Hi Tom, Arizona fan here. Think you guys got a good one - our O Line was an enormous part of us having one of our best seasons in the last 20 years (especially with a smaller qb) and Jordan Morgan was one of the biggest reasons why. He chose to sit out the Alamo Bowl and we got destroyed at the line for 3/4 of the game because the O Line suffered mightily without him (we did still manage to win though, so long Sooners!). Morgan is just a great overall Tucson kid and we are so excited for him and wish him and Packer Nation the best. I suspect you all just gained a bunch more cheeseheads in Tucson tonight!
I’m happy you beat OU as well because I’m an okst fan and happy to hear your opinion I was REALLY wanting Cooper DeJean but we could trade up unlikely though
I'm tired of people in the comment section not getting it... It's not that he's a bad player, it's the fact that we could have easily gotten him in the second round. We have the Jets pick. Cooper dejean will not make it to pick 42. This offensive lineman could have. Our secondary is in much greater need than the o line. That's why we're pissed.
@@jakechecolinski5929 there was a less than 1% chance he falls to 41. He was going first round if not top of the 2nd. I love DeJean, but clearly the league is low on him. Plus we lost 2 players along the O-Line one being a starter and another should be a starter. This Player coming off an ACL injury actually played statically better than before the injury. He never missed a game after the ACL recovery.
@@jakechecolinski5929im also tired of ppl thinking like u. U really think if gute thought we could get him later and he was the guy they wanted he wouldn't have traded back ? So I'm tired of ppl thinking gute doesn't know what he is doing.
This is how packers drafts always go. The fan base falls in love with a couple players. One or a few of them fall to us then they go a completely different way no one expected. The fans get disappointed. Then eventually they turn into a good player and everyone agrees it was a good pick.
Bro at this point, I can’t even question gut. He makes wacky picks that make you scratch your head that not sexy. One thing pack does great is develop qb and offensive linemen. So even though I don’t like the pick on paper, I gotta believe there’s a method to his madness

@@wrydstepbr0_0still, it’s way easier for Love to play consistently if the line in front of him is solid. A good OL is good regardless of who your QB is
Not surprised by our pick at all. Packers are well known for doing these kinds of moves and thankfully, in our case, it’s worked out very well. So at this point, it’s best to assume that like most drafts from the past, that we’ll get few or no flashy or popular players who are projected to be the “best” in their position.
As an Iowa Hawkeyes fan who grew up in a bears household but became a Seahawks fan, Watching cooper weave his way past 4 of my 5 most hated teams was heart attack inducing. Shame he fell out of round 1 but so glad he didn't end up with the eagles, green bay, or any other MFC west team.

Ah it begins...the infiltration of the Pack by my 'Cats. Don't worry, Morgan is very good. Tough, great lateral movement, can play multiple positions, and he's huge. Really happy for him.
We drafted an o-lineman in the first, Gute clearly believes they can develop him. He's also a freak athlete. My opinion shall be deferred till tomorrow,. If we draft dejean, this would be my favorite start to a draft probably ever outside of maybe 2022. If we get kool-aid, I'd be very happy still. However, I will likely be very disappointed if we get neither. I trust in Gute, but it feels like he never puts the largest need first, whether it's been wr in the past or our secondary the last two years. Watching Branch and Arnold both get taken right in front of our eyes is brutal, so I just want Gute to let us have one. We have a ton of draft capital, so I can only hope he lets us rejoice.
Drafting a solid o-lineman can only help Love's confidence moving forward. it shows the team is invested in keeping him healthy. This is literally the best thing you can do for a young QB who is showing real promise.
All we can do is root for the kid. Complaining won’t change the pick and remember how we felt in first rounds in previous years and then the excitement we had with our picks in further rounds
OTOH, if they still manage to get DeJean (or even a McKinstry or someone like that), say at 41 or with a trade up, it suddenly looks really good. And given how the draft went, I can see the logic; they may have reasoned that there was a better chance of a corner falling to them in the second than an O lineman.
The reason they went Morgan over Barton is because Morgan has more projection as a tackle into the NFL due to his size. Barton projects as a guard or center. I think the packers wanted to be safe, since they don’t know if walker (7th rd pick) can keep the production he had last year. Overall, solid pick, and COOPER IS STILL THERE!
There HAS to be something wrong with Cooper DeJean. For all of those safety and DB needy teams to pass on him like that by either trading back or picking other guys in the position, I have a feeling his leg must not have healed as well as we thought.
One thing you can never say about the Packers is that they are in win-now mode. It's definitely a question for a fanbase; would you rather be the favorite for a couple of years and have a bona fide shot at the title or be in the running every year but need a thousand things to go your way?
I have reached maximum copium with the Packers pick (it helps that they haven't made any "worst picks" lists yet). My guess is that Morgan was ranked highest of the remaining OLs on the Packers' list, and there was a legitimate fear none of the top ones would be available when they picked again in the second round with all the offensive players getting chosen.
I can appreciate the need to get the Falcons reaction video out first and foremost before uploading the rational take on the Packers and their draft. Both good videos, and an understandable choice. That screaming street needed it's newest member post haste.
I really thought we go Cooper DeJean/Graham Barton and Kingsley Suamataia with the first 2 picks. Now I hope we get Cooper in the 2nd round. I love your reaction to the Falcons, just legendary.
Unless you trade up, zero chance he falls that far. Heck, I doubt he falls past 39. Then again, he was 1 guy I thought was a lock for the 1st so who knows
I saw people react similarly to the JC Latham pick of the Titans - in one group, most people wanted us to pick Bowers. I dont get that, as line was the biggest need by far - sure we wanted Alt and Latham may have been a reach, but it addresses a dire need and the talent is there
Morgan has what Gutey craves: versatility. The run blocking stats were also sublime, which is extremely important if it's going to be a balanced offense with Josh Jacobs. It's so hard to look at big boards made by people not actually drafting players and make a good determination, and I think this pick will eventually prove that.
Any other Vikings fans with mixed feelings? Happy to McCarthy coming our way, and some work being done to replace Hunter. But having no more picks until R4... yeah not sure about that
The ACL injury is my only real concern. Having a stacked Oline is so huge in the NFL. without one you are screwed, and we have the weapons and the arm. At least Morgan’s injuries aren’t a reoccurring one like a hamstring that suggests an inherent weakness.

I doubt that. We can keep Tom at RT until we find better. More like Walker and Morgan battle for LT and if Morgan can't play there he battles with Rhyan for RG.
@@jamesjeffers7270 Packers want Tom at Guard, and then Center after Meyers leaves, which means they are not re-signing Meyers. I think the Packers will get another interior OL later in the draft to play Guard next year and to just have as a back-up this year, so I figure day 3... but what do I know. From ESPN... Does this mean they'll eventually move Zach Tom? Tom performed well at right tackle last season, and the Packers believe he can be a fine player there -- even a Pro Bowl player. But there are those in the organization who believe Tom can be an All-Pro guard and Hall of Fame center. Or does it mean that they're not sold on Rasheed Walker as the long-term answer at left tackle? -- Rob Demovsky
@@blktom All those ideas may happen. Then again none may happen. Morgan is versatile and should compete for LT, RG, or RT this year. In the next few years who knows? They may keep Myers as well. You drafted the 8th best OT in the first round. Bravo. 😂
This pick was good on so many levels.
Lily is a psychic
I mean Cooper is still available..... Trade up?
I was annoyed with the pick as well, but I realized that it was the right move for them
It’s Walker vs Myers vs Rhyan vs Morgan(RT) Whoever plays the worst Tom moves into that spot
We will draft more OL I bet and then the best 5 will be starters and the rest backups. We need quality depth and this pick proves it.
Now the Packers have 4 picks in the next two rounds. The draft is just getting started for Gutey.
I know that isn’t the case but it’s a funny idea in my head that my Cowboys trade their pick with the Lions just to mess with the Packers as a response to what happened in the playoffs
DeJean is still available and you got 2 second rounders! Go get 'em Tom!!!!!
Man I haven't seen Tom this disappointed in a packers pick since we took Gary...or JLove
Are you going to Detroit?
Cooper is still on the board… we still have a chance. I’ve wanted him so long
The Packers are such ass when it comes to drafting round 1. Gutey is the king of clowns 🤡🤡🤡
There wasn't an OT that didn't have a history of injuries we could have picked up? Unless J.Morgan can heal like Wolverine and Deadpool, this pick suuuuuuuucked.
As a Packers fan from Tucson, AZ. I like this pick. Go U of A.
Packers hosting the 2025 draft was a good kicker. There is where we trade up and draft a wr in the first round. Mark my words packers make a splash at home and draft a wr. Why else wouldn't they pick a wr in the first round for over a decade.
