  • Turn the Ship Around! by L. David Marquet | Major Points | Leadership Book Summary
One thing I’ve come to understand through all of my various job experiences is that leadership is learned. It is a skill that, just like any other, needs to be studied, practiced, and honed to produce a quality result. Leadership ability does not magically appear simply due to one’s higher rank or greater seniority in a workspace or on a team. As Stephen R. Covey writes in the Forward of "Turn the Ship Around!," "Remember, leadership is a choice, not a position." The Leadership Book Series seeks to help develop those who are true leaders, not just nominal ones. In this series, we review the top books on leadership and analyze the major ideas presented in each book. After each book review, I encourage you to go out to your neighborhood bookstore or your local library, pick up a copy, and see what more you can take from the author’s advice. The more you know, the more you grow!

I managed to chance on this video, and your presentation and reviews were on point. I didn't even know I was practicing some leadership styles and principles.
Thank you so much. Positive presentation. Awards should be in abundance.

I'm not sure if you check this anymore Ma'am, but would you ever consider doing a podcast?

Hi there! I still check the comments. I’ve considered a blog, and will probably do that. It mostly comes down to how much time I have outside of work. I put a pause on this channel because I short-notice deployed and was exhausted when I got back. I’m slowly trying to get back to making videos again without burning myself out. So a podcast? I’d speak on someone else’s, but I don’t currently have the bandwidth to start my own.

Your fire hose analogy is on point but is wrong you get a fire extinguisher to the fire first then in two minutes you need to get a fire hose to the fire but I really like your shell and I really like your explanation keep it up and only reason I’m picking on you because I’m a submariner
