The data transfer process for PS5 Pro was super easy for me. Took about 2 hours to move all the games on my SSD, profile settings, and other media I had on my PS5. And then I just moved the additional SSD I had purchased from the old PS5 to the Pro. Had no problems and it was very nice!
Did you lose any save data in the transfer ? Like i did everything you did and for some reason the two current games i was playing back dated to 10/31 instead of 11/8
@@jacoballen4591my girlfriend and I booted up Another Crab’s Treasure this week and that was the only one so far that I’ve noticed I lost my save data. Wasn’t in the cloud either so that was weird. So far it’s the only one, though I own about 600 games digitally on PlayStation so there could be more 🤷🏼♂️
I agree completely that the PS2 and PS4 (also PS4 Pro) are beautifully designed, and that the Series X is as well. For Nintendo, I really love the designs of the Gamecube, Wii, Game Boy Pocket, GBA, and GBA SP.

Does that matter for a game like that? I personally could care less to have 60fps for a turn-based game that tells its narrative mostly thru still image type dialogues I love the game. I dont think I’ll love it anymore for having higher framers and sharper image if it’ll cost $800 to get those minor improvements

A turn-based rpg in which majority of narrative is told via still images with texts and anime fmvs js not a game in which fps matters all that much to me. I care much more that the dungeon design and environmental puzzle design of Metaphor can be so dull and tedious. That should have bn better And the game’s graphics can be an eyesore at times But overall an amazing fantastic game. Its really weird imp to care about frames for a game like Metaphor
Our education has been slowly killed for decades, funding is horrible, and red state education is some of the worst unfortunately. My mother worked in education the last several years and I can tell you 110% its even worse inside schools than what you're thinking. Even worse. She worked in Texas for years around the state, she's got PTSD and has had to see psychologists and psychiatrists for ever. She was once asked if she needed to be sent to the hospital after having an “experience” at her school job. Her pay was not worth it and no school job is paid enough. I still feel bad for her after she's told me stories and we've had discussion together during family vacations on how things could be better. Its always a depressing conversation and every vacation its been the same when she and I talk about it.
Horizon’s melee is pretty bland. Also, I think Colin’s putting too much faith in Sony by assuming Horizon Online is being designed with single players in mind too. He’s right that it’s an obvious thing to do given that Horizon’s fanbase is single-players. But I don’t hold my breath for Sony to do anything obvious lately.
If they're smart they'll have made it something like Genshin Impact, at least in terms of how the multiplayer works. Where, the game can be 99.5% played Solo, but can nearly all be played COOP, eith benefits are reasons to playing both ways.

If you have an additional ssd in your ps5 you can copy all your games to it, install it in the pro and as long as you log in with the same psn account they just work. Quickest and easiest way to transfer games over

Master Chief Collection is pretty much the only Halo game I don't expect to go to Playstation at this point (it'd likely be a nightmare to port and they are done supporting it/are remaking CE).
That's a good point 🤔 but on the other hand it's also the one that makes the most sense to go to PS. Plus, they've made it work on PC at this point anyway, and the PS5 and Series Consoles are both pretty close to PCs now.
Moved the NVME ssd i bought for base 5 to pro and everything was ready instantly. Strangely i didnt have to download any saves, either, just start a game and it loaded up the latest save. Easiest upgrade ever, just had to install NVME SSD and plug in external PS4 SSD.

I absolutely love the PS5 Pro, but I am mostly using it to play through all the Castlevania games… so uh, not really taking advantage of it. On the things I actually tested and played: FF7 rebirth is fantastic and Rise of Ronin is finally running at an acceptable level of visual fidelity with a smoother framerate! Framepacing issues are still there in RoR but I think that has to do with the way that assets are streamed into the world, Dying Light 2 is gorgeous now with the upscaled balanced mode, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is also running at 60FPS with Raytracing on, Dragon’s Dogma 2 looks great and runs significantly better so far, the Resident Evil games (specifically RE2 and I’ve heard the same for RE3) are also running at locked 60 with raytracing or 120fps locked without, Monster Hunter Rise is locked 60 with all the graphics options set to high, Stellar Blade is phenomenal on the Pro mode, and finally, FF16 is so close to being where I want it to be performance mode but is still not perfect. Honestly, it’s been a damn good time checking out all the random games I have running better or looking better when they have Dynamic Resolution whether they have a Pro patch or not, but I understand why so many people are hesitant to buy the machine because only extremely enthusiastic gamers will go and pop into every single game they have to see the differences, and honestly if you don’t have a backlog of games that would or could take advantage of the extra power, I don’t think it’s worth it. In my case, I bought this thing with the hopes I of getting the best looking version of Monster Hunter Wilds and Ghost of Yotei, and I’m happy with what I got honestly!

Most of the games already out that have PS5 pro patches I’d say are just improving what’s already there, I.e frame rate and resolution, I’d say we’ll really notice the difference when fresh games currently in development come out will really see the benefit of it

I’ve been loving my PS5 Pro so far. I’ve had a lot of game improved that I really didn’t expect. Even Romancing SaGa 2 looks far superior on the Pro compared to the base PS5.
If (when?) an Xbox tentpole IP like Halo, Gears, Fable, etc.. makes it's way to Playstation that will be the real game changer. Those IP are what people associate the platform with. At that point then Phil doesn't need to be trotted out to give the PR spin of what Xbox means going forward. If they are going full third party then they should just get on with it. I see a lot of frustration with how unclear their messaging has been this year.
I don't know, I feel like they've been pretty clear in that they're doing things on a case by case basis. It's literally what Phil said after the Bethesda acquisition. This year has been testing. As long as their competitors have exclusives, and they're making consoles themselves I don't imagine they'll go entirely 3rd person
Halo will be on ps5. I don’t know about the legacy games but next Halo is an Unreal Engine game for multiple reasons, including getting it to ps5 easily

I also liked the writing in several of the character storylines in Octopath Traveler II. This year the closest I've played to good writing is maybe Star Wars Outlaws. That's about it for me.

And with Xbox gone who do you think will be there direct competition? Nintendo. If you already bought a larger harddrive for your ps5 just put that into your pro and boom! No downloading anything.
I recommend hooking the consoles up with LAN cables. That reduced the estimated transfer time from 5 hours to 50 minutes in my case.
Buying a new PC build was easier for me.

That's a good point 🤔 but on the other hand it's also the one that makes the most sense to go to PS. Plus, they've made it work on PC at this point anyway, and the PS5 and Series Consoles are both pretty close to PCs now.

Moved the NVME ssd i bought for base 5 to pro and everything was ready instantly. Strangely i didnt have to download any saves, either, just start a game and it loaded up the latest save. Easiest upgrade ever, just had to install NVME SSD and plug in external PS4 SSD.
Yeah, I was also confused how my saves were already there for those games when I did setup data transfer later on

I get up to make a cup of coffee during a conversations about MM toys and reading, and then come back to discussions about pooping?!? Can't walk away for even a minute.
I absolutely love the PS5 Pro, but I am mostly using it to play through all the Castlevania games… so uh, not really taking advantage of it.
On the things I actually tested and played: FF7 rebirth is fantastic and Rise of Ronin is finally running at an acceptable level of visual fidelity with a smoother framerate! Framepacing issues are still there in RoR but I think that has to do with the way that assets are streamed into the world, Dying Light 2 is gorgeous now with the upscaled balanced mode, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is also running at 60FPS with Raytracing on, Dragon’s Dogma 2 looks great and runs significantly better so far, the Resident Evil games (specifically RE2 and I’ve heard the same for RE3) are also running at locked 60 with raytracing or 120fps locked without, Monster Hunter Rise is locked 60 with all the graphics options set to high, Stellar Blade is phenomenal on the Pro mode, and finally, FF16 is so close to being where I want it to be performance mode but is still not perfect. Honestly, it’s been a damn good time checking out all the random games I have running better or looking better when they have Dynamic Resolution whether they have a Pro patch or not, but I understand why so many people are hesitant to buy the machine because only extremely enthusiastic gamers will go and pop into every single game they have to see the differences, and honestly if you don’t have a backlog of games that would or could take advantage of the extra power, I don’t think it’s worth it. In my case, I bought this thing with the hopes I of getting the best looking version of Monster Hunter Wilds and Ghost of Yotei, and I’m happy with what I got honestly!

Most of the games already out that have PS5 pro patches I’d say are just improving what’s already there, I.e frame rate and resolution, I’d say we’ll really notice the difference when fresh games currently in development come out will really see the benefit of it

I’ve been loving my PS5 Pro so far. I’ve had a lot of game improved that I really didn’t expect. Even Romancing SaGa 2 looks far superior on the Pro compared to the base PS5.
The Witcher 3 looks good on the pro. PSSR with the PS5 upgrade looks great.
but there are no changes to the witcher 3....

If (when?) an Xbox tentpole IP like Halo, Gears, Fable, etc.. makes it's way to Playstation that will be the real game changer. Those IP are what people associate the platform with. At that point then Phil doesn't need to be trotted out to give the PR spin of what Xbox means going forward. If they are going full third party then they should just get on with it. I see a lot of frustration with how unclear their messaging has been this year.
I don't know, I feel like they've been pretty clear in that they're doing things on a case by case basis. It's literally what Phil said after the Bethesda acquisition. This year has been testing. As long as their competitors have exclusives, and they're making consoles themselves I don't imagine they'll go entirely 3rd person
Halo will be on ps5. I don’t know about the legacy games but next Halo is an Unreal Engine game for multiple reasons, including getting it to ps5 easily

@@Nergal134 Last year I thought Final Fantasy XVI, Spider-Man 2, Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores, Star Wars Jedi Survivor, and (When it wasn't being too self indulgent) Alan Wake II were all well written! I also liked the writing in several of the character storylines in Octopath Traveler II.
This year the closest I've played to good writing is maybe Star Wars Outlaws. That's about it for me.

It’s weird to me that Colin can understand how putting Xbox exclusives on PlayStation hurts and devalues Xbox but when it comes to PlayStation bringing games to switch or other platforms he says he has no problem with it. I know it’s a slightly different type of gamer and if it’s older games it’s a little different but it will still have a deleterious effect over time. And with Xbox gone who do you think will be there direct competition? Nintendo.
I think if you care about the overall long term health of PlayStation as a console manufacturer you should not want them putting games on other systems.
