I still remember when my piano teacher assigned me this song 10 years ago. I started playing the right hand and liked it. Then she said, "You will play this with a tempo of 164 once you learn it". My jaw dropped. In the end, I was able to play it at that speed and was proud of myself. The whole time, I felt like my metronome was having a hearth attack. It's a fun and challenging piece to work on.
I just ordered this piece and as a self taught learner I’m feeling good that i have reached a point that i can start learning known composer pieces! Wish me luck
After hearing this for the first time in like 5-6 years, I suddenly regret quitting piano… 2022 EDIT: I came back once again to this piece last year, and I can safely say this is the piece I am most comfortable playing on the piano. I play it at every opportunity to show people my piano skills! Now I just need to figure out the Rondo...
Lol im playing this rn and im 15 and this is my 9th year playing the piano and yall telling me you played this when you were 10 or in your firdt years of playing? Like respect to you
Nea Lundell same...though I played this piece last year and I personally do not care for it but my piano teacher liked it so I am still stuck with it...
The notes of this piece are really easy if you think about it. Even someone who's is learning this at his 2nd year playing piano, like me, won't struggle. The most difficult about it is the really fast tempo and the difficult technique . I think in that video the guy who was playing played it really really fast. In my opinion, its normal tempo is like 80 or 90 on a metronome (if you play two times faster than the beat), so don't complain about the fast tempo. You could start playing it on a slow tempo like 50 or 60 on a metronome and after you learn it well you can get it as fast as you want. Hope I helped😊.
Something I forgot to mention before, is that you could try playing it with different ways, like you could play your two hands separately firstly. Then you could start playing it from the ending of the piece 'cause everytime you play the piece from the start over and over again you just learn the begging and you don't concentrate on every single note.
I am actually playing this song rn and the proper tempo is about 120. I can't really tell by ear what he is playing but he is going faster so you are right, but you are also wrong about the tempo.
:D I was play it when I was 13 years old. And I like it till today :) My student at music school start to play this sonate now, so I wonder, how she´ll do :) She is 13 now too :)
10???? I'm almost 14 and I'm playing it. I feel like I need to practice a whole lot more now 😂 Though I play other instruments and sports so I guess that makes up for it
My teacher assigned this piece to me. Got the first movement down, though a tad bit OVER tempo. I thought allegro assai was faster... Wish me luck on the second movement!
I'm 84, taking piano lessons since 2015, and have been practicing this for some time now. Among some other difficulties, my fingers just can't move fast enough to achieve the tempo expressed here so my performance is about half what it should be. I'll probably never come close to mastering it, but will continue to press on. When I listen to something like this I want to do two things: (1) practice more, and (2) quit.
Good on you! "Lessons since 2015" certainly proves you aren't the type to just give up on things for no reason. About the speed: if you have arthritis, or a known muscle problem that affects everything you do, or some condition that causes general loss of coordination, then half speed might be as far as you go - and there's nothing wrong with that. But if you don't have any such conditions, you can definitely play this one up to speed! It's not your fingers; it's getting your brain to accept that your fingers can play the notes much faster than you can think of them. When you're learning the piece, of course you have to think each note one at a time, to get all of them right. But after you're sure the notes are right, you have to "let go of thinking" a bit, trust your fingers to automatically do what you've trained them for, and let them play twice as fast - while your brain sort of watches from the sidelines like a coach. If you can drum your fingers on the table like an impatient person (without pain or difficulty), you can do this too.
I had my first lesson with a new piano teacher after 2 years without lessons and 6 years before the pandemic with my old teacher. I realized my new piano teacher is not a good sightreader and she has small hands well........ I am a great sightreader and I have big hands and i'm 12
Not sure why the second part is repeated, the finale sounds so... final lol Also it doesn't seem to add anything to the piece. I wonder if Beethoven actually wrote this.
maybe it's just my version of this piece? the B section has no repeat. and stacatto notes in measures 17 & 59! I wonder if this is a recording of someone playing or just midi?
MTRP MattTheRobloxPlayer You know what I mean. And look at all the other comments using the word “song” instead of “piece.” Why are you singling me out lol?

Allegro Assai. I can see what you mean; it’s like allegro con brio speed
I haven't finish this for a month
So, my piano teacher assigned this song to me and I was feeling pretty good about it... turns out I was playing it way under tempo.
I feel that tho it sounds so much better slow
Same but I think that slower version sounds much much better

try dropping your fingers at the same time, but with the grace note being played slightly before. Kind of like an arpeggiated chord
Nea Lundell don't worry 😂it's not the notes (a 2nd grader could read them) it's the quality of the music you put into it😉
