I was gassing up at an Exxon a few weeks ago and having a terrible morning. Shortly after I start my usual sequence, a rather interesting gentleman pulls up in one of these on the other side of the pump. Our neighborhood sees regular Landrovers, a Ferrari once in awhile, but this was the first Mc I'd seen roaming around. I was really trying hard to restrain myself, but I think he could see I was into it. He invited me over to look at it and seemed surprised that I knew exactly what it was, as in his encounters, no one else did. Apparently he was using his to commute (?!) as the inside was loaded up with luggage and suits. I didn't want to seem even more nosey at this point but I did wonder what he did for a living. He told me this was an upgrade from a 570s that was constantly in the shop, but this one was absolutely solid. Good to know when I get tired of my 07 lifted Tundra... The color of his was fantastic, I think he said it was Laguna Blue, a few shades lighter than the one in the vid, and looked immaculate with a deep brown leather interior. Almost Italian shoe/saddle brown. I wish I wasn't in such a hurry as I'd be willing to bet we could have become amicable friends.
Meh, it's going to be no fun 99% of the time as the fun is in revving a car out. You can't even rev this car out for 2 seconds without being hugely Iver the speed limit. None of these cars are actually fun to drive on the road. Even on circuit they are way too fast and grippy to enjoy. If you are going fast enough to lose control of this you are going to have a mega accident.
I'm a weight weenie for sure, and usually start every car discussion with some form of, "It's too heavy, but..." or "Despite it's excessive weight..." But 25 lbs for radio and AC is not even a difficult choice. A month of smart dietary decisions and some exercise and I can lose that much weight myself.
Haven't watched a one take for a while, instantly remember why Mat is the best motoring journalist on UA-cam. And thats wasn't rambling at the beginning, it was just the right amount of info you want before the flight. Still well mannered, always waves and honks when abel to pass. I would argue that Chris Harris isn't a UA-cam reviewer any more, he's a Top Gear presenter now, but Chris Harris on Car's was one of the best series . Catchpole is superb too but mostly covers std cars while Matt has the hole spectrum covered. ✌️
Think this is the first on-road review of this thing and also the first truly positive review of it I've seen. Sounds like it's a bit spiky at the limit but an incredible road car
Pretty much the issue with any car that can exceed 200mph, its much more important HOW snappy and sorted the performance is getting to 200 than the ultimate top speed, because you almost need an airport runway or a closed road to ever use it otherwise. Even the long straight at most tracks will barely support low 200’s from most cars before they are forced to brake due to the turn.
In Dallas tx there is a tolls express 635 & you can easily hit 200mph & just cruise it’s a good 12 miles of straight smooth pavement. Great for 🇲🇽 runs

almost all supercars break easily, because they push the engine with twin turbo, high compression, (high temperature) etc, AND a lot of the owners abuse the car as well. except supercars like porsche 911, i heard they were pretty reliable compared to other supercars. CMIIW
@@aldyfamily319 Not necessarily, if you watch pages like daily driven exotics, they beat on their cars and they are quite reliable especially their Murci. obviously it's going to be a different spectrum comparing it to something like a Toyota Corolla or even performance cars like the Evo or a Supra even, Porsche has always been a reliable brand as well as Audi like the R8
Yes, nice looking supercar and lots of whistles n bells with the carbon and handling. Howevah.... If you've ever heard a Lambo Huracan roar next to this thing, McClarens sound like Priuses with aftermarket exhaust in comparison.
@@Wickit96 The DDE Murci reliable?? It's spent more time in shops with the engine out than on the road driving! Already had to replace the block from the one that came in it being cracked. Although the other Lambo's they have seem very reliable for the abuse they receive. ✌️
I mean... it's probably faster. The latest hypercars are the 918, P1, LaFerrari from like 6 years ago.. I would venture to say this would outrun them all in a drag race, or on a track.

Great review Matt, and I truly appreciate your comments comparing it to the 720S. It's all too easy to get caught up in the latest greatest models, but makes good sense to take a step back and compare them against what most people would probably appreciate on the street. The LT cars are for the most hardcore of their fans, as it should be!

I've driven a modified 12c and a 675LT, and lordy I can't imagine cars on the street needing to be any faster than that. I'm still glad this monster exists.
There are Nissan GT-Rs under one second 0-60 on Dragy. This ugly-ass thing is slow AF for the money. Plus, its a McLaren. They exist for one reason, to visciously abuse their customers with the worst values in automotive history, particularly on the maintenance side.
Sure wish you'd position the microphone closer to your mouth, so that it would be much easier to hear what you're saying, over what the engine sound is drowing out.. especially iin this video. Otherwise always very good reviews and I always leave the video with good information. Great to see these roads, which I drove from 1958 to 1973 when I lived in Santa Monica. Sure have improved.

I love that McLaren has stuck with standard I/C engines. Just Raw power in a perfect package. If anything ever happens to me where I can buy exotic I WILL buy a McLaren.
It's great, but the similarity between all the McLaren supercars means I'd either have a regular 720S because that's already nuts, but more livable; but I'd more likely get a 570 or 600 and pocket the savings. Heck, if McLaren did a V6 or non-turbo model and called it the 450 or something...as long as it handled and rode like a McLaren, that's all I want! How insane-o speed do you want to go?
