I've met @dangerholm in berlin few years ago with his ridiculously light spark, these light bikes are not my thing, but He is the kindest and most dedicated guy I've met out there! The research and obsession he use to reach his goals are majestic! Well done again Dangerholm!
Rockshox SID SL Ultimate fork would save you 30-40 grams..Darimo Stem, Handle bar and Seatpost will also saves you like 50 grams. SRAM X01 XG1195 Cassttee free up 30 grams.. Schwale Racing Ray and Racing Ralph Tires are actually pretty heavy...I would choose S-Works Fast Trak 2.3 tires front, and S-works Renegade 2.3 back. You'll save at least 80 grams, and tire is bigger.
I think this is the best one yet. Big congrats and huge thanks to show us such beauty and commitment to take lightness further every time. Now i have to go smash some trails hehe
As a mountain biker in the past and a committed road rider these days, i can really appreciate this beautiful bike. Fabulous! It would be high on my list to build sometime like this if I ever got back to the MTB.
Back in the good old days when Scott kept cables out of the headset and the shock in plain sight. I thought I'd own a Scott some day, but not a chance with their current design philosophy.
A dropper honestly isn’t necessary in trail or XC, it’s great in All-mountain and Enduro, but a properly adjusted fixed post can get you down pretty much any downhill in style(as long as it isn’t a Whistler double black or pro line). And as much as weights weenies are made fun of, it is necessary to have a light bike when racing XC, racing a lighter bike on 30 miles of uphills and downhills makes a significant impact on overall time, and when racers are within 5 minutes of each other, that 1 pound extra dropper is not worth it.
Dropper posts are only for those who used to ride a BMX when they were young...Im old school and actually use my seat between my legs to hang on going down hill...I cant imagine ever using a dropper post... nice bike especially to hang on the wall brackets. ...👋
Hmm... Don't know about that. I started mountain biking in the early 90's and back then I'd sometimes slam the seat down. For xc riding a fix seat is okay, but for dirt jumps, north shore type features, and sketchy single track with significant drops I'll keep my dropper.

To be honest u sld have had a dropper post and to replace the weight u can use wireless shifters , ditch the remote lockout , it would remove the weight of cables and housing
The weight of the batteries in the wireless stuff is normally heavier than the weight of the cables and housing (especially when he’s using the super lightweight stuff), but he could probably have had a custom made dropper based off the dt swiss design that could be under 300g
I recently bought light ebike Orbea Rise and with its 19 kg it is super planted in rough terrain. I started to realize, that weight is sometimes advantage for descents. All my bikes are carbon and I was allways wandering, why so many pro downhillers ride aluminium....
Amazing bike, I like it very much. Beautiful color and I would change only two things - put the rebound adjustment back in and stronger pedals (I am 89kg). It will get lighter as tires and other components ware themselves out.😍
The seatpost locking mechanism is also poor on Schmolke's, and will kill the saddle rails , GELu K4 + GELu seatpost + Gon handlebar combo would improve the overall weight and quality :) Hand made in PT 😀
heavy rides i think are the best for building stamina and powerful legs, i used to outride road cyclists with a heavy touring bike with rear suspension, the frame alone is 6 kg and it's aluminium, i understand that this is not for everyone
