ohhhh myyyyy goodnesssss, your daughter creating and reading that "kid's menu" was precious. You have definitely developed an appreciation for food and cooking in your daughter, and love to see them help! You are such a great example! I wish I had started more of home growing and cooking when mine were younger, I just didn't know any better! I just recently found you and LOVE your vlog! I'm still dreaming of my farmhouse, but learning in the home I have for now with my family of 6.
Omg the kids menu! And the beautiful description! And the sparkling water that has been loved “since the beginning of time”! 😂 Precious Never a dull moment in your house 💕
I'm obsessed with these videos even though it's just me and my husband that I have to cook for. I'd love to see what you guys snack on in between meals (if you do)
Love these videos. I feel like I get stuck in a rut sometimes with cooking. We love eating the same things over and over, but it's nice to switch it up a bit. Your recipes are always a hit!
First, I love your sweater! Everything looked delicious! I used to love barley and wheat grain in soups and stews. Now I use oat groats instead. They have the same texture and taste almost the same.
I know I am watching this a year later from when it is posted, but this post was so much fun to watch. Thank you for sharing your passion and gift of cooking with us.
I've used leftover dried bread cubes which would be used for stuffing in my meatloaf. And I, too, loved hearing your daughter read the menu! So cute! You have a lovely family and I enjoy watching you cook.
Loved all of the dishes you made for the week. Delicious!!!!! Highlight was your daughter reading off a special night menu with such feeling. Loved it.
You make the coziest, most wholesome, most delicious looking what we eat videos. Thank you so much for the inspirations for soul-full, lovingly made cooking.
You are super Mum too. Think of all the things you are juggling right now and you just do it. We all are. Remember this lady has help and she must be super fertile. (The opposite of me and so many others).
Always love your videos! They give me such a perspective shift and make me super excited to try the new recipes for the weeks to come. Thanks so much h!! Quick question, where did you find truffle mustard?!
Seeing the menu your kids made just warmed my heart so much! When I was little my friends and I would try to stay up all night and plan a breakfast menu to give our parents breakfast in bed haha, we ALWAYS ended up falling asleep and then would wake up to the smell of banana chocolate chip muffins or waffles from our parents. Such good memories!!! I still love to bake and cook, and it's one of my boyfriend and I's favorite things to do together. For our anniversary he got me a cookbook we can fill out together with all of our favorite things. I can't wait until I can cook with my kids from that cookbook, and hopefully inspire their creativity in the kitchen!
Do you ever feel like you are chopping the same onion and carrots? LOL Your girls are really getting into cooking. That is good. Love the menu and the colorful way he explained it. Sounds good. Lisa I have really enjoyed you all year. You are totally a good person and mother. You and your husband work well together. We will hopefully get to the other side of this virus. So Merry Christmas and Peace for the New Year. Joyce
Great video Lisa, these look delicious and you really capture how straight-forward it is to cook from scratch using what you have available: a meat/protein, some veggies, fresh bread...all so healthy! Ruthie's flair for the dramatic was priceless and WOW did she do a STANDUP JOB of menu planning and design! 2 Thumbs Up!! :)
I love these videos! Im from New Orleans and a fun breakfast could be beignets! Loved having them for breakfast growing up. Would love to see how you'd put your spin on em! Merry Xmas 💗 Edit: Your daughter's very convincing British accent and menu reading was too cute!
I love barley soup! Growing up we were a lot like you! We grew all our food and preserved what we could. Barley was a good way to make the soup filling plus it tasted so good! Brings back so many memories!
Loved the kids menu and your daughter reading it. Your other daughters measuring was so cute as well, I got a kick out of that. Reminded me of my child. I really love your what we eat videos. They give me lots of ideas and help me want to try new things. Thank you!
In Ukraine, barley soup was a staple. Especially if you sautee carrots/celery /onion . Usually using a pork broth though. And we make sauerkraut soup. To that one we add millet towards the end of cooking . The tang in the soup is amazing
Sadly my log burner did not heat my house very well at all, It was the only heating we had in 240 Sq Metre house. We now have a pellet burner, it was so darned expensive but seems ok so far, still won't be enough.. Even though I am a vegetarian of 30 years, with one adult child, very much my choice, I love watching your films, and seeing the little ones doing there bits to.
Thank you for all your hard work and creativity this year. May you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and hoping for the new year to bring wonder and beauty in your life. God bless
Your cooking reminds me of how my Mom cooked, no recipe, but always delicious food! She also cooked from scratch! I am glad she passed it on to me, and I in turn to my children. Wholesome food and cooking at it's best, love watching!
I hope your daughters will learn all your recipes by heart. My mom cooked like you and I thought I could duplicate it, yet some things I just can't get the same.
🎄What a wonderful video with my coffee this morning! Your recipes are so great, and tho I live alone I can scale them down or freeze portions for myself! I wish my daughter-in-law would watch you - your meal planning is amazing. Your daughter is so talented reading her menu! Enjoy your Christmas holidays and may we all be blessed with good health, good food for all, and much happiness in the New year ❤️🙏🤶🏻🎅🏻🎁🎄
I love how your family engages with one another!❤️ Have you considered learning Spanish as another way to strengthen your bond? We would love to partner with you!
Watched this video for some ideas. I totally forgot you can put pastry with a quiche. I haven't done that since the year I became a Mum and started my own business. May try to fit that in this week now the kids are older. Could you also give more commentary on the herbs and spices you use? I don't need recipes. I know how to cook. I just need fresh ideas sometimes. Thanks.
Sweet potatoes in quiche??? I’ve never thought of that! I loooove sweet potatoes! I too am a winter soup-aholic! I also enjoy making chicken Marsala (can’t wait to try it as a soup) but my problem is that it calls for Marsala wine but we don’t drink. I tried using cooking Marsala and it has a vinegary taste. Do you use Marsala and if you do how do you store the unused portion? Love getting to see and hear the kids! Love Daniel’s overalls! 🥰 BTW, while reading through the comments one day a fellow subscriber mentioned your book. Why did I not know this??? I bought it yesterday! Can’t wait until Monday! I wish you had been around when I was raising my babies. I love your channel! It truly makes my day! 🙌🏻💗
I absolutely love your what we eat videos, they are very inspiring to me since I also cook everything from scratch so it is very easy for me to follow your recipes because I usually have everything on hand. I would love to see grocery haul videos from you if you can. ❤❤
Oh my gosh, I’m getting the last of the feed on the trucks, to go out tomorrow, and this comes on! I’m like “don’t look at the food, don’t look, dont!” I did, now I’m starving.
Hi, That was so interesting, Wow you cook a lot. I used to be a chef but now Im a Mom of 7, only 4 live here as the others all got married. I just dont feel like cooking these days, my boys bought me an instant pot for Christmas Ive only cooked a couple of things in it so far as I am waiting for a recipe book to come through that I ordered. xx
Lisa, I keep coming back to this! And I love the Christmas music (even in May). Can you please tell me where you found that version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen?
I make a beef barley soup. I also add barley with rice when making stuffed cabbage..yum!! I do love ur cooking recipes. Leftover meatloaf makes the best grilled cheese sandwiches.
Have you ever shared a video on how you choose to eat? For example, do you avoid certain things like boxed foods, fast food, HFCS, genetically modified foods, etc.
I have a idea Lisa!!! Why don’t you give one lucky subscriber a week of your homemade meals!!! 🤣🤣 Just kidding... Everything looks soooo darn good... I think you’re becoming my favorite channel !! What a beautiful Mom🥰!!!!
Thank you so much Lisa but where’s the bottom to press I loved 🤷🏻♀️🥚🥚🧄🧄🥬🧄🧈🧈🥩🥩🥩🥪🥪🥪🥘🥘🍛🍛🥘🥙🥙anyway everything looks delicious 😋 and the sourdough coffee cake looks 💥 Have a wonderful time 🙏🏼🙋🏻♀️
Love these videos. So fun to watch. And I love how you have a way of winging it and not measuring things. I do the same. Also the Christmas guitar music near the end sounds like it’s from the Elliot homestead UA-cam that I just watched.

I know I am watching this a year later from when it is posted, but this post was so much fun to watch. Thank you for sharing your passion and gift of cooking with us.

I just love how your daughter has a British accent when she's reading the menu. Throwback to my siblings and me 😂!
I've used leftover dried bread cubes which would be used for stuffing in my meatloaf. And I, too, loved hearing your daughter read the menu! So cute! You have a lovely family and I enjoy watching you cook.
All these recipes look so comforting and delicious. Thank you!
A trick I learned when I worked at a bakery was to grate the cold butter into the pastry - it's a game changer.
Loved all of the dishes you made for the week. Delicious!!!!! Highlight was your daughter reading off a special night menu with such feeling. Loved it.
The recipes are wonderful as always but I especially have to say I love the procession of winter sweaters you're wearing in this video!
Thank you so much Lisa!! Been discovering you the last few months and watching all that I can!! God bless you and your family:) 💜💜
I need your kitchen and your energy! Your videos are so calming. Thank you for sharing.
These look so delicious and cozy! And 10:47 is the epitome of "eyeballing it" 😂

Great ideas and menus. Love your sink, because I have one exactly like it .
This is my first time watching! Great meals and your stove is AMAZING ❤️! Thx for all the ideas.
You are so welcome!
I had no idea that you could just go backwards from 0 on the Instant Pot to quickly set it to the highest time!
