The biblical role of a husband was one of the most interesting portions I read in the Bible when I first accepted Christ. I was so excited to make a video about how God instructs men to treat their wives. I planned this video for weeks. Before I filmed I saw a few videos and articles about couples who pray together and divorce rate/marriage satisfaction. I decided to include these finds in my video and tailor the title around them because I thought they were cool! However, it seems that they are distracting from the central point of this video. Whether or not those videos had valid claims, my goal for making this video was not to share those videos or articles. I am glad I got to share the beautiful role of a husband laying down his life daily for his wife in this video, and I am removing the videos and articles I shared to take away from the purpose of filming this.

Your story made me cry. Thank you so much for your content. Just like you I spent all my life denying God and last year I finally surrendered. I'm from a non-believing family also live in a predominantly muslim country so for me personally I have to hide not to disrupt the "peace". I've been trying to learn more about God's word and decided to watch your video, for some reason every time I watch something to learn about God it makes me cry. So with tears in my eyes I want to thank you and encourage you to keep making content about your journey!

I came to your channel from your major depression video which caught my eye after suffering deeply with bipolar, bpd and depression since I was a child. Last year I found my relationship with Christ and prayed my partner could open his heart and have the same, and I couldn't believe that 1 month later he did a complete 360 and found Christ too, He answered. We were both involved with new age indoctrination before this. Keep up the great content 🤎

I am an atheist and disagree with a lot of Christian beliefs, but I definitely think that there is something to be said about communication and quality time to keep a relationship going long term like another comment said (similar to the effect of prayer these videos discuss). Just wanted to share my thoughts, all love! With all of that, I wanted to say I loved your videos for many years and am happy you and your husband are having a wonderful marriage!

I’ve been struggling a lot still and this video made me cry so much because it gave me hope again. I’ve re-committed to Christ so many times and been struggling with a difficult relationship for a long time that I recently ended, but haven’t been able to move on from yet. This video made me cry so much because it reminded me that it’s not too late to come back to Christ and that there is hope for me!

What an honor to see you find yourself in Christ Alana. Been watching you for years, and I can't tell you how happy I am for you. What you said about love being a feeling is spot on. When love is based on feelings alone, the moment that feeling isn't there anymore, we fall out of love. But real love is a commitment to honor your spouse through loving Christ. xoxo.
Honestly, if you did weekly Bible studies that would literally be SO COOL. ❤

I was so blessed to have been introduced to an assembly as the first Christian church I've gone to. I would definitely recommend trying to find an assembly and reading the statement on their website first. The word 'assembly' or 'fellowship' in the name of the church is what I would look for but if you cant find one, I know some great baptist churches. Again, make sure to read their site first, its a big help!

Hey Alana love you to pieces first of all and say hi to Tim for me!!
My question to you about these stats that you are showing. And I’m not trying to discredit you at all by the way! I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinions. But lots of these are coming from TikTok videos by men that most likely don’t have any real credibility beyond their following are also most likely not stating where this statistic is coming from. So how can we believe this to be the truth if the statistics have been picked apart so many times when each had a different statistic to share about the same argument?
I would argue as that what keeps two people together is communication. Because that’s essentially what praying together would be. Communicating. And who knows maybe I’m off base but I feel like communication is the key not just pray especially if it’s not apart of one of the individuals or both individuals belief system to pray

    • @Alana.Arbucci

Thanks for your comment and I will hehe. The men who spoke about these facts referenced the studies they got these numbers from. The man in the first video mentioned Dr. John Gottman’s study referring to the percentage of marriages that end when couples pray. The creator of the last video I showed wrote in his description that his source was Brad Wilcox. In my video I mentioned fact checking these videos and reading the references they provided. I read you the findings from Brad Wilcox’s study in this video. None of these are opinions and all of the videos I referenced were backed up by research. I also linked additional sources in the description. I hope this helps!

Thats great you differentiate the groups. So many studies put different people in the same category. Where I will always get stuck with the Bible though and would like to know your thoughts is: You say about following God's word, the Bible. Then what about the horrible passages or the ones that don't match with science like how old the earth is, or don't allow sorceresses to live, slaves submit to masters not only the good but also the cruel, stone women who lose virginity before marriage, put to death those who curse their parents, encouraging the murder of pagan children. By the point we need to make so many adjustments because of how different things were back then and nowadays, how can someone truly live by the Bible when you need to be selective to be a moral person and not go to jail for murder really lol? And how can it be written by God saying such non Godly things? And this: A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent. How is a man strong and manly if he is so weak he cant take another humans opinion? I do like traditional roles to a degree, but if I cant question my partner if I see a better way of doing things or just dont agree with, I will see him as weak and not strong. Like, words different than the ones you are thinking hurt your ego that much? Im really stuck in these concepts. I love so many things about christianity and the Bible, I believe in God and think he is the greatest. But I can not pretend I wouldnt have to do a crazy amount of mental gymnastics to justify certain pessages, which means I find it hard to call the book the word of God instead of something written by humas as we are all flawed,

The video I did on the Bible along with Mike Winger's videos address all of the controversial and misunderstood Bible verses that are taken out of context that you mentioned. The Bible is over 1,000 pages. It is easy to hear things about it or read a little bit of it. It is not easy to read the entire book and actually understand God's character.

    • @Alana.Arbucci
      @Alana.Arbucci  6 місяців тому +2

This came to mind yesterday and I wanted to expand on my comment. the Bible doesn't give a date for how old the earth is. Genesis 1 and 2 say "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters."
"In the beginning." When was the beginning? What year? How long ago? Its doesn't say. It doesn't say over what period of time it took for God to form the heavens and the Earth.
The next 5 points you made are taken out of context, but additionally, they are Old Testament law, the Old Covenant. No one is instructed to live this way. As soon as Christ came into the world and the New Covenant was in place, its repeated endless times in scripture that the Old Covenant is over. We are to look at Christ as our example. As Christians today, we aren't told to live by the Old Law. You mentioned women being stoned to death for sexual sin. During the time of Christ, a woman was caught in adultery and brought into the center of town and people picked up stones to kill her. Christ stopped them. He was clear about his purpose.
Clarity comes in knowing that the wage for sin, the penalty for sin, is death. Romans 3:12 says there is no one who does good, not even one. None of us are capable of living a life with 0 sin. The Old Testament painted a picture of what our lives would look like on earth if we tried to be right with God on our own. By having our own checks and balances. Living under the law of the Old Covenant.
John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." With Christ, there is no more paying for our sin with death. Colossians 1:22 says "Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault." We are able to stand before God when we die, and He will see us as blameless because instead of us having to live by the law and punish ourselves with death because of our sin, Jesus bore our sin. Some verses from Isiah 53:
We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all. He was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins.
I think it's important to note that a lot of the OT is recorded history. Just because it was recorded doesn't mean those behaviors were instructions from God, and doesn't mean they were pleasing to God. Those records are also a great example of how lost and broken we are without Christ. That's the best the world gets without having the Holy Spirit and without knowing and loving Christ. They had no way of having a relationship with God.
the Bible clearly was inspired by God. It is physically impossible for Isaiah 53 and countless other scriptures to have predicted the future hundreds of times. There are over 63,000 cross references between the Old and New Testament. There is nothing that compares to the validity of scripture. I expand on this in my evidence video here: ua-cam.com/video/OhllrcrYGgA/v-deo.html
The verses about women submitting that you mentioned are very simple to understand if you read them in their entirety and actually read scripture with the mindset of looking for the truth of what its saying and not going into it with a bias. If you want the spark notes version of what the Bible says about the female role I would recommend this: ua-cam.com/video/H8PFVZgIQ2w/v-deo.html

Praying together could've been really great if my wife didn't regularly "pray" my shortcomings as though I wasnt even there. No individual couple is perfect and it really helps when each partner is trying to understand the struggles of the other rather than play the role of the victim/accuser. Sanctification is a process and no human truly understands the roots that have to be regenerated before many of the topographical changes will occur.

Do not give up on your Catholic faith. I dated an Evangelical, became an almost atheist, until I (thankfully) found my Catholic roots again. Now I’m proud to be Catholic and will never go back. During the time I wasn’t practicing Catholicism I would hear terrible things against the Church (which I’m sure you will hear too) but trust me when I tell you 1. Their lies or misconceptions 2. They look toward people when they should be looking truly at the teachings of the Church.. not other people’s bad examples. I will say there are a lot of Catholics that don’t genuinely practice their faith and lead others astray, but don’t be fooled this is not what the Church teaches! I also went through a reversion, I had to be convinced of Christianity (first) and who was the true Church.. and trust me I’m not afraid to say it’s the Catholic Church. Here’s some channels I suggest:
    - Ascension Presents
    - Pints with Aquinas
    - Brian Holdsworth

Couples that pray together have a strong understanding of each other’s values. They understand what the other is grateful for and what they need to work on. This type of relationship and commitment could be achieved other ways, but there’s nothing wrong with praying together. I think whatever helps people figure out there values, stick to them, and communicate them to their partner is great. If you have someone on the same page you guys are likely going to succeed.

Alana...you are definitely an example of a 2corinthians 5:16,17. "New creation in Christ" as the verse states. Old things passed away..behold all things become new. What an amazing transformation testimony you have been. And thank you for sharing your new found faith on your youtube channel. People need to hear the gospel " the truth" today so desperately! And dont expect everyone to agree with what content you are sharing, because the world does not want to hear it, because they dont want to change their sinful ways to come to Christ, so they will come up with all the excuses and berate you to try to make nonsense of God's truth so they can keep living the way they want. That being said, the ones who desperately are seeking God will be led to Him by your beautiful testimony. God bless you and Tim and thank you for sharing the scriptures and your personal walk with God! ❤ looking forward to more to come. 😊

The other day I saw a marriage coach in tiktok say a phrase that resonated a lot with me. He asked one of his clients which was the favourite animal of little girls, and he said "horses". As an analogy, we women are looking for horses. A man capable of hurting, but choosing gentleness every day. A creature of grace.

Well good for you since you were lucky to mee one. I see none in my country or in the direct region. No believer guys whatsoever, only players and unbelievers. Some of us are no so lucky to meet a decent guy despite praying more than others.....

Don’t give up. And I’m not sure if you are Christian, but the Bible does say that singles is a gift. All in Gods timing ❤️ He has a plan. Enjoy where you are.

thank you for sharing on this! i’d like to add that dying to self is what all christians are called to do, and it is a daily discipline. it takes time to live sacrificially for another person, even if you mean well. the Lord gives us the strength & wisdom to die to ourselves & put our spouse first. definitely something my husband & i are still working to achieve but it’s so worth it

does prayer within thr christian church not place women in an inherently subservient position? how have you come to accept this lost of agency within your couple as the woman? do you believe all woman have this quality, but maybe worldy ones chose to ignore this?

That was such a great video Alana! I am watching you for years and you really seem to be the brighter and happier ever been!! I would like to hear your opinion on this part of the Bible: “Nevertheless do ye also severally love each one his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she fear her husband” (Ephesians 5:33).

I want to devote myself to Christ and find a Church but I have no idea what church to go to. I grew up catholic but it is not for me anymore… what church would you recommend ? Every Christian church is different I want to go to the right one :)

Hi Maddie. I am Catholic and trust me you will find not greater FULLNESS anywhere. The Catholic Church has the Eucharist. If Alana sees this comment, looking to the Eucharist and its Miracles. Be open the same way you were to your conversion. There are a lot of lies about the Church, but I suggest reading St Thomas Aquinas, G.K. Chesterton and Dr. Scott Hahn (super smart, ex-Protestant now Catholic). I don’t want to put us against eachother, we’re sisters/brothers in Christ, but there is a “leader” Jesus left the keys to Peter (says it in the Bible) - Peter then passed the keys to the next generation all the way to our now Pope Francis. I know there has been a lot said about our Pope, but the media distorts what he says. I speak Spanish and so I know exactly what he means/how he means it. I just bring this up because at some point you’ll stumble upon it, but I hope you’re like the seed that grows.. STRONG AND TALL.

Do not give up on your Catholic faith, trust me. I dated an Evangelical, became an almost atheist, until I found my Catholic roots again. Now I’m proud to be Catholic and will never go back. During the time I wasn’t practicing Catholicism I would hear terrible things against the Church (which I’m sure you will hear too) but trust me when I tell you 1. Their lies or 2. They look toward people when they should be looking truly at the teachings of the church.. not other people’s bad examples. I will say there are a lot of Catholics that don’t genuinely practice their faith and lead others astray, but don’t be fooled this is not what the Church teaches! I also when through a reversion, I had to be convinced of Christianity, and who was the true Church.. and trust me I’m not afraid to say it’s the Catholic Church. Here’s some channels I suggest:
      - Ascension Presents
      - Pints with Aquinas
      - Brian Holdsworth

Baptist is good because it is directly reading from the Bible and teaches from there.
