I feel like you could do this with every band, especially if they've been around for 30+ years.

Then why don't videos exist of other bands? I like Green Day but you have to admit there are a lot of low effort chord progressions in their discography.

All music in the western system is derivative. 😂 Bit of a stretch to claim a song being “ripped off” when a 2 second clip of a riff sounds similar. It’s closer to influence

last week I was messing about with my keyboards, I started a G minor arpeggio on a synth, then messed about with a couple of chords underneath. Whereupon my buddy said "you're playing Stranger Things"..... I don't watch TV, I've never seen stranger things. Not only had I made a similar ostinato over the same two chords, but I'd happened upon very similar sounds on the synth and keys too.
Considering how many millions of people who've sat down to write a song, it's not a surprise that the same thing crops up more than once.
That said, Vanilla Ice is still a thief.
Dum Dum Dum da da Dum Dum.

I also noticed some similarities which might be interesting.
-They recorded a song called F**k Time as the Foxboro Hot Tubs which contains a traditional, widely-used rock n' roll riff. They later re-recorded it for the 10th Green Day album, ¡Dos!. The exact same riff got reused on their 2020 album Father Of All MFs for the song Stab You In The Heart. It's vocal melody is the same as in Ten Years After's Rock And Roll Music To The World (which has the same riff, but as I said, it is one of the most overused guitar melodies in rock music).
-The main riff of Freakout by The Chelsea Smiles also got borrowed for not one, but two tracks on Father Of All, for Fire, Ready, Aim and for Oh Yeah! The only difference is that in Fire, Ready, Aim, they play it faster and in a higher pitch, and in Oh Yeah!, it is played in a slower tempo.

Green Day fans are like children. They refuse to admit the low effort rip off riffs exist. Green Day has a higher frequency of ripping off other artists than pretty much any other current band.

    All art is derivative.
This can be done with everyone's favorite artist... Including mine... (KoRn) They invented an entire music genre, by combining others... so even though it's a new genre, you can still hear the influences... . Same with Beatles... and every single one of everyone's favorite bands.
Would be a much better video to watch if you reviewed music from the mindset of "These are the influences I detect... what about you guys? what did they add to it to make it their own?"
There are many bands that copy way too close, if you think this band is one of them... nope
    That's called pop music.
if the music has the replay value of this band... it's just pointless to argue. Check any streaming service for proof, I don't care which.

Its not rip off if some are just compared in a "seconds long" part of the song.

Emily Haines said in 2011 "We have entered the recycled stage of music" meaning no more original songs can be made with the traditional 4/3 person rock band. The Beatles stole from every 50's jazz band there was, Nirvana stole from Meatpuppets and Pixies, Led Zeppelin stole Stairway's intro from a band that opened for them, 311 stole from Operation Ivy, The opening to Buffy the Vampire Slayer is a direct theft of "The Kid's Aren't Alright" by the Offspring, Black Sabbath stole from Wagner, The Killers "Mr. Brightside" is Blondies "Dreamin", John Lenon stole "Imagine" from Frank Zappa, Huey Lewis and The Ghostbusters... Also 14 of the most famous people who have ever lived said "Good artist borrow, great artist steal!"

That jawbreaker riff is the same riff as that nirvana vaselines cover Molly's lips, there's a muffs song with that riff, and a fifteen song with that riff too(who also are from the bay and came up at the same exact time as green day and jawbreaker). All in all just a classic punk riff. Like that one Ramones riff. I know I was real specific lol 😅 my old punk brain is mush these days!

Horseshoes and Handgrenades sounds like Main Offender by the Hives. Jesus Of Suburbia has a part that sounds like Summer of 69 by Bryan Adams. And the new album's title track rips off Sweet Child O' Mine. Billie Joe's songs have gotten a lot more unoriginal since he started trying to make everything more pop than punk. Still love a lot of GD's music though.
Oh and I had to come back to point out that Look Ma No Brains ALSO rips off Doublewhiskeycokeonice

Musical notes and melodies are very limited artists are bound to make songs that will sound similar to other songs. Plus if you’re inspired by certain artists psychologically you will want to sound similar to them because that’s the music you like. Saying something is a rip off is not valid criticism.
