum foundation is a dupe for this ilia foundation?
I kind of disagree with the coverage that you mentioned that it has... I don’t think it’s full at all, but maybe because I have more to cover. It definitely can be light coverage if you work it in with your hands instead. But I’m definitely trying a brush tomorrow... 😬❤️
I'm seeing comments that when people use their fingers they get light coverage! Vs. the brush giving a fuller coverage look.
Thanks for making a point always on inclusivity for makeup products, my friends with deep skin color really appreciate it 👏
Of course!

This is a great review. Thank you Abbey!
I apply this with my fingers and it gives a much nicer finish than a brush I think. It’s lighter. I’m combo oily and I just use powder over it .
Ohhh interesting!
Can this be used as your only face sunscreen??

I think the coverage depends on how much you apply. I apply one or two drops for my entire face - I get coverage and it looks like my skin.
definitely!
I love this so much. I use setting powder over it and it’s beautiful.
Thank you for another detailed review! I didn't know that about the "clean" label.
I love this. I think I've repurchased it 5 times now.

So excited for this because I was looking into this, clearly not looking close enough. I’m allergic to Shea butter and now that’s out
dangit!
what brush were you using to apply ? thank you :)
Which shade would u recommend for someone with olive undertones?
I love your channel so much! You are incredibly knowledgeable on ingredients it’s refreshing so see. Absolutely love your reviews!
I love this product and if ya try applying with fingers as they instruct like a sunscreen it is more weightless

Definitely. I'm currently loving the new IT Cosmetics one!
@@AbbeyYung Have you ever tried the Tarte amazonian clay full coverage foundation?
I agree that its a medium coverage. I have very dry and sensitive skin.
What brush are you using to apply the ilia skin tint?
Thank you Abbey! I can’t wait to try it!
Of course!
Abbey, please review supergoop cc cream..
It's on my list to look into! I was about to but they reformulated it so I couldn't use my old review
Could you review super goop’s new CC spf product?
Yes please!
It's on my list!
Thanks for your very thorough and i formative reviews

Great Ilia Super Serum Foundation Review, Abbey!❤️
Glad you liked it!

I need to try this out!!
Im purging from using a salicylic face wash, i have 2 cysts on my chin, what do you recommend me to do to get rid of them
What do recommend for a very light coverage?
Have you ever reviewed “Kari gran” sunscreen? ☺️

How do you reapply spf throughout the day if you wear makeup? Is there a spf makeup spray maybe?
There are SPF powders which can be helpful. Colorscience, Tarte, Paulas Choice, there are plenty of options.
What foundation brush is that? Thanks!
IT cosmetics for Ulta!
Can this be used as your only face sunscreen??
I wouldn’t because most won’t apply the appropriate amount to get the full spf coverage.
Does it cover acne and scars?
yes!
I think is to oily personally thanks
Breakouts and thick medium coverage ….. everything I don’t want in a serum skin tint. Ick
18 shades is pretty amazing comparatively speaking, of course.
It's really greasy. Like rubbing zinc oxide on your face.
You probably think it’s full coverage because you don’t have anything to cover lol
