Not big on replying, I see. But just wanted to mention that one of the best parts of using a glass pen (cleaning it, actually) is dipping it in clean water to see the beautiful patterns the ink makes in the water. : )

Thanks for the video. I didn't know you could have italic style in glass pens! This was a revelation!
Question: I would like to mix inks so that while writing, one colour flows into another. Is that possible with glass pens? Could you do a sample video or have advice on this?
    Thanks.

You could mark the sweet spot side with a dot of your nail varnish.

Sumi ink works great in glass pens. It cleans off easily, more easily than India ink.

А чернила с пальцев хорошо смывать теплым молоком.

I've just bought my first glass dip pen, can you recommend a type and brand of ink? I loved your video 😀

Which pen did u go with? Reviews on amazon looked positive with many of the pens. I ordered a few to inspire my kids to work on their handwriting. Plus i got one for my travel sketch journal..

Try a Sumi ink, or ink specifically for dip pens, not fountain pens

I use Iroshizuku inks by Pilot and I love them. Flows really well in the channels and leaves a consistent color

Glass pen users do it write! Could not help myself. I love pens, especially fountain and glass pens.

where did you buy these? Are they lead free? How do I know if the glass was made with lead or not? Thank you.

The inks match your beautiful nails: and ink stains. Hysterical. Lovely video. Beautiful writing. I have been using glass pens for about a year. My question is about how to sand down or rework the tips of chipped pens. They
are so delicate and inevitably, I knock the tips and ruin them. Any advice? Thanks for the video.

      Polish it in fire.

@@redpillciswhitefemale6598 interesting suggestion. Is there a tutorial?

    • @joannecarson5568

@@redpillciswhitefemale6598 Don’t fire polish it. The tip will ball up and then the ink won’t run down the channels. That is why the tips are snapped off and sanded instead of melted.

      Hi Robbin,
Do not fire polish the tip of a glass pen. The glass will ball up and block the channels, preventing the flow of ink.
Lucas Mahoney has a few great videos showing the fabrication of a glass pen from start to finish. Look up his video “How to make dip pen nibs pt.3 finishing a nib/sanding and shaping the tip”. Hopefully there is enough of the nib left on your pens to rework them. The line will probably be much wider. For a fine tip again, it may have to be melted, drawn out, and finished again.

What is the best type of paper to use for these pens? I’ve tried regular notebook paper and writing pad paper but the pen seems to collect fibers from the paper and I also get blots absorbing into the paper.Thank you in advance.

Hi! Generally, you’ll want to go with paper that’s coated. Tested brands are Rhodia or something that uses Tomoe River paper. Glass nibs are sharp!

Irritating, especially when you keep chinking the pens together, or bashing the pen on the ink bottle......was you aware they were glass? I see people have asked you questions and you havent bothered to reply..... maybe theres a reason you only have 109 likes out of 7,000 views, and only 228 subscribers.
