Thanks for this tutorial! Extremely helpful for amateurs like me haha. I do have a question if anyone has any advice. What I had to remove wasn't as clean as in this video and ended up with about 100 clone layers for 1 frame. Now, AE is running really slow/lagging and already froze once and I am nervous about adding more adjustments to it. Is there a way to merge the layers like in Photoshop? Or any other advice on what to do to reduce the file size. (And as a note, it's not my laptop that is causing the lag since I got it new in 2020). Thanks!

Hi Kayla! The more clones the more RAM is needed. I would suggest exporting the file and then bringing it into another after effects project file. This will nest/compress all your clones into 1 file and it's like starting a new project.

@@Ichbinbryan Thanks so much for your advice! I will definitely try that out. I also found that I could export a clip and edit it in PS and import it back in. I think I will likely have to do both though since I am editing out some bad reflections that I couldn't control during filming. Thanks again and thanks for such a great tutorial.

When I do this, the clone that I do on frame one stays throughout where yours goes away next frame so you can create a new one accordingly. Am I missing something?

Yes! So you have your brush strokes lasting more than a frame. In the timeline if you go into the effects of the clips you will see all of your brush strokes and you can change their duration. Otherwise, before you start painting, change how many frames your stroke will last. i believe it is under he "Brushes" menu.

@@Ichbinbryan Yep! I finally figured it out about an hour after posting on here. Thanks so much for getting back to me though. Man, frame by frame is tough. Content aware for me though was nowhere close.
