Anna!! The first running youtube videos I started watching was Anna on the running channel. I've just discovered Flora in the last week or so, so its so cool to see Anna pop up on screen :)
I've seen this from two points of view now, yours and Anna's (running channel). Bravo and well done :) I recognised some of my running pals in the video with their little cameos. Tres bien!
Love all the running content :) This run looked so epic, good job on getting 114 km! I've been meaning to do a trail marathon or ultra for 2 years now but always had to pull out due to getting the flue just before/not being able to train due to work etc. I hope I'll be able to check that off next year!
@@FloraBeverley yeah I previously did a 14 km and a 23 km trail race, but I have my eyes set on a trail marathon next year. Have fun at the Jurassic coast marathon! I'm not based in the uk so unfortunately can't do any of the races you're doing, they all look great!
Insane!! This looks so fun, congrats on surviving it and glad your IT band didn't kill you! Running my first ultra in Feb so this is seriously good motivation, thanks for this nice and long vid 💪
I love azores! One of the islands from my country 😊 the hydrogen sulfide place is actually underground cooking. It's a cultural thing of how they cook our traditional meal = cozido a Portuguesa So happy you enjoyed it! Ps. You're also kinda crazy 😂
i just checked my watch i normally only count the miles i run but if i add walking as well ive covered 93 miles this week do you think that i would need to train a bit more for a event like this? oh i reacon a normally week works out about 120 miles for me
How much do you run per week? To do the full event I would say you need to be comfortable with marathon distance, but time on feet (aka walking) is great too! When you sign up for this they give you a training programme so I'm sure you could do it with some notice!
@@FloraBeverley hi thanks for the replay i run about 40 miles a week. the longest i have run is 50k in about 3.40 tbh it was only going to be marathon distant but i was still 8k from home and i did not want to get cold legs felt fine next day but i did not have a lot of elevation
I'd love to do this - think I'd want to start with how you did it at reduced distances though! How did you get into this? Congratulations Flora absolutely smashed it, you continue to be my running inspiration!!
Oh yes there are LOADS out there! I was asked to do this one by the lovely Tribe crew, but there are so many so I'm sure you'll find a good one. Threshold sports have good 'entry level' ones! Hope to you see you at race to the tower :)
This is the first time I've watched this and the first thing I was wondering is "is Anna from the running channel doing this race" she filmed it to didn't she?
What shoes did you use/would recommend for a beginner? I’m used to Park runs and running up to 10k, but now we are in lockdown I’m running daily from home across the road and then along farmers fields with public footpaths that are uneven with mud and rocks. I feel my regular running shoes make me more unsteady and the impact Is hurting my joints a little. I’m hoping I’ll come out of lockdown with a new love of running and I can try build up my distance 😀

Thank you so much! Argh that's so annoying - maybe start with a shorter race and build your way up? We're doing the Jurassic coast marathon in May! :)
