Was so immersed in the video I forgot to add - only really discovered John' last year and am now a committed fan. UA-cam is a treasure trove of videos of his concerts, interviews, documentaries, I dive into them daily and often find uploads that I haven't seen before. I love every one of his songs, not a dud note in any of them. I love his personality, his love and admiration for, and constant acknowledgment of, his backing singers and band. and the orchestras that lift his stratospheric performances even higher. He gets my heart and soul every time. (Long Way to the Top with the MSO - the conductor looks as though he's in music heaven!). I have no trouble crying tears of pure happiness and joy. He takes me to my happy place. I wish him well, and a long and happy life with his family and friends. Jan. 24. UK. E♥️

I don’t remember seeing this before so thank you for sharing. John was phenomenal even way back then. Have loved him from the beginning and his fan club was the only one I ever joined. 😘💕🥰

I love how he's so genuinely himself, and continued to be throughout his whole performing life. The third song is amazing, and has everything that would become his signature as his career progressed - interacting with the audience, getting them to sing certain parts, playing with the mic, the infectious enthusiasm and joy in performing, and of course his amazing voice. And then I got to Yesterday. Wow. Amazing upload.

Still performing like this with his great voice, fun demeanour & engaging with the audience & still admired by SO many. Can't believe some didn't think he was a credible singer, were they deaf? So glad he found his voice & made it, how could he not!

Wow... Haven't seen this before. That "a hair-dresser" manager held his career back, controlling everything...what he wore, what he sung, what he recorded. must have been so tough for John to go through. Thank goodness he eventually sacked him. You still can see the early stages of his audience interaction and hints of that "voice".

What a great rendition of Yesterday. Incredibly John Farnham didn’t have any training or coaching, just pure natural talent. It’s amazing to have both audio & visual recording of this performance from fifty one years ago! Thank you for posting it 🙏

@@CC3193 Yes! I'd never heard this. It's better than The Beatles version - a lot more loaded emotion.
