Brooooooo, this was you're best video ever! I absolutely loved the cross brand comparisons. Fantastic editing too. Please do a million more of these types of videos!
i am so sad the driller for bowlers paradise retired a while ago. he did a great job. shot all but 5 of my 300's and all but 2 of my 800's with balls he drilled. and he and the rest of the staff always treated me well.
Hey, this is a great video and I like you including the two hander for an extra look. I've transitioned to handed so it helps me even though my ball speed isn't that high
I just picked up the Widow 2.0 Hybrid and I absolutely love this ball. I usually start with the Widow Ghost and when the Ghost finally can't make the corner once I get even further left, that's where the Hybrid shines. I can pitch it out there and I never worry about it not making it back. Serious angle, continuation and pin carry. This ball is a beast.
Recently subscribed, love the cross brand reviews. I am a 2 handed bowler and I appreciate at the end of the video that you had one of your students who bowls like me review the balls as well. Can you start including 2 handed reviews in ball reviews? Thank you!!
Very nice comparison. Would have to agree. I have recently discovered that balls with a large intermediate differential & relatively milder coverstock, such as the Radical Trail Blazer Hybrid work very well on league house patterns with a strong forward rolling finish through the pins.
I call my Black Widow 2.0 Hybrid my "crazy ex-girlfriend." No matter how far I throw her out, she always comes back making a lot of noise. I haven't touched the surface and am averaging 215 with eight games in medium to heavy oil. A thing of beauty...
Just got my 2.0 today. I’m new to understanding the difference between housballs and custom balls. I bowled with 12lb ball and now this 2.0 15lb major huger difference
Widow 2.0 Hybrid is the all time benchmark to the ZEN and the Purple Hammer. I'm a tweener working on my delivery and rev rate but this ball when thrown right makes me look like EJ.
Always enjoy the videos and I like your perspective. So I have a Widow 2.0 with a 2000 finish. Love is strength and how much motion I get out of it considering I'm a typical lefty up to 10 board. When it's jumping off of the spot too hard, I typically ball down to a UC3 at box surface to give me a little bit more length with the same strength and continuation. My problem is sometimes I get too much length. I've tried to play with the surfaces and I cannot find a consistent look. Either I still sail with not enough surface or jump like my Widow2.0 with too much surface. Would a Widow Hybrid be a better ball down?
I lost all my bowling balls in a house fire. I used to bowl league, but haven't been to an alley in years. Is the 2.0 a good first ball to get back into the sport? I throw about 15mph and have medium rev rate.
First off, I'm sorry about the fire. I hope you've been able to bounce back with relative ease in such a tough situation. If you're jumping back into the sport and are looking at Hammer, I think the Widow 3.0 would be a better option. I don't know anyone who hasn't loved it, and its a great starting point to build an arsenal around.
Amateur bowler here, averaging 170 though hitting 200 at least once a session. I'm feeling like I'm plateuing. I know there's more work to be done on my form, just wondering if a different ball is needed to match my style. I'm fairly low Rev and play pretty straight. Currently throwing IQ tour emerald and crux prime. What are your thoughts? Is there a ball that's better for me?
It’s between the absolute and the Polaris. Still core dominant, but not as much as the absolute. Mid lane torque is it’s best feature. It’s also discontinued.
Appreciate the video and the breakdown! I know you mentioned in the video that this ball is better for the lower axis point player or that ball might work better for your more rev dominant player or higher axis rotation player. I am curious what would be considered a lower axis tilt or someone who is rev dominant. I only ask as I have been researching and getting more into equipment and layouts I find some things are very generalized and I seen some people can fall into a lot of different ranges. Myself I throw the ball around 15.5 mph off my hand with revs about 320-330 on avg with an axis tilt of around 10. I've been told I'm rev dominant, mildly rev dominant and also been told I am matched. I have been looking at a hybrid cover stock ball and the BW 2.0 was one I thought I wanted to try but lot of people saying with my characteristics it won't be good. Just makes it all the more confusing! So was just curious your thoughts on what you said in the video about what you considered rev dominant, low tilt high axis in regards to your comments. Thank you!
Great questions. 1. Low axis tilt would be 10* or less, so you're right on the bubble. 2. I would bet you're more in the balanced/tweener category with the numbers your provided. Typically rev rates have to exceed 400 to get into rev dominant territory in my opinion. This is also a subjective measure. 3. I would agree you might struggle with the widow 2.0 as it is a high risk, high reward motion. Something like a Storm Summit or Hammer Dark Web Hybrid (review coming) would probably serve you better.
@@bowlersparadise2255 Appreciate the reply! I have a Venom Shock symmetrical (i know def not the same as the Summit or the Dark Web Hybrid). Was trying to find an Asymm to compliment that, something that would be good first out on league shots. I know Infinite physix is year old but it seemed very versatile. The Absolute was another interesting option I was thinking of (with a surface change) curious your thoughts on an asymm for tweener stats like mine (15.5 320ish about 10 tilt 40ish rotation) for fresh house league shots. Thanks! Love the channel btw
Hey! I’m a newbie who got bit pretty hard by the bug and bought a raw hammer black about two months back and I’m loving it! Average is currently around 155-160. Would you say getting one of these high-end pieces now would be going to big too fast or would it be a wise purchase if I’d want to start taking bowling a little more seriously?
@@bowlersparadise2255 Good to know. Thank you! Out of the ones you mentioned, would you have any recommendations for someone who's rev dominant with low axis rotation (40-60deg) and a 0deg axis tilt?
Hyped solid gives me great consistency even in transition on house shots. It has taken the slot of my reality check (for now)as my staple ball. Im two hander as well
No. Tilt isn’t what causes 9 pins. Angle through the pins does. He puts 500+ RPM on it and makes a lot of angle. Asyms roll harder off the spot and maintain angles better.
@@bowlersparadise2255 so I would have to move to the right and throw it out left. I guess it all depends on one's bowling style and how one throws the ball.
@@bowlersparadise2255 I just shot my very first five games with the DV8 brutal collision played the lanes like I usually do which is on the outer part of the lane and in one of my games had the front five with it.
The problem with these...by the time these comparison vids are released and other people even get to the vid, half of the balls are discontinued. I just saw this vid today and RTSX3, Reality Check, and I think Polaris (I'm not sure) are discontinued list. A company like Storm releases so many international releases that the turnover is incredibly quick. The pandemic was eye-opening. There was such a disparity of who was even bowling so alot of balls didn't really get a fair hearing on the market
That rstx-3 was a dud. Ball was terrible. Tried changing the surface twice, and gave it to a friend who that more revs then me. He left it on the rack after 2 games
One of the best comparison styles videos I have ever seen, Very well done. Please give is more of those with the other style balls as well.
Thanks Kevin! That’s the plan!

The comparison style video is super helpful! Especially when you break down what ball will fit what style best. Thanks!
Glad you liked it Nathan!
Comparisons exactly what I was looking for, more like this would be great.
If they’d stop releasing so many dang bowling balls I’d be able to do more of these lol
Great vocabulary/description that matched the action/movement on screen. 👏

Very good informative video. I have the Black Widow, very good ball. Does exactly what you say
Glad I’m not totally off base! Lol. Wouldn’t be the first time!
Nice video..... What drilling did you use for this test? And what lane condition.. Normal 35 ft?
Love my Polaris Hybrid. Easily the most versatile ball in my bag.
Glad to hear it Jake!
Widow 2.0 Hybrid is the all time benchmark to the ZEN and the Purple Hammer. I'm a tweener working on my delivery and rev rate but this ball when thrown right makes me look like EJ.
Agreed about the Zen. It was my favorite ball before the Widow. It goes through the pins like it is a 20lb ball.
Which one of these is the quick response ball? Thanks!
Well done sir! Bravo.

It would be a ball down, and a move right. HK22 is no joke and it’ll run sideways on ya much more than a UC3 but you’d like it.

Glad you liked it. Nova got discontinued unfortunately.
The Mythic Jackal is my all time favorite asym hybrid
I’m bummed I missed out on that one.
The Polaris hybrid. Where would you put that ball in? More or less than the Zen?
Similar in overall strength. Zen more continuous
What about the nova? It seems like it's better on more oil and house patterns with 42-44 feet. I have had trouble with it on lighter oil 38 ft.
