Hi Catherine, we went through a phase with our little one. Like you said once the Vet ruled all medical out he asked, if we had changed anything in the house, moved furniture, any alterations. We were at the time in the middle of re decorating our bedroom and that was it - it has upset her. As soon as the room was finished she was fine. You find cats come over all bully boys LOL but they are very sensitive wee soles, bless them, LOVELY video once again, thoroughly enjoyed it. Where was your Mug of Tea? x
Yes, common behavior for "some" kitties that don't like changes in routine, new smells, etc...got to admit, lots going on 😊

I have been watching your channel for several years, may I say you are one of the nicest people to watch. My family is from Ireland a few generations back. My grandmothers name was Clarinden McLanhan. She was born in 1886 and was first or second generation. Any way, I love all your decorations and colors, best wishes on your channel.

We had a cat like that. Stress and change was the cause. A veterinarian once told me,”a cat may look chilled but they are like a duck chilled on the top of the water, but under their feet are petaling like crazy. “ good luck.

Catherine if you ever decide to sell your house and upsize or relocate, the buyer will have a great record of all the renovations you have had done. These videos show how much work and time you have put into keeping your home beautiful.
The house/home photo shoot is going to be epic.
Cats hate aluminum foil so you can cover the bed with it and she won't jump on the bed again.
You could cut the doors in half and make the top half a place to hang clothes and place clothes on shelves on one side. Leave the bottom part for your storage. And seeing as guests don't need to go in the storage area you could place a small bedside unit in front of the bottom doors when guests are staying for their book, coffee, or a lamp to read by.
a little shelf on the side of the cupboard for a bedside "table" just big enough for eye glasses or a drink of water would be nice.
I came here to say that lol. Even a lamp or sconce? Overhead lights can be a bit harsh to read by at bedtime. ❤❤
I always am amazed at what you do with your beautiful home and garden. I'm 70 years old and I used to be able to do so much but I've slowed down😢

70 yr old, too.. it’s always something.. right now I have a torn rotator cuff.. can barely fold the laundry. Can’t put my cast iron skillet in the oven. But, grateful for another day 😉beats the alternative ❤️

A suggestion for wall art in the guest bedroom is for you to photograph several flowers/plants in your lovely garden. Choose three of your favourites and frame them in matching frames. Hang them in a vertical line centred on the wall. By doing this, you have personalized your decor and preserved your gardening successes. ❤
My late cat Kya wa 0:02 0:02 s similar...any stress at all, moving a room round , decorating, she peed my sons bed..test after test and was all down to be a nervous cat who didn't like change..as she got older, it rarely happened and even when my son had seizures, it didn't faze her. Old Jack 20+ had a urine infection...wet my bed ( luckily I always use mattress protectors) changed it all...and yup, before I could get in it, he wet it again...once he got his meds, he never did it again but that shower curtain stayed on the bed fir a few weeks, just in case! 😂 Wee room is lovely, so fresh and warm and stripes make it look bigger too and green my favourite colour! I added mirror tiles on the wardrobe in my wee room...big big mistake with pets...you're cleaning it every day! Love your necessary clutter on the wardrobe...my cupboards the same , at least outta sight! I'd paint the ceiling cream...personally I hate white stark ceilings and think cream is warmer and lowers the ceiling too! 😊ps have a pal who is a decorator and said decorators love caulk so much, it's known in the trade as Painter's Mate! 😂😂 xx
I love my cats, but there are definitely days where the thought, "You're lucky you're cute" comes to mind. I've only had the stress pee a handful of times and I've found that they're so sensitive to change. Once the house calms down they'll return to normal. Inspiring video once again. I'm now eyeing my space to see where I can put a tiny bit more wood trim so it's more elegant.

Cats - Spay is female & Neuter is male.
Sometimes when cats pee outside the litter box, it's their way of telling you something is wrong, urinary tract infection, sometimes.
I don't let my cats in my bedroom. I don't want cat hair and litter paws on my bed or pillows. They walk in the litter box and don't want them walking on my bedding where I sleep. They are not allowed on my counters and certain pieces of furniture, trained with a spray water bottle.
Love your new spring decor,. I have a HOT TIP.. Sprinkle washing powder to remove moss or algae. let Mother natures rain take care of it, works like magic. Thanks Catherine

Bedroom looks lovely Catherine, love the green and cream striped wallpaper, our living room is green and cream and our kitchen cabinets are a nice pale green so it flows through nicely from one room to another, our living room needs decorating and that wallpaper would look really nice, hope your kitten gets out of the habit of weeing on the bed xx

I recently watched a video that made me think OH MY GOODNESS Catherine's kitties would love that! It was Season 1 Episode 1 of Animal Cribs, Tricked Out Cat Castle. They built a lot of things for the cat that I have faith in you could build for your babies.
My cat Lion was a wild outside cat who had to come in after an accident. He hated my laundry detergent scent and peed because of that. Very dominant man he was. After he became good enough to go outside again he choose me to be with, to my surprise. So that detergent never came in my house again. I love how the room became, soft and warm. I bet the hinges of your cupboard sacked what made the knobs uneven.
Hello Catherine. The decorating looks fabulous. I wondered if puss had had his op yet. Bless him. Maybe him being away for a bit and on top of the other bits going on has upset the kitty that's why she is peeing on the bed. I am sure it is only temporary and after all they are both still young and learning. Keep up your good work. Thank you Catherine.
I think you should go with color on the ceiling. Cream would be pretty, or perhaps the pale green. Can't wait to see what you choose.

I always keep mattress covers on my mattresses. You never know when you might spill something that will go through the bedding to the mattress. It’s best to keep it safe.

Great job Catherine! Maybe the knobs aren’t wonky, it looks like the right side door might have dropped a touch, so perhaps if you take it off the hinges and pack out the lower hinge it might align the door? Love you sweetheart! ❤️🍀🌷💐🥰

Hello Catherine and happy Palm Sunday I know it's late in the day. Just wanted to let you know that I did some melt and pour soap in shape of bunny rabbits and carrots and I took them to my Bible study tonight and they were a big hit. Someone asked me where did I learn how to do that I said UA-cam and you're the one that taught me Catherine and I love you for it. I have enjoyed making soap and candles. ❤

Just bought a 100 yr old house in the country (Australia) and we are using Antique White USA as it's a dark house.. no wallpaper as Australia not into wallpaper, we also had water stain on the ceiling, some from possums peeing in the roof, which we've had to stop them going in there, we actually not in the house yet.. The house is on three quarters of an acre.. with out buildings.. Thank you for sharing what you do, I love your channel xx

I keep waterproof mattress covers in my beds all the time. I don’t have the cat pee problem but my cats throw up on the beds. On my guess bed I put a waterproof cover over the top of everything except the decorative cover.

Catherine, Lovely video on the bedroom makeover. I adore the green striped wallpaper with the creamy woodwork. You mentioned needing some sort of artwork. Two lovely botanical pictures (drawings) would look beautiful on the wall beside the wardrobe. White or even creamy color of the wall for the frames. You could draw your own flowers from your garden. Sorry that your beautiful cat has decided to use the beds as potty boxes. I have two cats also, my youngest (Bingo) is a climber and is into every cupboard, closet or box. The other is older (Taz) and was given to me from a friend of my friend. He was raised with big dogs who would steal his food, due to that situation, he gobbles his food down and preceeds to throw up the contents of his stomach. I am forever cleaning up his messes. So I feel for your blight. Taz has gotten sick many times on my bed, living room chair or in his food dish. Enough of that subject. I really enjoy your frankness and humbleness about your life. My cats started to urinate in places other than the litter box. They had struvite crystals . After several visits to the vets and antibiotics for a month there was no improvement. I changed their food, the problem was resolved in 48 hrs, never to return. The problem was their kibble.
My cat used to do this for YEARS! Turns out the diva just didn't like the litter I was using😅 After the litter change she havn't done it since (knock on wood) Good luck with the training❤

Great job! Concerning the wonky knobs, I feel like maybe the whole closet door on the right is wonky, you can adjust that with the screws in the hinges!

The room refresh is lovely! I'm glad the vet has ruled out any physical issues for the peeing outside of the litter box. I think it is probably stress. Some kitties are very sensitive to changes in the house, and even stress of people in the house. Cats are little energy magnets.

Hi Catherine, I live in Kentucky USA. I have 2 cats as well. Sam is 14 and never does anything bad. Daisy is 13 and scratches furniture and if litter box is nasty will poop on the flooring front of the toilet to get my attention. Well yesterday the good cat peed on my bed with me in it near me. WhY? So I too had to stop the bed to the mattress and wash everything. And like you have cats making it hard to remake the bed at their old ages. Love how your guest room turned out. You are the best I have your 1st book and pre ordered the next.

Hi Catherine! It's neuter for boys and spay for girls. You could pick up Feliway to see if will help with Beag's weeing issue. Feliway is a kitty pheromone that gives kitties a sense of calm which decreases their desire to wee inappropriately. You will need to use it for at least 1 month to see if there's a change. Hope this issue clears up soon. Have been through it myself with 2 feline brothers ... vet nurse with multi cat household never works out well🤣

Having had many cats over a long period of time, once they start urinating on fabric or bedding you unless you can get that smell completely out, they will continue to go to that spot because they will smell it.
You may have to end up throwing out a mattress or a fabric or something else because unless you can get that cat urine smell out, you will not be able to keep them away from doing it.

We use Fleiway plugs in. It’s a cat pheromone which works really well. Big hugs love, it’s really stressful, I also use enzyme laundry powder too.
