I have tried these strings. I really like them. The ONLY problem is my local dealer don't have them. I have been using the elixir lights but when playing outside and not amplified the terrible end is a little thin. The hd lights took care of this problem. I got my strings out of town while visiting my brother. I got them at the guitar center. I put them on my Gibson j-45. What a difference it made in the volume in the treble. So I go to my local dealer which is 30 miles away and when I ask for them they had not heard of them. I wanted to put them on my hd-28. Guess I'll have to order them. But yes. Try them you will like them.

Wow that sounds nice, I loved that ragtime lick... I love Elixor! I just wish they made nylon strings for my Ibanez classical 😞

Lovely sound, beautiful playing, very authentic. Reminds me of Stefan Grossman when you finger pick. Good stuff.

Hey, nice review. I own an HD28, and it's a great guitar, but I think I'd like to get into something similar to what you are play, perhaps an om21 or om28. I find the HD28 to be a bit thick and less articulate than I want. In fact, I've got a Martin 000X1AE (DX series), which doesn't sound as good as the HD28, but is far more enjoyable to play in terms of its harmonics and responsiveness, etc. In any case, if you've play the HD28, how would you compare it to you 28EC.

Thank you very much! I own several Martins and I've mainly always played dreadnought size...until I got my 28EC. The 28EC is really a completely different guitar compared to a dread sized guitar. The 000-28 size doesn't have the volume of a dread size and the tones are completely different as well. (A D-28 is going to be "boomier" than a 000-28...the D-28 is going to have a deeper tone as well) In my opinion, I can't imagine anyone not liking a 000-28EC...but it would probably be in your best interest to find one and play it to make sure it's "your thing".

Kudos, you are a fantastic acoustic guitar player! Question: they are know to last longer and keep brilliance more than ordinary strings. Do you confirm that? Also, did you compare them with Martin SP Lifespan strings, by any chance? Thanx!

How well do they bend compared to say the standard polyweb light set? Excellent playing btw!
