This is a first class kick ass fishing kit. I have 11 of one very close to this made out of pvc pipe. I have 11 survval kits. I practice once a week with my equipment. I came back late today from being in the woods for the last 3 days. My lunch was cheese stuffed fresh catfish fillets deep fried and toasted garlic bread. Done on my Jet Boil stove. I have 32 years survival and self defense training. Love my life. Im now 64 years old and in the woods once a week. Im an ex Army Ranger.
Way to go Andrew. Great video and great job.
    Rangers clear the way.

@insideimagery133 I don't use love bait any more. It's a little bit more work but it's self rewarding. The best places I use to find worms was under old logs, under old lumber and sheets of old tin. That's how I use to get mine. All I use now is artificial baits.

Most people aren't going to be able to procur a spent flare casing, maybe you could make another vid using readily available PVC parts that would be bought at a home depot, lowes, farm an fleet, tractor an supply, etc, etc. Really great ideas in this vid tho, an when running a concealed trot line, maybe you could add in a trip stick made out of an L7 trap to let you know, ( fish on ) so you wouldn't have to babysit the line, kinda like ice fishing with the trip flag, just a thought Bro. Thx for the vid

It's very packable insofar it doesn't take up much room. I have an 18" fishing rod- the primary go to- that easily attaches to the outside of my pack(s). One thing I learned from Corporal's Corner was using a small piece of orange paracord to put on a hook if you don't have live bait. It's amazing how well it works. It's cool that you actually go out and prove the concept.

Small southern stock ponds or "tanks" will contain a preponderance of growth-stunted bass, sun catfish (or yellow catfish) and perch. Chasing one or two hog bass in the whole tank isn't worth the squeeze if it risks getting your ass shot off tending a cane pole in the open.
Non-permissive survival situations would favor the use of a gill net or concealed trot line and provide the survivor with maximum caloric net inflow. Set it in the dark, recover it in the dark. IMHE.

Great job. One small thing I would like to see added to the fishing kit are three small screw eyes like you would use on a picture frame. Together with a branch you can make a very effective
    fishing pole. Think fly rod.

A snail or Helgramite is a fine bait; crack the snail shell well and hook it thru the foot and Do Not remove the shell after cracking as you wantt o keep that snail as bait as long as you can.
I caught 5 large trout in the Nat. Guard in southern Oregon. 7 Lakes Basin area next to 4 mile lake.
