You had to fight cancer and reconsider your priorities in life. But daring to share such a dire period is even more courageous and insightful. I shared your suffering. This could be material to write your own opera booklet! Glad you’re now all smiles!

Soula your words shocked me. I had exactly the same oncology experience as you at the age of 24. Worries and fears were identical, listening to you was like giving voice to all my thoughts. You made me cry with those same tears you describe in the video. Today we are here, still with our voice, still being able to sing thank God. Thank you for giving this message of “wealth” that you can bring into your life after such a traumatic experience ♥️🙏🏻✨🌞

You r so right... I'm an OLD mezzo now, but when i was young i use to think like that, that i was just a singer, but i am much more than that... I am the ultra tall blakc girl that like to take care of the farm, that did punch more than 7 guys in the face in my life, the one that hate coffee and so go one.

It's so easy to fall into that trap isn't it? I think sometimes that kind of thinking is reinforced in school too. I'm so glad you realized your worth and how much more you have inside. I wish you a wonderful day!

Thank you!! And you are WELCOME! We sometimes get wrapped up in the "how to" of building this career, but it's always good to step back and remind everyone about the real life stories too. Thanks a lot for being here and for your kind comment.

Yes as a singer we want to exude single-minded confidence. As an individual human being overcoming obstacles that life throws at us we also learn to be humble, understanding and accept to correct our mistakes.

You are so brave and beautiful! Thank you for sharing your story with us Soula! You inspire me so much and I totally resonate with you saying that it’s important to find joy in multiple things and being driven in a healthy way. I am so happy that you are past this and in remission. A lot of times people will say things that promote a really unhealthy perspective about being an artist and that it needs to be your life. Personally I believe it can be an amazing thing in your life but it doesn’t have to define everything you are. ❤️

Awww Sarah, thank you. YES! We need to live our LIVES and ENJOY them!!!! And being a singer is amazing too! Having a balanced life will give you longevity in your artistic life and this job is just a tool for greater things! I personally hope to create a platform through my work and singing that will eventually benefit others in a very tangible way beyond just enjoying the music. That goal helps me push through the setbacks and disappointments. I believe we all have a higher purpose and multiple tools to achieve it. Bless you, my friend!!

Living Opera absolutely! You said it perfectly. Having both a platform to connect with others and singing performances sounds like an amazing balance. 🥰 can’t wait to see your platform reach even more people!

You’re such an inspiration! ❤️ such strength, such focus... you blow my mind! I’m like you were, an extreme decision making type of person but I can’t seem to focus. It’s all a mess. I’m not afraid of saying this numbness and the feeling of watching life passing me by isn’t new to me, sometimes darkness is all I see but I think I’m still here cause I have a dream. And little by little I’m fighting for it and for a better brighter life. Thank you so much! Your openness and kindness makes a difference! You deserve the world ❤️😘

Dear Rafaella, always remember what I told you those months ago! Everything is going to work together for your good!! Keep fighting and don't beat yourself up if you get tired or sad sometimes - that's normal. It's okay to feel that way. And then, we get up, and we go another step. Just another step. You can do it!! (And thank you for your kind words!!)
