I remember this night. I was drinking beers at the Hairy Monk (Red Sox bar) in NYC reading the print copy of The Onion. I saw the advert for this show the day of, like an hour too late. I couldn't make it in time. What a bummer. They were one of my favorite Boston bands for years.
I just LOVE that Gram Parsons song at 46:03. Forever thankful to Evan for having done such a beautiful studio recording of it as well. And for being my gateway artist into Gram. Lemonheads forever
Hey I'm searching for this Lemonheads video of an underground club concert. Here are the details that I remember. The concert was during the day at like 1pm. Evan made a comment about it. People were also shouting songs. I remember this girl shouting "Something's Missing" although I don't remember him playing it. This was a super small club and I know I might never find the video but I thought this might be the place to ask!
Very Good show but I prefer the sound of the 2 guitar sound from 1996. Check out live in London. It’s one of my all time favorite. Hospital sounds so good here tho 😊😊
Captain Beefheart is a bit before my time. I grew up in Northern Ireland before coming to the states we listened to mostly punk rock and metal, it was the troubles, angry music for angry times. As a guy who has sang and played guitar in bands I tried to listen to my dads captain beefheart record but I did not bloody get it. My theory is that us musicians that grew up in violence and pain tend to write happy songs about our girlfriends and the guys who grew up easy write death metal songs. The thing is, those of us who have already seen friends in a coffin, we don't want to sing about that, we want to escape it. Im a cop in NYC with a band on the side. I don't write songs about the fucking crack dealers and whores I arrest, those would be depressing songs. You can hear The songs I have written here: reverbnation.com/summerandlightning
Summer AndLightning Your band sounds great! I grew up listening to punk and hardcore bands like Minor Threat, Black Flag, The Bad Brains, The Ramones... Many punk bands along with classic rock, But also country music, and 50's and 60's music. Keep it up with the music! :)

I Love the Lemonheads a Million Billion Trillion!!! Thank You!
This is one of the best concert videos I've ever seen/heard. Thanks for sharing.
Patience is like bread I say, I ran out of that yesterday. ❤️
This is great. Thanks so much for posting. I remember not being able to attend this gig... Amazing I get to see/hear it 25 years laterlol
Are you a time traveler?

Awesome venue. Favorite show - firehose, 1989 maybe? Mike watt sold me a shirt.
great show thx 4 sharing!❤️ p.s. Evan should keep that drummer on the payroll - so good!!
Weird, that drummer ruins everything here for me...
Yes I agree, great drummer
That white SG has seen some action over the years.
Great gig! Thanks for sharing.
Great performance! I love the intro.
Excellent show!
Way to go. Awesome!!
Evan is a beautiful soul.
hr is. dont tell him though
Absolutely love this, thank you!
I imagine the last 3 minutes of this give you an insight into what it might be like to live next door to Evan.
surely a "top 5 of the 90's" sorta band/man
depends on taste or lack of
Turnpike Down always sounds the best live. Devon and Vess do it perfectly here.
that little guitar passage/fill from 8:25 made my day!
Lovely sound on this video. Last time I saw them was in 1995 or something like that :-) Evan looked way happier back than.
koen roels
Werent we all happier in 1995 ??
Love the double backup vocals.
I dont wanna get high, and im not gonna not get stoned. Those are the only two things me and my friends know when we go to a lemonheads gig.

Astoria 1996? It’s on UA-cam
nice toque
anyone know what the T shirt is Evan is wearing ? great video thanks for sharing !
Wow, cameo from Springa of SSD on Skulls. He looks completely unprepared LOL.

nice shirt! (y)
evan is the dude x
Ride with Me
Too bad the audio isn't better. Vocals are insanely loud, must have been direct from the board.
WHY ON EARTH IS THE GREAT BIG NO MUTED???
With Jack White on Bass.
His name is Vess. He and the drummer had a great band in the late 90's called The Pieces.
I'll check 'em out, cheers buddy. I like the "Style" that they have :)
Vess was also in Antenna with ex Blake Babies John Strohm.
LOL
jack could mass it...
shit doesnt get much cooler xx
Wow... is that a very overweight Springa from SS Decontrol that joins in on "Skulls"?
Yes sir
cliff jones lesson to be learned google
Good, Guitar licks If the drummer could tone it down a little. But really it is not the drummer's job to do that, the control board has that choice.
vrikkian lol
f reat stuff x
Bad @$$.......
half brilliant performance, half drunken rambling nonsense.
I would rather hear Evan Dando pick up a guitar and sing a song drunk, than hear most people sing sober.
You might be referring to the words by Don Van Vliet at the end of Ride with me? aka Captain Beefheart.

whats the fun in being sober?
