  • Did a trip to the newly opened Pontiac Museum, in of course Pontiac, Michigan. It's in an old elementary school that is being converting into a Pontiac Museum. Like all museums, they need some funding to keep the progress going. I think there in need of $60,000 to complete phase two, plus over $100,000 is still needed for phase three, so if you have a thick wallet you want to thin out, I am sure they could help you out.
Lots of cool old Pontiac's, including a concept four seat Pontiac Fiero. There was a "one off" special made Grand Am station wagon I think you might find interesting. Also a Canadian built Pontiac Parisienne station wagon on a Chevrolet chassis.
I hope the signs were clear enough to pause on them to read, as some of the cars had interesting stories behind them. Richard also talked about his step grandpa being a designer at GM, doing concept drawings of what became the sought after GMC motorhomes, that were built at GM Truck and Bus in Pontiac, Mi.
I recommend paying the museum a visit. The museum is at 250 W Pike St., in Pontiac, Michigan. Here is there website; www.pontiactra...

Had the privilege of meeting and getting to know that young man's step-grandfather about a decade before his passing. Kind man and tremendous design talent.

Thank you Howard for sharing. Began my service career at the local Pontiac dealership in 1972. Worked for the same family for 6 years and became Service Manager in 1978. The Pontiacs of the 60's, 70's, and through the early 80's are still so much a part of my life and memories.

Glad you enjoyed the video. A number of friends folks worked in Pontiac, at one or more of the many assembly plants. One friend was third generation at Truck & Bus. He's retired now.

One of my favourite cars is a 1965 Pontiac Parisienne. Dad had a 65 Laurention wagon when I was a kid.

They're still rewiring the building. It's just in its beginning stages. I think in time it will make a great space for a museum.

"We Build Excitement!" Wide Track around Pontiac during Dream Cruise is lots more fun than Woodward through the lower areas. Pontiac folks are really having a party. Down the road they are all in chairs, watching.

Yep, I took it off to see about a used one off a local parts bike. His was too small. They're expensive new and hard to find used, in useable condition. Might try and bump it out in the next few day. Getting the engine paint ready at the moment.

Yeah if I had all my past cars and motorcycles I would be a millionaire! Who would have known back then what no one wanted anymore at the time, would sell for the crazy prices of today's market.

My Dad had a 1964 Laurentian 6 cylinders with PS, PB and 3 on the tree. Sure beat his 1962 Austin Cambridge Countryman.
