How did you retain Steering wheel controls? Did you buy interface or did you just connect the SWC1 & 2 directly to the harness plug?

I am having problems with Seicane. 1st they send the head unit with out the required canbus for my car (Toyota RAV4 Limited with JBL system). After I sent them photo of my dashboard. A month late I get the can bus and it does not work. I did what I was told to do which, was use a paper clip and press the reset on the front bezel. That turn off the unit. then it turn on again and still not audio. So I did a factory reset and lost all the Nav software and the WiFi, blue tooth, AM/FM radio does not work. Sending emails it takes three days to hear from them. I wait for a RMA to see if they can re flash the head unit. The head unit looks great when it did work but never had audio. Model S6947. Check the youtube video for the Unit. In the video you see the canbus connected.
so aside from the issue you had with the bezel, the functionality of the unit itself was good? no issues with it compared to other who have the SYGAV or SEICANE units? i have an Evo X and they want double the price if not a little more compared to the pricing on aliexpress.

Aliexpress is good for phone cases and cheap stuff. Expensive stuff, never. Keep in mind though that items from China go through customs and boats/planes. Meaning they're stuck waiting for the boats and or planes to fill up and boxes to be checked for contraband. Not defending the seller but some things are out of their control.

Has seicane not figured it out with their issues and fixed them? I go to their site and everything is half off. Send like they can't sell anything. Your opinion, are they not worth anyone's time?

I recently purchased this Head Unit from AliExpress, and having a few issues.
I believe that I have plugged in everything there is to be plugged, but for some reason:
The door sensors aren't working. It keeps telling me that I have various doors open when it is not the case.
I can no longer use my stock installed AUX input.
I cannot use the Bluetooth to play music.
It does not turn on/off automatically when turning the car on/off.
I hope you can help.

Have you tried the Octa-core Android 6.0 2GB unit and is it worth the extra $100-150?? Even the 5.1's are more expensive now :(
yeah, i want to try the octa-core but i'm content with what i have now.
I went through a similar experience with a Pumpkin radio for my truck. Paid about 380 Canadian. Arrived DOA. Would not turn on. Tried going on the forums but there was a 24 hour delay with them responding. Same with email. Ended up sending it back at my cost. 120 Canadian and it took 2 months. Faster would have cost almost 200. They wouldn't send me a new unit and would only fix the old one. Just got it back and while it works, their canbus adapter has failed. So it has to be unplugged and plugged back in every time I try and turn it on.

I enjoy mine even though it had issues though it gives me pause to buy a second unit for my other vehicles. In hindsight, if I had bought through Amazon I would not have had to pay shipping. I went through their own website.

I know this is 6 years old, but even today, dealing with Chinese sellers is difficuly. You kind of have to play to them a bit and make them feel like they are doing a really good job and then they are more likely to help. It's tricky though and some sellers are harder to deal with than others. I have found Seicane a little harder to deal with. EKIY, Eonon and Joying seem pretty decent to deal with though

the one i gave to my brother is 4.4.4, the one i have is 4.4.2.
I have no plans to upgrade either to the higher version. The lower the better smoother in my opinion. The new 8 cores would be nice but is $$

This is a good looking head unit. All the other guys on youtube have ones that Jut out like crazy, which doesn't look seamless and screams aftermarket. Can't stand the look of a half inch shelf in front of the bottom of the AC.
Just always file a claim immediately. Forget about dealing with the sellers. Especially over seas based sellers because most of them try to drag it out past your claim time frame so you can't file a claim against them.
Yeah, i'll keep that in mind next time. i was able to file a claim and got like 20 bucks partial refund lol
John Nguyen glad to hear that you got something back. I like the idea of working with the seller but more times than not, I have been messed over this same way. I've even filed a claim with the BBB a few times with companies other than Amazon or eBay that don't offer buyer protection. Anyway, no need to reply if you don't want, just wanted to mention about the BBB.
You can always file a dispute with the credit card company within 6 months, some credit card companies even allow up to a year. You got screwed royally. No way should it have been your fault that he sent you a cracked bezel and then gave you incorrect information which caused the screen to get broken during replacement. Is don't even get me started on the $120 in shipping cost, you got bent over.
I learned the hard way. I bought a head unit for my Lexus and it's currently rebooting every few minutes. The seller isn't responding now and I'm past my 15 day dispute period.

I actually went on Alliexpress to try to order some ignition coils for my car and the back and forth I was having to do with the seller, I decided it wasn't worth it. To be frank, they have some good items on the site, but you playing the lotto and hoping you get all the numbers if you get a good seller, smh...
they have a lot of cool products, just a pain in the ass to deal with if you have an issue

It's a hit or miss. Ordered from Ali and installed since Dec 16' and mine functions just about perfect. My issue is the harness is NOT plug and play to retain all functions via reverse, steering, etc. I had to make my own harness out of the one it came with and used the additional pins and wires from one of my toyota harness laying around. On top of that, the pin layout is in Chinese. In the end, I really do like the head unit as I was finally able to get everything to work plus the unlimited apps. But, unless you've the patience, time and some experience with sound systems, get yourself a real head unit. Remember when I said, mine work just about perfect, the bluetooth handsfree call is shit when driving, they can't hear anything in the other end, and the only way to fix that is to relocate the mic which requires to taking the unit apart.
YatsuBoy Your unit didnt come with an external mic? Subiespeed version has one but it is not needed as the calls are crystal clear.
The unit doesnt come with one as most chinese units dont. Any double din that are reputable these days do come with one or an adequate front face mic at the least.
yeah the mic quality is decent with the cheaper ones. the subispeed one has two mics.

Hey John - 2016 wrx base owner here and looking to upgrade. Does this unit function with the factory satellite radio? Seems like options that don't require you to buy a bunch of additional parts (i.e. bezel etc) are a little limited!
no sat radio.
However no extra parts are needed except if you want to keep your usb in the center console you have to buy an adapter

The housing is included. They specifically made these for the wrx/sti 2015+

damn john that sucks. sometimes it is not worth the headache. Thats why i bought mine from subie speed, smooth. i even downgraded to android 4.4 and it is so nice. The radio stock was really bad, super laggy and unstable. On aliexpress they have a new 2gb version which should clear any lag and stability issues.
yeah i see the new 8 core ones, if i didn't get a crack bezel, i wouldn't lose out on the money just the time i spent.

Alright i just brought a chogath 10.1 inch android unit. my seller was awesome although i thought she was shifty at the start. contact was easy going back and forth to each other at any time of day. package was shipped as soon as payment went through. and i just received the unit in less than a week. i think it took 5 working days... IN SAYING THAT
ive always looked at aliexpress as a knockoff ebay and ive always hated ebay. but you must keep in mind anything purchased off sites similar to aliexpress that arent as well known as amazon and ebay or even craigslist as you americans call it, there will always be a risk and there will always be the "unknown" in the back of your mind until the package is visible infront of your eyes. in saying that my first and last transaction with aliexpress was perfect but i will not be doing alot of shopping from the site just cause i simply dont trust it. but things like things being cracked and stuff being broken in transit isnt always going to be the sellers fault so you literally have to have a heart for them. cause 9/10 times the shipping company is not going to reimburse you cause they will never be in the wrong.

I bought a head unit from aliexpress for 250$ + tax. It broke after a couple of months but i could trace the problem and the cpu was broken. I told my evidence to the seller and he sent me a new cpu for free. Now it's working perfect. I've had much better experiences with aliexpress than whit ebay.

Your messed UP, the rigth thing to do is to open a dispute process on aliexpress and Aliexpress start a process to return your money. No need to waste more money on returns.
Always use Aly pay, is like Paypal.

If I may suggest to anyone. The best company is Eonon. They're located in NJ and if anything goes wrong with their tablet. They replace it for free (within one year) I had a problem with mine. And I sent it back and THEY PAID FOR SHIPPING. they have great customer service.

I would of filed a claim as soon as I received it and I never close out the sale until I get my product, They want you to close it so they can get paid. So if you have it open they are willing to work with you. I buy a lot from aliexpress.

I wouldn't buy this or any of these Chinese units again. I had this for 3 weeks before it stopped working, when it did work the radio reception was poor the DAB even worse and mp3s skipped like playing a scratched CD and often the unit would freeze forcing me to reset it. Sat nav apps would work at first then slow down and eventually cause the unit to freeze..Extrons service have been useless. don't buy these units get a branded double din and stand alone sat nav, will cost less but give much better performance

AliExpress will only protect the seller not the buyer. My experience with AliExpress has been poor and will never purchase anything from them. contacting AliExpress customer service was a joke, did not help at all and just recommended me to resolve with the seller.
