Love the designs. May know this already but I use cooking spray on my metal cutters and they come out super easy. Also parchment paper to keep them from sticking on the pan.
These are gorgeous! You're the first person who I've watched out of a lot of videos that showed the making of how to get the same scents in different colors. I know it's kinda of common sense but you method was different.
@@BrookeClark I’ve ordered from two places. Scentimental Gifts and Lone Star Candle supply. I didn’t have any complaints on the ones from SG but I’ve noticed that the ones from LSCS come out of the cookie cutters a lot easier and they are less expensive.
I haven’t ever used a coffee scent but two of the popular ones that I know of are Brazilian coffee from Buy It Ship It and Coffee house by The Flaming Candle. Do you mean coffee mug or coffee cup? I know Ann Clark Cookie Cutters has the cup, they may have the mug too!
Can you tell me where I might find the small cross please? I've subscribed to your channel, your tutorials are point on and your work is phenomenal!!! Thank you for sharing 🥰
I just had a suggestion for this same thing yesterday! I have added it to my list but I will definitely bump it up to get it posted sooner ☺️ thank you for the request!
Thankyou for sharing your tutorial, I’ve watched countless videos and some leave out steps. How long do the scents last? I have all my supplies and I’m about to bake some. I have 6 scents but need to get more jars to do the mixed colors. Did you use the larger jars? I had small pints hoping there is enough room to mix correctly. Again Thankyou for the tutorial (new subby here)
The first ones I made last about 3 wks and then they started to fade. I found additional information online that says you should keep the beads sealed for 7-10 after they are dry to continue curing and baking them without allowing that extra time will make the scent weaker and not last as long so I’ve just started doing that and I’m hoping for a good result! I have the pint size jars as well. Because I do a lot of the two tone designs I feel that size works well. They will take 1.5 cups of beads and still leave enough room to shake. Depending on the size and shape of your cookie cutters two pint size jars with 1.5 cups of beads in each will make 6-10 freshies. Thanks for subscribing and good luck with your freshies!!
The mason jar and arrowhead I ordered from Ann Clark Cookie Cutters and the mini cross came from Hobby Lobby, I believe they are in the clay section or the baking section….I can’t remember off the top of my head.
So the fragrance that’s used for these is the same that’s used in candles so it’s really no different than what a candle puts off into the air when it’s burning. Of course if you are more comfortable having a vent fan on then that won’t hurt anything. Now if I’m being honest, if there was something harmful being put into the air I would say it would be from the plastic beads themselves. Plastic releases harmful chemicals when burned (these aren’t being heated to the same extent so not sure if it’s the same thing) and I have heard to not drink out of a water bottle that’s been left in a hot car because the plastic releases chemicals into the water (once again a little different because that’s being ingested not inhaled). I will say that if you have birds in the house DO NOT bake freshies in your home! It will harm them.
It’s actually a mason jar but now that you’ve said candle I totally see it! Here is the link 🙂 www.annclarkcookiecutters.com/product/mason-jar-cookie-cutter/shapes
The bags came from Amazon, you can search holographic bags to see the different options and sizes. If you don’t want to use mica you can use liquid candle dye……food coloring won’t work.
Hi Do you use you main oven? is it safe to cook food in after you've baked the beads or would you recommend a separate oven? Great tutorial by the way!
I use my kitchen oven! I can’t really speak on the safety of it but food baked in the same oven doesn’t taste like fragrance or anything like that. Some people do use small toasters ovens so if you have any concerns that’s an alternative option ☺️ thank you so much!!
Does it matter if you add color with the oils or can you add after after the beads dry as well? Which is better? I think I messed up. I did not add color first. The beads are dry now.
You can do it both ways! Just start with a tiny amount of color and slowly add more…..adding too much mica can prevent the beads from sticking together.
Do u spraying cooking non stick spray on yours or do u just use a non stick pan? And what company to u get your beads from if u dont mind me asking xoxo A 😋
Hi so I've watched your videos before now that I have what ib need to make air freshies. I made some Friday before going back over the videos. I didn't let mined cure gor for 7-10 days after beads soaked the fragrance and I had a hard time getting them out. I have a non stick pan so I'm wondering if I need to spray the cookie cutters with cooking spray first ?
Many people don’t cure their beads and say they have no problems. I didn’t let mine cure the first few batches because none of the tutorials I watched even mentioned curing. Some people swear by it and others say it’s pointless, I personally feel like it does help with strength and longevity. You can use a nonstick spray or mold release spray. But that may not be necessary, I’ve never used one, the only time I’ve had an issue getting them out of the cutters was when I forgot about them and I WAY over baked them. How long are you waiting before you try to get them out? Also where did you buy your beads, some beads can be easier to get out than others.
I am just trying today for the first day to mix my aroma beads with the mica powder and the fragrance oil and what’s very strange is the blue almost seems dry within a couple hours the other ones all seem still wet
How were u measuring the fragrance oil to bead ratio if u weren't weighing them? I'm curious bc ur the 1st one I've seen do it this way...everyone else says they have to be weighed. (I'm not saying ur doing it wrong bc idk what I'm doing I'm just curious 🤪😃)...Also, I've seen pretty much everywhere that the ratio is 2oz of fragrance oil to 8oz of beads but I was on Lonestar Candle Company's website the other day & they say with their aroma beads & fragrance oil u use 1oz to 16oz beads! I haven't ordered from them yet but I will be soon. Have u ordered any oils & beads from them & have u tried 1oz to 16oz like they recommend? I'm wondering how well those smell & if they last? If they do, u could save a lot of $ making them with that ratio! I'm gonna have to test this out & see how it works!
So in this tutorial I was going off of the majority of other tutorials I’d seen on UA-cam, I had only seen a couple where they were weighing everything. It seemed to work for so many and I didn’t have a scale so that’s how I did it. I am weighing everything now and showed how to do that in my updated full tutorial BUT I have done some experimenting and compared weight to volume, in this video the measurements fall between an 8:1 ratio and an 8:2 ratio, I moved to weighing everything so I can get the full 8:2 ratio without worrying about adding too much oil.
I mostly order from Lonestar ☺️ although I’ve never seen that on their website, I would say that’s not quite enough fragrance oil, I really haven’t heard about anyone else adding less than 1 oz of oil to 8 oz of beads. I add 2 oz of oil to 8 oz of beads which is suppose to be the max.... it never hurts to try it out but in my experience I would say that’s not enough.
I have used beads from Lone Star Candle Supply, Aztec Candle and Buy It Ship It. I believe all of the beads I’ve used have performed the same and would recommend all of these companies. I usually just buy my beads from wherever I’m ordering my fragrance so I don’t have to pay an extra shipping cost. Lately I’ve only been ordering from Buy It Ship it because so far I love their oils and they offer 10 lbs of beads for $25 which is an awesome deal….I think they are typically $32-$34 from other places for the same amount.
I got most of these from Ann Clark Cookie Cutters the Texas and mason jar are the largest ones I have. A few of mine have come from a local cooking shop where I live. I think Buy It Ship It has cookie cutters and they offer large and small in many shapes.
Yes ma’am! Many people do. Sometimes I use a textured silicone baking mat to make a pretty design on the back and it peels off super easy, you can buy a smooth mat as well. I’ve never used parchment paper so I’m not sure how much of a difference it makes but I do know you can use it.
My favorites are Baja Cactus, vanilla cotton and love spell….I feel like I might be missing one but I can’t think of it… I know they are ok up to 3 months in the bag. I haven’t tested any past that point so it could be longer.
So the beads are ready when they're dry? I read somewhere that they need to cure an additional 7 to 10 days after they dry out. I'm too impatient for that 😅
So at the time of when I filmed this video I was doing my first run and following the majority of the tutorials I had watched which all said that as soon as they were dry you could bake them (which you can) BUT after doing further research I discovered the same thing as you, that you want them to cure for an additional 7-10 days and that some people even let them cure for weeks or months! I’m still in the testing phase (impatiently waiting the additional 7-10 days) it is suppose to make them stronger and last longer. The ones I baked immediately still lasted 4-5 wks but they definitely weren’t as strong as I would have liked. Good luck, I’m super impatient too lol!
Most of mine have come from “Ann Clark Cookie Cutters” but “Stay Fresh With Peanut” has a good selection too! You can also get them in baking/cooking shops in your area.
So if you want to measure by volume it would be 1 tablespoon oil to every 1/2 cup beads (so 3 tablespoons oil for 1.5 cups beads) If you want to measure by weight it would be 1 weighted ounce to ever 4 weighted ounces of beads. I also suggest letting your beads cure 7-10 after the beads soak up all the oil, it really makes a difference!!
I get my power from Amazon and Mid Micas. Fragrance I get from a lot of different companies but I would recommend Buy It Ship It and Studio Fragrance 😊
I’ve ordered from, Wellington, Lone Star Candle Supply and Scentimental Gifts. My favorite is Lone Star but only because that’s where I get my beads so I don’t have to pay additional shipping for fragrance and because they are based out of Texas where I live so shipping is super quick but all of the oils I’ve bought have been high quality and the only reason I’ve ordered from different companies is because none of them offer all of the scents I want.

Are aroma beads the same thing as crystal mini discs? I'm trying to find them in the store and they don't have the exact name and I don't know exactly how they look up close
No, I actually just had to look those up because I had never heard of them. It appears those are made of glass and would not absorb fragrance oil. I haven’t heard of any stores that sell aroma beads aside from candle supply stores. Depending on where you live there may not be one in your area. The best place to find aroma beads is online from a candle supply company, Buy It Ship It or Stay Fresh With Peanut.

For some reason I’m just now seeing this comment.....I’m so sorry I missed it! That will depend on what size cutters you’re using and how high you fill the cutters.....for 1 lb I’ve gotten anywhere between 6-12
Where did you get the small cross cookie cutter from?
Hobby Lobby in the clay section ☺️

Hello, my beads stick to the molding, what can I do so they don't stick to me?
You can use a mold release spray on the cookie cutter before baking

Am I missing the supply list? Other gals I follow provided a supply list & who they buy from which makes it helpful to gals like me just starting out lol, I'mprobablyover looking it maybe?? I love your tutorials I usually can'thave the volume on so I'mprobablymissing something!? You do an amazing job honey. Beautiful!! Ty ♡💜😘💕
Thank you for you comment and kind words! There isn’t a supply list 😕 this was my very first video so I didn’t think about doing a list, I wish I had! BUT I just got done filming another video where I do this process all over again with MUCH more detail, including supplies and where to get them. I’m also going to list all of it in the description once I’m ready to upload. It will probably be up tomorrow. So sorry for the rookie mistake 😬 I’m still learning.
I have a question about the beads you said you at times buy yours from buyitshipit I went to buyitshipit and place an order of beads but they asked what shape of beads my question is what shape do you buy? Thank you
Where did you get your cookie cutters?
