RIP Kenny Rogers - “Ruby, Don’t Take Your Love to Town”
I was heartbroken to hear that we lost the legendary Kenny Rogers today. This is one of the first tunes I remember being obsessed with as a kid...along with “Lucille”, “Coward of the County”, and of course “The Gambler”. God bless Kenny Rogers. And God bless Mel Tillis. What a song.

Here is a tune that I learned from Earl Scruggs backstage at the Grand Ole Opry when I was 11...the “Georgia Buck”. I used to play this with finger picks, like Earl, but I’m too rusty and I couldn’t find my finger picks. Here ‘tis anyhow. Played on a brand new Bourgeois L-DB0.

Cake does a great cover of this song. Also, Norm MacDonald and Adam Corolla ( both of whom played DEATH on Family guy) Discuss Ruby and Coward of the county on Adam's podcast. Hilarious stuff
Tiss, pure talent, nothing more, nothing less!!....
Such a genuine, sincere delivery. You are a calm powerhouse.
Awesome playing, I’ve been wondering how this would sound for country style, I just picked up a three pickup version
When you have a lot of time alone to work on things, you can get really good at things. Great playing.
Is this the deep body version? Im looking into buying that exact model
Pure, unpretentious, soulful, God-given talent coming out without anything to get in the way. Thank you, Trey. Beautiful control of vibrato in your voice.
Just found this. Spectacular brother!
Best🤗🔥

Nice
Dang, brother--that's some fine playing right there. Mighty impressive!
Wow...I wish I could play like that. Well done!
What key are you playing that in
Hmm sound doesn’t seem to gel with tempo on guitar vs his voice. It’s like he’s bashing the guitar.
Superb!
Beautiful bro! Hey how’d you play that first part? I wanna learn that part! Thank you!
I like the Madagascar sound better than the mahogany one.
Wow this sounds great. No torrefied top either? The neck must be prefect for you. Amazing guitar picked by a true musician
He's Pick'n & I'm Grinning..& together we're Pick'n & Grinning!!!!
stunning!
Wonderful!
You should do a tutorial on this man 👌
Ruby was written and performed by Mel Tillis before The First Edition
Great playing
Béautiful country voice and solid guitar playing 🎉
Love this. Would have loved to know if it's mahogany back and sides or rosewood, difficult to tell.
Great guitaring my friend!!
I have tried these strings. I really like them. The ONLY problem is my local dealer don't have them. I have been using the elixir lights but when playing outside and not amplified the terrible end is a little thin. The hd lights took care of this problem. I got my strings out of town while visiting my brother. I got them at the guitar center. I put them on my Gibson j-45. What a difference it made in the volume in the treble. So I go to my local dealer which is 30 miles away and when I ask for them they had not heard of them. I wanted to put them on my hd-28. Guess I'll have to order them. But yes. Try them you will like them.
Good Lord, that is so good!
How is this kid not famous ?
Wow. Very, very nice. You've got some Keith Whitley in those vocals.
Sweet
Ive listened to hank for a long time. You are the real deal. I second all these notions. Please do some kind of class or tutorial on this

You got a new fan for sure! 👈 I enjoy your signing & picking very much. 😊
You got it! Just loved this! So nice & beautiful.
Amazing!! I hope you made it as a prof musician, you really deserves it.
Rocking! If I may say so :)
Fantastic

Amazing!
Awesome!
Excellent job this is definitely the best cover of this song I've ever heard great flatpicking and a beautiful voice keep up the good work my friend, Mel Tillis and Kenny Rogers would be proud
I can't believe not too many people watch this amazing cover. Congratulations man!
Hi there, thank you for sharing your thoughts on those two fine guitars and pick. You mentioned you liked your 1 3/4 nut. Is your bridge spacing 2 5/16? What are your neck shape thoughts: soft v, soft c...? Thank you!
