In this video, i wanted to sit down with my subscribers and talk about my current career transition, as well as another career transition earlier in my life. I was an opera singer as my main profession for 8 years, but I wanted to talk about why that career no longer fit me anymore.

Wow, thank you for sharing your story! Beautiful top notes! I am an opera singer myself, but I sometimes think about transitioning due to understanding that you can not be opera singer forever... Could you say that your life have become easier once you dropped opera? I sometimes wonder do I invent struggles or this is really harsh profession for me :) 😆

Thanks, Berzubirze. I always like engaging on this topic, because it's so personal. I would say that my life became easier once I pursued a different career, but I was fortunate to have an opportunity that took me in a completely different direction. Opera is unfortunately not an art that you can be half in/half out from my perspective, but if you can manage keeping it in your life, i think it's worth it. I have transitioned to making completely different music, but that itch needs to be scratched, and i just don't do it through opera anymore. The biggest problem with opera is that it's not merit based, the best person for the job doesn't always get it. And the harsh reality is that the audience for opera is dying off, leaving the entire art form to exist almost entirely in an academic atmosphere. People will continue to study opera, and perform it, but the idea that every city should have an opera house is no longer the case. It's only rewarding if you can continue to do it without starving. Some thoughts.
