at this point we should stop expecting apple to keep up with samsung in terms of customization. Samsung will always be better if we're all being honest, and apple will never stop limiting its own capabilities.

Exactly, there is a lot of blatant copying going across each company. Only difference I noticed is that one rushes it out in a month, and the other waits half a decade and then pretends like it's their own groundbreaking invention

An example of Android's customization superiority: you can install an Android app to mimic iOS' StandBy mode. It's not a stock feature, but there's always an app that can add it if you want it.
Heck we even have our own dynamic island we can download. It's called dynamicspot. I love it
It's so good that it really feels like a stock feature. I've been using it for months now. Same with the dynamic island. I've been using one with no issues

The iPhone can't get even compete in customization; you have to jump through so many hoops and download sketchy apps with subscriptions. Samsungs ability to customize is pretty much installed on your phone already when you first turn it on
I'm hoping they will change that in IOS 18....its supposed to be even more customizable

@@DENVEROUTDOORMAN They made an agreement in June 2018, although there wasn't much info about the agreement, they allowed copying each other (Because they kept suing each other for copying), possibly to beat Huawei, if they ever get back to the U.S. That's why Apple had Apple TV on Samsung TV's too.

Competition has made both phones so much more similar then ever, who would of thought your iPhone would ever have widgets and AOD, and Galaxy phones would ever have better battery and cameras than iPhones??? I honestly didn't think these things would change.
Except Galaxy DOESN’T have better cameras than iPhone, none of them do, at least not consistently. iPhone wins every time for simple point and shoot perfection. Introduce motion to any Android camera and you get a blurry pic but not with iPhone.

Androids and even windows phones always had better battery and camera than iPhone, this is was true 10 years ago and it is still true. Also android doesn't mean just samsung, most android users don't use samsung.
@@robhughes8516Samsung introduced optical image stabilization before any iPhone, so for Samsung flagships motion is not a problem. and now iPhone and Samsung are very similar in terms of photos but the galaxy wins, but iPhone is better in the video department

all i ask for on iphone is to be able to turn off the flashlight and camera shortcut on the lock screen so i'm not accidentally turning those things on 10 times a day
Androids are known for their customizations. IOS has picked up pace in this in the last couple of editions but still quite behind.
As an iPhone user, I just want my phone to work well and be really efficient at it with long lasting battery life. I don’t care too much about customization. I’m using an iPhone XS and it works just fine in 2024. I admit I’m due for a new phone and can’t decide whether to get iPhone 16 or an android

Closer? BS. Besides what OneUI can do, I can also install another launcher and do all kinds of stuff. Not to mention side loading and actually theme, not shortcut.

The real reason why everyone likes customization on their phones is because it makes their phones look more "nice"
Android gives you both choices, you can customize it to simplicity as much as possible
fr but as iphone 14 pro user I think of swapping to samsung really.
If you customize a phone and it looks better than it was before, it makes you love the phone like new, and every time you open it there's the magic that u feel in the air, don't underestimate the power of customization

So... does the iPhone have different Launchers? I am using Nova Launcher and KLWP on my android plus and use NONE of the standard Home Screen or App Drawer interfaces. All custom built. All that is left is the settings. So how does iPhone compare exactly?

One thing i realised about customisation after getting my S23 ultra is i went crazy changing things up for the first couple of months and then forgot about it 😂 it is a nice fun thing to have but i don't know if this is a deal breaker for most people. S23 ultra is serving me very well though.

Well it's not good to have too much customisation, I can't even imagine how many times I have reset to defaults after taking the customisations a bit too far!🤣🤣
Tbh I have a Galaxy Tab and customized the hell out of it with the built in settings and Good Lock, with a modified grid and a couple widget stacks, and the Home Screen is now laggy as fuck. Especially when exiting an app, the animation is so choppy. Samsung is the king of Android customization but it does come at a cost if you want to truly take advantage of it.
May ask, What do you use urself after all the analysis! S24 ultra or iphone 15 pro max? Given having the apple macbook pro + ipad too. Saw your s21 video but wondering if it has changed now? Thanks

The most attractive point of Galaxy Ultra is Spen that really takes place of My tablet for short time using. Annotations and signature can be done by this little stick.

True apple has come along way with there customizations! I remember when apple first gave the option to change the keyboard! Everyone went crazy over that! Now they are saying with the next version of IOS they will let you place your apps anywhere on the screen! Iphone users won't be able to handle that one!
The action button is irrelevant compared to Samsungs one handed plus mode which uses gestures from the edges of the screen . I have 6 action set up by mere directional swipes . It's so nifty! I even set long pressing the power button as instant mute button and double pressing to bring up the camera. Samsungs customization is far ahead of iphones.
If you look at both Samsung and Apple's UI. A lot of it came from WEBOS. Hewlett Packard started that with their mobile and tablets. But HP sold it to LG.
If Apple would allow free positioning of icons on the home screen, iPhones would look like Android phones. And I'm sure they don't want that lol
Ehhhh personally, I always had a problem having to run another app, even If back by Samsung, for my customization needs. I feel if features aren't there on purpose then to them, it wasn't a good enough feature to put it by default. But then that leaves the phone feeling like it's missing a lot. Nothing against Good Lock, I used it often enough when I was on Samsung. But I couldn't keep the "minimalistic" and "business-esque" thoughts outta my head when using Samsung As Is. It's probably the main reason I'm looking at a Pixel phone instead once I pay down my iPhone 14PM down a bit. A Lot more colorful and it feels more "free" if that makes sense.

I love it how ppl say android has so much more customization but almost everyone I know with android still uses screen buttons instead of the gestures, let along any actual customization mentioned here.
Most android users like that, so as ios tbh, so I don't understand the point of mentioning customization as an argument or anything.
I'm on s23 ultra and I love what I done to it with custom keyboard or even getting rid of the status bar, but there's not many ppl who do that kind of stuff is what I mean.

Problem is I have no idea what Samsung copies from Apple because I don't have an apple device. I think Samsung was smart enough to copy the multitasking view from the ipad, but it is cool that the phone can have it too.
you can change the ui itself on pretty much any android device. one of the reasons why i migrated to samsung
Unless Apple opens up iOS more to third-party developers, they'll never compete when it comes to customization.
Like basically all Android phones have more customization built-in, PLUS you can use third-party launchers and totally change the look and feel of your phone without needing to root/jailbreak.

Apple started on this, but this fight was not remotely fair. Samsung kills in customization (and regain specific terrain very quickly). You kinda of covered all IOS options and barely scratched Samsung`s, there's so much more (each Good Lock module has lots of options, for example).

An android and iOS user here. We all know no one can beat Android devices when it comes to customization. With iOS 18, iOS inches a little bit closer but Android is still way ahead in customization.

Great content. Samsung is still the best for customization. I have 30 apps in a widget on my home screen. That leaves me 98% of my home screen all wallpaper. And I have rain coming down my home screen at all times, not just for 10 seconds, then it stops. Also, can put live wallpapers on the home screen Can you do that on the iPhone🤔 please let me know.
