- Want Apple CarPlay in your Subaru? Well today we install a Seicane Android Head unit with apple car play into my Subaru WRX STI! You can do this too and for a great price!
I've been using this head unit for over a week now and im super happy with it! I think that you can beat the value of this android head unit and the fact that I now have apple car play in my Subaru sti is awesome!

I have the Kenwood in my pickup. You can set the color to steady lol.
You can change the settings in auto kit so it boots and connects every time you start your car

That kenwood is actually a really good head unit, to this day it’s still a really good head unit…
Knew it was a tomei. When you first got the car & I quote “cars too quiet I need a fat tomei screaming out the back” 😭😭😭

Fitted a Dasaita HU in my 08 hatch sti 2 years ago,it has wireless CarPlay built in. Great piece of kit 👍
They also make a version of the CarPlay dongle that’s wireless, also that app has a auto boot feature that you can turn on

FYSA - I have the same thing for my 09 Forester ... prepare for the Bluetooth to go out and not work. Prepare for it to freeze all the time and the only thing you can do is pull over and turn the car off and on again.

@@beakhan I hope yours doesn't either - but after getting mine - I did more research and a LOT of people have the same issue. ALSO - be prepared for the reverse camera (if you install one) to not work properly - mine doesn't automatically change to the camera when put into reverse - even though everything is wired up correctly (pictures and video sent to Seicane and they confirmed); only thing I can do is use the "FCAM" app and manually show the camera. They were good about replying to any issues - but could NEVER solve any problems :/

You say driver experience mod. I am also going down the rabbit hole of reliability mods. Fluidampr crank pulley, iwire grounding as part of the big 3, etc.
Be careful with the squeak on your clutch. Get it checked out by the dealer then after call Subaru of America and hassle them about it. The squeak is the spot welds that are coming apart and once they’re gone your clutch will be completely disconnected, dangerous/fatal if you’re on the fwy. There may be a recall on it.

So I got this same head unit for my 2013 WRX hatch everything works great but I can’t get Bluetooth to work for CarPlay anyone know how to get It to work
Every radio I've ever owned has color settings so you can match the color best or perfectly to the stock interior, also don't care if it looks dated it's about the audio quality for me.

I have the exact same head unit in my WRX for about 2 years now. Those other wires are for other features you can add to the unit, like GPS, TPMS monitoring, rear view camera, eta... I love my radio.
What year is ur wrx did it fit fine ?
@@WrxDreww I have a 2011 and it’s a perfect fit. Just had to tell them which model I had so that they could send the correct wire harness.

Does your car comes with H&K system. I have a 2016 FXT and the crapy radio just died. it keeps rebooting and rebooting.. I want to keep original amp and speakers. Do I have to buy some additional connectors for using this radio? Thanks in advance.

i believe so, it should just plug into your oem wire harness which uses all the speakers in the car

Does your clutch pedal squeak every time you press it? If so your welds on the firewall might be broken.

no but I didn’t bother to even connect the wires because I have an aftermarket steering wheel in it now

@@kaser92337 I have the exact same unit on my 08 STI. I just got my steering wheel controls working today. In case you are wondering, you connect 1 of your steering wheel control wires from your OEM harness to the "key 1" wire on the seicane head unit. The 2nd steering wheel control wire from your OEM harness connects to ground. Key 2 wire on the seicane harness can be left disconnected entirely. Works like a charm!
I ended up getting rid of my Seicane radio. It died after a year and was having issues from day one. Their customer support was horrendous.

Fyi with those head units, the mic hole will allow dust to get behind the screen. Also, the microphone isnt the best, especially once you have an exhaust.

Yes it will fit search up tomei expreme ti catback just be aware its one of the loudest exhausts for the subi and you will get stopped by cops if you live in an area with high patrol activity
yes the sti hatch and wrxs catbacks are interchangeable! If you want one dm my buddy @highintakeperformance and he will hook you up with one!🤘🏼
