The 720s Spider has no downside vs the coupe and is an incredible drive too. I suspect this Spider could take my best car trophy if I ever get to drive one. The 765 is also better looking than the 720S IMO.
The LT is slightly more "square" in the back beacuse of the new exhaust placement and bigger wing and it makes that big of a difference. I wish Mclaren took kidneys for payment.
My hope is the C8 ZR1 will be similar to this experience if Chevy can TT the 5.5L V8. Been fortunate to ride passenger in a 720 and was a life changing experience of what cars can do and the fact the 765 exists is awesome!

What a beast. I love it. Great review, the highlight of which has to be Klapman's reaction on his first venture into the throttle! But showing the speed is one thing, talking about the composure just reveals what a top tier car this is...
McLaren's arc has been really interesting. Most supercar companies start with a bonkers halo car and then tone it down to sell to a broader market. McLaren went the opposite route. Their first offerings were a bit bland in styling, and the reviews indicated great performance if a bit safe and sanitized. Now they're finally showing who they really are, and the cars are becoming true poster material. This car looks just as exciting as it seems to perform.
17:17 🤣My sentiments exactly. Why do McLaren build coupes? Just build spiders (for the road versions) and leave it up to the owners to decide if they use it or not. I'm guessing business wise it means repeat customers but how much does that cover the R&D?? I can completely understand not wanting the extra weight for an LT if getting the best track times is important to you.
Marvellous thing! I was following a standard 720s spider recently and the swoops and holes for aero and cooling are just fantastic. Definitely on my lottery list…
765LT has been my adult bed room poster car for awhile now. If I had one of these in lime green... sheeeeshhh. The sounds it makes and the way it looks are unreal. I'm sure a lot of these will be crashed in the future due to them being so powerful.
Reminds me of a friends heavily modified skyline, 800hp RWD, turbo woke up at 5500-6000rpm. On anything other than drag tires it would immediately do a rolling burnout as soon as you got it on boost.
Seeing a modern death machine with such a driver-engaging feel is so refreshing as we approach the final eve of gas cars. Pray I can get in one of these soon they seem absolutely bonkers
Great review. How would you compare it to the 720S comfort wise? You mention it’s less sound proof and a bit rougher but is there anything else, the 720S was dailyable and could grand tour (go the distance). Would you say the 765lt could do everything the 720s could but with the added bonus of being faster. Also what are the difference between the spider vs coupe, design wise they look the same but do you lose the space at the back of the seat in the spider, also are the performance gains in the coupe minimal.
Such a fun video to watch. If you guys are amazed by the characteristics of this car, i can't imagine what it would feel like someone like me, who's never been in a fast car. 😂😂
