As a guy I'm a novice to foundations/skin tint. Got the ILIA tint today, finally courage to go into Sephora. This video was so helpful. Thanks for posting.
Sorry to be so offtopic but does someone know a tool to log back into an instagram account?? I somehow lost my password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me.
@Brycen Emerson I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I never ever sit in the sun…but still like to be protected. I have both the Beyond C and the Serum tint…so I layer them. The Beyond C took some practice, I use about 8 pumps and pat it on. The trick is to let it set for about 20 minutes, before applying the Serum Skin tint. If I don’t, I’m way too glowy. Hopefully this is enough SPF. The coverage is perfect for me, it evens out my skin tone. I have also been using the creme blush, also patted on, a little powder in the t zone and I am just blown away by how great my skin looks. Not like masky foundation, just very, very natural, and wears beautifully. By the way, I just read something about that Micellar water. Supposedly it’s PH is comparable to the PH of bleach. Don’t put that stuff on your face!
Protection is always great! I haven't tried the Beyond C yet but I really appreciate your review-I've heard mixed things but it seems like you've got it down pat and I'll have to give it a try. Thanks for the heads up about the micellar water-I'm not concerned about the brand I use but wonder if others out there are poorly pH balanced! I only use the Bioderma Sensibio formula since its pH is 5.5 which is in the range of our natural pH and my skin loves how gentle and non-damaging it is! Link to their website here: fave.co/3dsbPP4.
Thank you!! I'm starting with Ilia soon. I love the idea of the Super Skin Tint for light coverage. Im open to the foundation too, but now I'm conflicted bc of the C Beyond 🙈 if the C Beyond is also medium coverage like the foundation, I may choose it and the Super Tint. I haven't worn makeup consistently in years so I love the idea of lightweight serums.
I was looking to get the Ilia soon, my skin is oily but I live in Utah where the weather is horribly dry especially during winter. I think it’ll help to have a moisturizer foundation like this
Great video!! Thank you so much, you explain very well each detail!!, and I was “struggling” with what product buy, serum o the foundation, and I never try Iliah before and it’s not cheap sooo I needed this video haha
My pleasure, Michelle! It seems to be a never-ending search but the concealer that blew me away the first time I tried it was the Uoma Beauty Stay Woke concealer. It's buildable full coverage so a little goes a long way (which is important if you're prone to creasing, too much product could be the culprit) and it's not too matte and not too dewy. My under-eye area can is prone to oil which is a doozy of a duo with my creases and this formula was shockingly amazing. I haven't used it in a bit because my shade didn't match me anymore, but I actually just ordered some so I'm sure I'll have some videos coming out where I demo it! I'm always looking out for others since it can be so hard to find the right one so I'll share as I find more goodies!
I love this True Skin Foundation, even though I have very acne skin. It somehow gives me enough coverage and it's waterproof, I can swim with this foundation on my face even without fixer. But I'm looking for good coverage concealer that will go with it, for bad days with very visible, red spots - the Ilia one has truly dissapointed me, it's not only light coverage, but there is no shade that matches the foundation. Can you reccomend some good concealer in very pale shade, but with slightly yellow undertone? I use the lightest shade from Ilia (Sable) :)
I appreciate your video. I'm wondering though. what's going on with my serum- you keep saying "thick & rich" & although I really like my serum... it's definitely a majorly watery texture (it will run off & drip if you put it on the back of your hand)- that's why it's so dewy & has minimal coverage if any. I'm glad to see you compare the two. I have both & can't decide which I prefer. I think I tend to lean towards the serum with my normal to dry skin.
Thank you for this video!! I wasn’t sure which one to buy and this was very helpful. I won’t be getting the tint because my skin is on the oily/combo side normally. With the foundation do you think I can still wear SPF underneath?
My pleasure, Mel! I hear ya, I definitely rotate the two depending on the seasons since I'm a bit too oily in the summertime for the tint as well. I definitely think you can wear SPF underneath the True Skin foundation! I find it wears much more like a regular foundation and depending on the finish of your SPF (dewy vs. matte) underneath, it could really enhance the overall finish of the foundation based on your preferences (it could sheer it out/make it more dewy or stay on the more matte and fuller coverage side)!
My pleasure! I’m using the shade 7 Diaz here. It applies slightly lighter first out of the bottle on on my skin, but once rubbed in, it adjusts really nicely and warmed up a bit to be the perfect shade. Hope that helps!!
thanks for the review, just want you to advice me which one would be good for my skin which i have acne scars that really shows and my skin is a bit sensitive and dry ,i need an organic foundation and also can cover a bit of my acne scars im thinking to get the ilia skin tint ? i tryed a lot of good brand but it damaged my skin more and more.
Thanks for the review, I've been curious about their foundation (love the eyeshadow you recommended - and I bought), the foundation may be next. What foundation brush do you use? Thanks!
Tis my absolute pleasure 😌 While I've been using my fingers for the Super Serum Skin Tint since the consistency is so thick, I use a brush for the True Skin Serum Foundation. These are my reccs: Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, it's slightly domed and a bit dense which gives beautiful, smooth coverage. I also like the IT Cosmetics for Ulta Airbrush Blurring Foundation Brush #101, the bristles are so soft, gives great coverage and applies foundation so easily. xoxoxoxo 🥰
I used 2 different shades of Tarte Shape Tape-one to color correct and one to brighten. I've had them for a bit and they're the only concealers left in my repertoire so I'm using them up until I find one that I'm obsessed with. They're not the best shades and since I've had them for a while, the formula is drying out one me but it's a steady choice for the time being! I prefer full coverage with just a touch of hydration.
Wondering if you do the Micellar water on cotton pad after you have already washed your face or in place of it? Btw Fantastic video - you are a true gem!!
Hi Susan! It really depends, some days I use it instead of cleanser especially since I only splash with cold water in the mornings these days. Otherwise, I'd use it after cleanser only if there's a big gap of time before I apply makeup since my lids can get oily fairly fast. It's not a necessary step but definitely helpful when prepping and priming the skin! I hope this helps 💕
Thank you!! I feel like I'm still trialing the Super Serum Skin Tint but I still continue to reach for it in the hopes that I eventually figure out my favorite, most comfortable way to use it. I hope the same for you! There can be so many variables to a good wear, especially with a formula like our thicc gorl 🙃💜
It makes no sense to put an SPF 40 in a foundation and then tell us to use another full coverage SPF. Either it’s a genuine SPF 40 or it isn’t. What is your evidence that this SPF 40 really isn’t just that? Yes, I’m questioning your judgement. What are the facts?
I love makeup & wear it every day, but what normal woman has 30 minutes to let their foundation set every morning, lol?! Jobs to get to, kids to get fed & to school, taking care of elderly parents, etc. Let’s be realistic.
your voice and explanation was so calming and thorough. Thank you! I can't wait to try these out🙂

Thank you so much!!!!
This was super helpful! I’m trying to switch to better products for my skin and this video was exactly what I needed! 💜💜
Its my pleasure, Cheyla! Happy clean beauty buying 💜
Great review, very thorough and informative. You look lovely.
I absolutely love the Skin Tint. I put a couple drops on the back of my hand and use my foundation brush and just love the texture on my skin.
Do you set it at all? Or just leave as is. I don't want to get rid of the natural healthy look, but also want it to last
Is it oily
This was a great video! Super helpful and your voice is so calming.
Thank you so much!! I'm so happy to have helped, I definitely needed this comparison for myself too!
This was such a helpful review!! Thank you!! You have the best personality too :) Best wishes!!
I'm so glad to hear! Thank you so much, right back at ya 🤗

Great review! Thank you for your thoroughness !
Thanks for the video. Great comparison. Where did you buy that fluffy brush?
Thanks for the review! I’m prone to under eye creasing too so I was wondering what concealer you’d recommend for under eye circles.

Perfect review! Thank you! :)
Hi love ! What color was the foundation you used ???
I love your earrings, where's it from?
I have 1.75 Cozumel and it is perfect for me. Should I buy skin tint in colour 2.5 sombrio or 4 formosa?

Thank you so much, Kim!!! So sweet 🤗 Ilia girls for life!!!
Hi, may I know the name of the foundation brush you used?
I still am trying figure out how to let it stay on my face, I have a mask all day and it does come off any recommendations?
