Thanks again Andrew and the rest of the crew here! So glad you liked it and is one of my top 5 drummers for sure. I wanted to share a different-side of his metal speed technique videos (not taking anything away as I am a metal fan;) and show his diversity, as he does embrace it.
I have downloaded this video a while ago and I still watch it in awe.....he's unbelievable to watch and his precision is on another level, insane doesn't even add it up 😲
"Also, when I grow up, I want my toms to sound like that...thank you, very much" Hahahhaaha. Andy...this is why your videos are the best, mate. Always levity, but also very serious and apt. You are the best my guy!
You can tell Alex loves playing drums, it shows. You can feel it in his playing & the energy he uses doing so. I'm guessing he's highly dedicated cause he found something he absolutely loves to do. Few ppl find this & it's how legends are born.
You are totally right... Alex by far is one of the best drummers I have ever ...ever heard before. He is beyond unbelievable ! I can listen to him play all day!!!

His discipline and dedication to perfection is astounding! Huge respects also to Stan Bickies another fantastic drummer ... thx Andrew for your reaction series love em
This drummer is truly extraordinary. He knows how to do everything: super fast, leaves essential silences to the rhythm, makes the tomes and cymbals sing ... He deserves one or two cymbals with a larger and more grandiose sound, and also other volumes. I would really like to listen to him on excellent jazz-rock or jazz fusion for example.
I feel you Andrew. Mr Rüdinger is one helluva beast on the drums. I play what I play and just listen and try to aspire to the masters. I first heard him in 'The HARP Machine - Esoteric Agenda' and has been a fan of him since then. And also, yes, this is LIVE! One unbroken cut from finish to end in front of a live audince. Impressive!
Was live at this festival and saw him play. It was mindblowing. He cracked his left hand crash at one point of his set lol. Also benny greb, anika nilles, aric improta and chris coleman were there and played. Best day of my drumming life for sure.
I love precise Rudy can be whilst also being heavy. He's crazy accurate with his notes including ghost notes... it's so fucking beautiful to watch. Love the tone het gets out of his drumset as well. Snare always sounds on point plus those toms can sing man!
Not sure if was commented on the last Faceless reaction vid but Lyle Cooper was the composer of that song. Just appreciate there's 2 drummers that can play that haha
Milos meier is close and extremely overwhelming with how much endurance one can have and not sound like mindlessly blasting fast fills . Glad to see you watched Alex , great review 👍
Been a fan since the beginning. Too bad they only have one EP and one full length. We need MOAR. Love them so much. Seattle here btw...so a local band on your channel! Finally!
Hi Andrew, It's cool to watch your videos. Kudos for trying a music style your not into, it's difficult, especially for extreme genres.... I tried to ctrl+f "David Diepold", "Kevin Paradis" and "Romain Goulon" in the comments but didn't find anything. I guess you could try to have a look at those three. I don't know any but you could try more often jazz drummers too, to change a bit from extreme metal :D I think it's also a very demanding drumming in a completely different way. Cheers and keep up the good work.
Another extreme drummer is Lee Stanton, percussion for Thy art is Murder." Man is the enemy" is the song. The bass drum technique is sick!! You have to check him out if you haven't already!!
Thanx for including my comment in your video! The next Alex vid to check out is him playing Monuments - I, The Creator. It's a masterclass in drum tuning and mixing. Best drum sounds I've ever heard.
Nice reaction stuff !! Alex is amazing drummer and the 2 important things or weapons in his pocket i think...the memorizing and the greatest exercised legs to give him this amazing control .At the hands section i think isn't something difficult these does he plays.
I'm kinda shocked that you haven't covered Ben Koller yet, or that I haven't seen other people suggesting him. He's a beast and he always has such a great time playing that he's a joy to watch.
After years of forum arguing and watching the extreme scene grow and prosper, I won't say someone is better than Alex. Different, yes. Someone like Kai Hahto. :)
I love Alex, one of my fav drummers! But man, Matt Garstka from Animals as Leaders, he is not from this planet, some unbelievable stuff. Another 2 drummers I love are Donovan Melero (sings and plays) and Joseph Arrington
I BELIEVE Rudi learned (or at least took lessons) from Travis Orbin, who is also a machine. I think for my money, those 2 and Chris Turner take the cake. All of the technical chops and speed and power you need for this genre... but so much nuance and groove as well. Also... a super underrated dude is Jamie St Merat of a band called Ulcerate. Cheers and thanks for the videos!
Check out Ray Hearne from Haken. His playthrough of 1985 on the Natal Drums channel is very well produced and has lots of interesting time signatures! It's not quite as heavy and is very 80's prog/electronic inspired.
Chris Turner just released his new solo song drum video; it's called 40 Roll. It's amazing! He will give Alex a run for his money, in my opinion, but they are both fantastic.
Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan.... Not many videos on him but theirs a few drum-tracks. Beast And The Harlot is a good one, he does a mind melting solo 3/4 of the way through.
Rudi is pretty unreal when it comes to playing very clean and precise, and he plays a bunch of different styles. He's the kind of studio musician you DREAM of hiring to play drums on your record, he's done a whole bunch of albums, including Intronaut's latest. Definitely check out The Cull playthrough by Rudi, it'll even further showcase what he can do. There's a whole lot of other INSANE metal drummers, there is no shortage of them in metal. I mean, you know of Jamie St Merat and I'm sure Dan Presland.
Alex is an absolute machine. I wouldn't say he is the "best" but... that's all subjective. He's definitely among the 1% as far as technical precision goes... he communicates a ton of energy and emotion with even just basic rolls and transitions. I suggest looking up Austin Archey from Lorna Shore... he's easily my favorite, and the dude is honestly incredible.
At this level of drumming it’s all just opinion or preference who you think is better or the best. I’ve seen him live playing with different bands and he is flawless live
Yes, Rudi is a Beast! Check out Sebastian Lanser - Obscura "Sermon of the Seven Suns" if you want someone I think is on par with him ;) Cheers and keep on doing what you're doing!
Lillie Gruber from Defeated Sanity a must listen.. and at this level can't really say whose better. A matter of preference. Rudi is amazing, check out Sebastion Lanser also Jamie St Merat is completely mind blowing
Thanks again Andrew and the rest of the crew here!

Unbelievable Brett!
And thanks again for waiting!
REALLY dig this man.
Te drummer for intervals is something else as well
Who are the other 4 drummers?
I have downloaded this video a while ago and I still watch it in awe.....he's unbelievable to watch and his precision is on another level, insane doesn't even add it up 😲
Crazy Darran
Rudi representing us Marylanders so well! He’s an absolute monster on the drums!
100% Xavier!

Too kind Lyle

His drumming on the most recent Intronaut album is literally some of the best drumming I've ever heard
I bet Andrew!!

I've had Stan on my podcast!
I’ll check that one out he’s 👍🏻
He said on one of his master classes “ if your feet aren’t burning your not working hard enough”
He's definitely a hard hitting guy, even in softer applications, check out some good tiger stuff of his
Yes he's in total control. GREAT player!
This guy is such a beast man! I love the way how his set sounds like and these amazing skills. I'm speechless wow..
Il donne une impression de facilité incroyable, une aisance des deux côtés, une dissociation comme s'il avait un cerveau pour chaque main.
I think I agree!

Just discovered your channel. Love it. Alex rudinger is an 👽
Back in 2017, i was there on the Festival and saw this live. He just blew my mind.
7 Horns 7 Eyes is the band that wrote the song. My friends' band. So good! Alex is sooooo intense to watch. He makes the best faces.
I had to circle back to this just to remember how insanely good this is..
Cameron Losch (Born of Osiris) is on this level. And to make matters worse/better, he shreds on guitar just as well.
Know what amazed me more? The freakin laptop didn't fall down.
I love precise Rudy can be whilst also being heavy. He's crazy accurate with his notes including ghost notes... it's so fucking beautiful to watch. Love the tone het gets out of his drumset as well. Snare always sounds on point plus those toms can sing man!
