Hi Tom! I am a huge packer fan and a former USC student manager, and I can tell you firsthand rn that we got a great baller in Marshawn Lloyd. Fight On and Go Pack Go!
I know the national media doesn't always give GB credit but Gutes drafting track records pretty solid. Might not have gotten the people I fell in love with in the draft process but honestly these dudes look good
I love how different this Packers community is on YT all the groups I’m in on Facebook. The fans are so toxic. Bitchign and crying saying fire Gute. They’re the type that think they’re the GM😂😂.
TBH, I also would have liked to have seen a CB instead of maybe the second LB, but I think CB was hammered pretty hard and the LB cupboard was pretty bare, so not the worst.. I think we can honestly say the Packers have no real needs at this point and Day 3 will be all depth. I wouldn't be shocked to see a OL, WR, CB, DL, more LBers, and even a QB taken. With all of these players, cut down day will be interesting.
Packers response to Bears drafting (USC) QB C.Williams with the 1st overall pick? Easy... 1. Draft his backfield team mate (USC) HB M.Lloyd in the 3rd, who knows everything about C.Williams play, etc. 😆 2. Draft not one, but two safeties - in E.Williams (Oregon) in the 4th and K.Oladapo (Oregon St.) in the 5th, who collectively both played directly against C.Williams in the same conference for multiple seasons. 😌
Dude after round 3 I couldn’t believe how happy I was with our picks. Only been watching the draft for the past 5 or 6 years so its the best draft to me so far😂
I loved the second round wasn't big on the third kinda the same feeling as the first luckily we have 8 picks! Today hopefully we can get a few gems on day 3
The only problem I have with this draft haul is we didn’t take braelon Allen. As a badgers fan I had dreams of keeping him in Wisconsin, but unfortunately they went lloyd.
Gute is cooking! We’ve got some great picks while adding two total picks for 13 total. Wouldn’t be surprised if we see one more trade to get a total 15 guys from this draft… that would be insane. Go Pack Go
I mean it really comes down to is stokes going to be good and by the way this draft is going it looks like the have full faith that stokes is going to be back and healthy
After picking Love, Wicks, Doubs, Tom, Jenkins, Walker, and others...I trust in the Packer staff to do the right thing. I like how they have a philosophy about who is right for the team.
The only issue is that we traded the pick that could’ve gotten us kool aid, and I’d bet that Cooper still would’ve been on the board when we picked next, other than that, I love it
It would be very hard to get both Coopers in round two. The Packers would have had to sacrifice picks. And this team is thin right now with not a lot of cap room. They need bodies. Not just camp bodies, bodies bodies. The final number may be 53, but the starting number is 90. And before the start of the draft the Packers had only 73 under contract, which includes a whole bunch of guys that most of us have never heard of (e.g. quick without googling who is Gemon Green? Thyrick Pitts? Ngogu Mbwolbe? Hint - One of these three I made up).
Scratching my head at the Hopper pick, I get the depth pick, but projected mid 6th in the 3rd for depth? After we just got a 5th & 6th from the Saints? Do we have 1st graders filling in in the draft room?
Can someone explain to me why LB was our biggest need? Last I checked we have: ROLBs: Smith, Van Ness LOLBs: Gary, Enagbare And MLB Walker, McDuffie, & Eric Wilson If anything McDuffie and Wilson being the weaker links, but realistically Safety still our biggest need on paper seeing after McKinney, there's a bunch of no names like Anthony Johnson, Tyler Coyle, or Zayne Anderson..(who I believe was signed for special teams specifically..). One injury and we are down bad with lack of depth there. At least with CB there's Alexander, Stokes, Carrington, Valentine, and Nixon before we start hitting the "who are you" yearly roating fillers.
for the most part, happiness is not a good trait after a draft, considering 80% of those picks are out of the league within 3 years. i rather rely on free agency and trades but sometimes, if your budget is not that big you have to use this tool.
Still hoping and praying your optimism in these guys mean they won't be the best as a bears fan😂 In all seriousness "HOW DO THEY KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS?!?"
As a non Packers fan I think y’all did well only two players I think y’all reached on was Jordan Morgan and Hopper, but I like Morgan I’m not high on Hopper at all but I could be wrong though
This has been a very good draft. We got a top rated Tackle before they were all gone and teams began to reach on project guys, and we got two LBs which we will need to replace Campbell and add to our 4-3 scheme. Not to mention Bullard has a lot of potential at safety to play alongside McKinney and then a RB to replace the hole we have from Aaron Jones. Great draft. Let me guess... you wanted a WR?
Happy with everything except Hopper, definitely preferred Wilson here, even with the injuries he was definitely worth the risk at 91. Prove me wrong Hopper...
I like Cooper, but I would have prefered taking DB at 41 (or even trade up a few spots). With what the division has for Offenses, how can you not take DeJean or Kool-Aid. Their potential is massive, and if you combine that with Jair.... I'm left jealous of the Eagles, who got 2 great potential DBs, and probably beat us to DeJean. Once I had gone with DB at 41, could've still traded up from 58 (they have so many picks, day 3 is mostlly depth anyways) and tried for Cooper. So i get the excitement here, its not a bad draft, but when best available is a glaring need and those players slid down to you, you have to take them..... i truly believe they still could've traded up and gotten Cooper
100% agreed. The fact that they traded away 41 the moment the Eagles pick of DeJean tells me he was the guy they wanted at 41 but got beaten to it. They have so many picks they can afford to be aggressive. They could have traded up for both Coopers I think.
@@smurfbate1 yes exactly, especially bc all of the picks today are going to be depth picks, might as well have gone 3 very solid picks in rounds 1 and 2 and then seen what is left in the later rounds. This was a bit of optimistic draft capital hoarding
@@annoyingrat3710 yup. All I hear is how GB has so little in terms of needs. Its not like all 11 of these picks they got will make the team. Use that capital to get the BPA at those needs and use the rest for depth. While I dont HATE this haul I just feel it could have been so much better.
@@smurfbate1 no, don't get me wrong, I think the Packers did well, I just know they sre short on CBs, there were 2 very good prospects in their reach, and they didn't pull the trigger, all whilst knowing the offenses im the NFC North and NFC in general. Seems odd
Hopper is the only iffy part but idk what other type of value was there for GB at the pick. People will say Jarrian, but he’s relegated to a slot only role likely in the NFL. Wilson doesn’t have an ACL. I mean if that’s the guy you like I really don’t know what you do differently. Everything else was a home run.
I cant help but feel disappointed as per usual with Gutekunst drafts. I was in the Cooper DeJean no matter what camp and to see them pass at 25 and have every chance to move up and grab him in R2 and not? Bad, bad taste left in my mouth that left any other move moot. Bullard is a solid consolation prize but thats all he is, second fiddle to DeJean. I refuse to get excited by LBs anymore, so while I liked Edgerrin i wont be hurt again there. Lloyd i wont have faith in til he shows he can hold onto tge football. I also have zero clue who the other LB was. I dont think i heard or saw his name mentioned ever in this process. While these players may turn out good, i am constantly left underwhelmed after every Gutekunst draft.
@@bradyarmstorng4162 they passed on him once. He got picked right before they picked again, they'd have had to have traded up. Its telling that immediately after the Eagles made that pick of DeJean before it was announced that GB was gonna take DeJean but got beat to it by Philly. Which is why I hate that Gute wasn't aggressive with his amount of draft capital to move up for DeJean instead of waiting. They were clearly going to draft him but instead sat on there hands and let the Eagles steal him right in front of them.
@@devinduncan2830 Our top need is WR, they move back into the 2nd, let three WRs get picked in front of them and draft the slowest WR at the combine who had one good but not great year. Worthy was a luxury pick for KC but Pearsall will be a stud. Cooper DeJean would have been a good pick too.

As a Mizzou fan, have fun with Ty’ron Hopper lol. Hopper was arguably our most important defensive player this past season besides Robinson.
I hope night 3 has more secondary picks cuz we are still a little questionable there but today's picks have me excited.
We wont really have a good idea for 3 years. Most of these guys wont play year 1.
