I have found my people. I’ve never laughed so much watching flosstube. Y’all are hysterical. I appreciate the levity you bring to the seriousness of stitching so many dang birds 😂

You two are a hoot together. I giggle like I’m part of the silliness at times. Also, I enjoy seeing the support you have for each other in so many little ways. What a beautiful relationship y’all have created together. The question/stitch-with-me format is nice. Please do it again.

I love you both! My sister doesn’t stitch at all and I called her the other day just to tell her she had to watch you! I laugh so hard I cry. I discovered you because of Midsummer Stitch! Thank you so much Steph of Lindy Stitches! I have now watched all of your FlossTubes multiple times… we need more stitch together episodes!
Thank you 🙏🏻 so very much for the joy and kindness you bring!

I'm a kiwi but I moved across the ditch to Sydney. Spiders were my biggest fear too, but in the last 5 years I've had only one huntsman in the house. It was like 9:30 at night and i made a friend come over to get it out. Couldn't open the cupboard without nightmares for weeks. In reality you probably won't see any, just make sure you look up for any drop bears

So fun stitching with you this evening!
I went to Sydney for two weeks in 2010, and I didn’t see a single spider. I granted, I intentionally did not look at the places around the house we were staying in that normally would have spiders, because I wanted to be able to sleep without seeing them when I close my eyes. 😂 by in large, I think city spiders in Sydney will stay out of your way. The birds are crazy, though. I never got attacked, but there were a couple of times I walked *very* quickly because the vibes were bad.

I'm an Aussie (in Melbourne) and I just had to weigh in about the spiders in Australia. Please don't let this stop you Amity! Sydney is great (but I'm honour bound to say that Melbourne is better 😁) I doubt you will see any spiders if you come here for a holiday. They're really only a problem in old houses etc. Sydney is easy to get to, easy to get around, and you just have to come!

You two are great! I love it when you laugh. Erinn, we are doing a SAL for the Shannon Christine piece for my girlfriend’s birthday in July which will also double as Christmas in July. Don’t be intimidated by the beading. It’s really no different than doing a Mill Hill kit especially if you are using your stand and can do it two handed.

This was a lot of fun. I can’t wait for the remainder of the questions. Since this was recorded mid-month you may already be aware, but Mudpuppy
Stitchery has some interesting bird charts she has designed on Etsy. Her last video she mentioned she downloaded Amity’s bird nerd chart. Still laughing about Side Salad. We had a white squirrel earlier this year who took up residence in our backyard. Being very creative, I named her Whitey. Two more appeared that were a bit less white so they were Whitey 2.0 and Whitey 2.5. I’ve always done a better job naming our pets!😂

you two could have totally grown up on my street, my gang of girls did every kind of craft, hobby and went down every historical rabbit hole, One summer my friend ,Laura, and I recreated the internal burial chamber of Tutankhamun tomb. We of course learned to read hieroglyphics for this endeavor (which later allowed us to be docents in a museum writing kid's name cartouches). Let me just say we hand painted every surface in her bedroom which took an entire summer. The next summer we wanted to be geishas so we learned to sew and embroider to make elaborate kimonos, took lessons in classical instruments, flower arranging and dance of the geisha and learned to preform the classical tea ceremony that we did every time we were together for years. We also became accomplished paper Quillers - let me just say Laura's mother found all these classes and people to learn from and she was a really cool person in her own right.

I live in Canberra, Australia and yes from time to time we do get a large spider in the house but they are super chill and easy to catch and release although that is a Hubby job. We do live close to bushland. The Opera house is far away from any bushland so you will be safe. It is an amazing building.

So much fun. I can totally relate to the loud woodpecker. We live in the country as well and have a wood stove with the metal pipe. We were woken up by this loud echoing tap tap tap over our heads. It was pretty freaky. Turns out a woodpecker felt the need to wake us up. Thank you, Amity, for sharing what the project on the wall behind you is. I absolutely love it. Hope you two do this again.

Your Christmas morning had me laughing. My dad didn’t brew coffee but we had to wait for him to get out of bed and get the 8mm movie camera ( circa 1962) and then load the “flash bulbs” which were a row of flood lights that apparently took FOREVER to put together. We would have to wait patiently(or not) and then stumble towards the tree, blinded by the floodlights, to see what Santa left. Ahhhh, happy childhood memories! Torture at the time, hilarious now.💕

I too could not manage to march and play flute at the same time. I totally faked it until I got busted when the director did a walk through. I was relegated to flag corps for marching season. How I could twirl a flag and march, but not play and march, is beyond me.

Hello again from Tennessee! So....... Amity....... Others of us love love Schitts Creek too. How about a secret along pattern? I completely trust your skills and would love to buy the pattern and stitch the ones you've done so far so we are stitching together. Whatcha think? You have creative license to make changes and you could even include them in the patterns. You could stitch a section and release it after you've finished. Please please please? 😁😁😁. I'm getting to watch your video and stitch each day before I go and sit with my mom. It's been absolutely wonderful! Thank you so very much! (Ps... My name is Nola.... Find that printed on things lolol) An audio book suggestion.....(Which by the way is the best thing ever if they have a good voice because you can stitch and listen) Lillian Jackson Braun "The Cat Who" series. Same characters in all the books and the same reader. (George Gwidell ... Spelled right?) They are easy enough to hear and concentrate on stitching. 😉

Hi again! I can't find my other comment to edit. I just learned about another open source free Photoshop alternative called Krita. It has a much easier UI to learn than GIMP.

If you make a planner you could also sell it as a downloadable on your Etsy… just saying! 😂

Hi Erin and Amity. Loved this stitch wth time. Question I have that stand you are using, how do you end a thread with it. I have to take my hoop off it to end the thread and then put it back on. Seems like a hassle but have not figured out any other way to do it.

Hello! We're so glad you enjoyed the Stitch with Us! The stand has a knob on the side of the bracket that holds the hoop/Qsnap that loosens so you can flip the project upside down to end a thread. Then you just flip it back and tighten the knob to start a new thread. We had a few people ask about this so have a quick demo of how it works on our new video that will be out in the next couple of days.
Thank you for watching! Happy stitching!

GIMP is a free software. It's very similar to photoshop.

Erin, I have not tried two handed stitching. On your stand, does it flip around to end your stitches or do you use a pin stitch.?

    • @HathawayStitchers
      @HathawayStitchers  3 місяці тому

It does flip around! There's a knob on one side that you can loosen so you can flip it over to end stitches. Amity just ordered one, so I'm looking forward to hear how she likes it!

I'm 73yrs. old and love you two!! You're so adorable. I look forward to your floss tube so much. But I don't understand why you say each time the phrase “ she, her”, what do you mean by that? Why do you say it? Lol
