HUGE FACE PALM MOMENT 🤦♂️ I was just so I checked... And no I didn't state my VR settings in steam. sorry everyone. Essentially I locked my HP reverb g2 to 100% resolution and left retrojection on. All the titles were not super sampled or undersampled unless it's built into the graphics preset like "VR High" in ACC. I look to do more VR testing soon! Thank you everyone!
Don’t know why and now you turn up in my feed but this is exactly what we all need. I’ve been saying it for a long time already, who the heck is interested in benchmarks in GPU performance in the 2D world when we are talking about 250 to 300 FPS. I don’t care. A real bench these days is measured with VR FPS performance and nothing else. These benches make the difference. No one can see a difference from 250 to 300 or more. Great job and thanks for the hard work you put in. Keep them coming.
Something seems off with Project Cars 2 VR Benchmarks. The rest I can't really relate to. I've got the Valve Index. All settings are maxed. I get a steady 90fps in anything but rain. With rain I need to drop the MSAA to medium to keep the constant 90 (no reprojection). This is on a 3070Ti with 7800X3D, so something definitely seems off with those results as I was looking to upgrade to a 3090 to eek out a little more in MSFS & have a constant max setting experience in PC2. Are you driving the triple screens at the same time as the headset or something?
Just spotted this, shows the GPU being utilised around 50% at 90hz. CPU seems to be struggling a bit though, which my 7800X3D isn't. ua-cam.com/video/2QOHyDEfmB4/v-deo.html Perhaps it's your CPU that was limiting the test?
Very very possible it's my CPU. I'll check but I am also using the hp reverb which is a bit harder to run than the index due to higher resolution and Windows mixed VR isn't that optimal to be honest.
hi, did you let your case open ? Cause you are not supposed to curve or bend the cables or it could end up just like those guys with carbonized power cables. ( i just let my Case open) ANd how did you manage to install the gpu bracket ? thanks.
GPU bracket is on the side by the side panel just before the GeForce logo. Yes I prebent the wire, installed and carefully closed my side panel without incident. It was close but it works.
@@RTAMOTORSPORTS about the gpu bracket the only suitable placefor my setup is the space between gpu vent 2 and 3 otherwise the thing will block vent 3 and at the back of the card the shape of the ventilation prohibits to put it there.
@@Djk0t I can but if your wanting to review before I can, I did all IRacing benchmarks off of a single replay file... All replays use the game engine but different settings then in game potentially. I left it on class one preset. (The highest default without adjusting custom settings)
Possibly from the CPU but overall you have an amazingly powerful system. It is hard to say, have you tried VR Mark to test your system?? I would give it a try as it's great in determining a benchmark for your system on the harder tests.
Finally upgraded my 1080ti to 3090. I have to say that it rocks my triple 1440p 144hz monitors. Got it used for €800. No way I'm going to pay 2.5k for a gpu 😅. They can keep there 4090.
No noises just loud when they ramp up, also their software may be having some issues, but I'm going to test the dual bios for the fan curve and see if the quiet mode helps.
@@RTAMOTORSPORTS You could use something like MSI Afterburner and setup a custom fan curve to keep the fans running all the time (no Zero fan crap) and set the max fan speed so you don't go deaf! LOL Just set the fan speed low at low temps (30% or so) and ramp them up as the temps get higher. :)
Thank you for the VR Sim racing benchmarks. Just a suggestion, any chance you can try older sim racing titles that are DX9 based (AC, R3E and rFactor-2) to see if the 4090 would actually make a difference since these titles are heavily CPU dependent. Also, VR Mark's Orange room is more for old HMDs like the OG Vive and Rift CV1, the one you want to run is the Blue room (a little more consistent with higher resolution HMDs) The orange room can run on a potato! LOL Using the Reverb G2 is a great idea since it's a higher res HMD but not the highest (Varjo Aero is higher), also maybe mention what your SteamVR per application resolution setting is, 100% is very high res for the G2, for some sims I have to go down to 70% resolution to get a steady 90fps with my G2 using a 3080ti / 5900x. All little bits of information that are so precious since very few people ever do VR sim racing performance videos. Again, thank you.
I'm going to pin a comment... ( I just reqatched and realized your right... I didn't say anything about what I did there) but yes I plan to do more VR testing soon.
@@RTAMOTORSPORTS Oh yeah, also, don't expect miracles with ACC, that title is extremely poorly optimized for VR. So my guess is that title will NEVER run really well no matter how fast the hardware may be. Even if you put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig! LOL
My EVGA 3090 FTW3 Ultra (KingPin 520W-bios) hardly exceeds 60°C (hotspot +8°) while benchmarking. But mine is well watercooled (Alphacool parts, 2 rads 240/30 and 360/45). 😉

I hope RTA aint't gonna kill me for telling you that ?
I can run my Samsung Odyssey Headset all out in every VR racing game finally. And yes temp are crazy low. I stay in the 60's C in every game. I got a hold of the Asus Tuf OC 4090 at microcenter release day. BTW Got a HP Reverb g2 my second try with the reverb and I'm selling it shortly. Nothing but problems. I will never buy HP again. Update; I got another Reverb G2 from Ebay for $280. It was like new in the box and have had no problems with it thank God. Came with the new updated cable.
The 3090 is thermal throttling with those temperatures and my watercooled 3080 usually runs around 60° C on load and below 50 in idle without fans. You should at least replace the thermal pads of your 3090 and may check if the results improve with it.
m using a Geforce RTX 3090 with a Pimax 8k. I can run in VR high settings in ACC, but get stutter. The best setting for me was VR low. I want to be able to run in high VR settings. Im also getting ready to upgrade to the Pimax 12K QLED, so I would need the horse power of the 4090 as well. But man! That price tag!
So you can only allow for displays on at one time even though there's five ports on the tuff card? Even then it would still work better than my HDMI switch but that seems kind of crappy LOL
