Living Traditions Homestead is all about living a simple and sustainable way of life. We believe the world has gotten too “busy” and that people are missing out on many of the true blessings this world has to offer. We started as a small urban homestead in Gilbert, AZ and after the city grew up around us, decided it was time leave corporate America and take a big leap of faith by moving our family to the Missouri Ozarks.

Same here! But I HAVE had a garden before, in Ozark, MO! Missouri’s best crop are rocks & weeds! 😢. I live in Washington state currently. Watching this vlog channel keeps me in touch with my Missouri roots.
I just commented basically the same thing to them yesterday on another of their videos! I live in the middle of a suburb of Oklahoma City (Moore) and the only gardening I do is flowers and herbs and peppers in pots in my backyard! But I have learned so much from them, I almost feel like I could homestead too. 😁

Just loved and and wanted to say thank you for this encouraging video. I have wanted to homestead for many years, but can't get my husband on board. I have severe RA and he is afraid it will be too much for me. I believe it will help me feel better. You have strengthened my hope for having a baby homestead. Sarah and Kevin, your story is an inspiration!!! I am a 71 year old lung cancer survivor who has managed on one lung for 4 years and I had pretty much given up on doing anything more than crocheting. However, your videos have re-energized me and given me hope that the Lord kept me around for a purpose and he sent me you! Your real life story will encourage my youngest son to live his best life and my husband and I have something to talk about - the garden. This year has been disappointing in it’s production but that poor yield has given me the time I need to watch your videos and learn SO MUCH! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Well I’m glad y’all didn’t. Give up. I love your channel and I love everything that y’all represent. We lived in Missouri five years on 500 acres and those were the best five years in my whole life. I was 12 years old I’m 62 now and I sure do miss that kind of life. Watching what y’all do you brings back good memories of the five years of homesteading as a child. ❤️❤️

I love how the grit that got you married so young, (in a Baby Blue Sequinned Tuxedo no less) that allowed you to dig in, get out of debt and buy your dream, has given you a little pat on the back, Kevin will appreciate the shine in particular. This resonates with me. My husband and I are older. Me:61 and he is 68. We are buying a 14.5 acre homestead (vintage 1880’s) and are going to be retiring there. The place is in pretty good shape, but there’s a lot to be done. Clearing fences, repairs to barn and sheds, taming extensively overgrown gardens, etc… This is our dream, but there are fears that we’re a bit old to be starting this. But we’re both pretty strong and healthy and we’re hard workers. We’re moving from NW Arkansas to southern central Missouri too and leaving behind family and friends. It exciting and scary. Wish us luck!

Homesteading in the Territory of Alaska, we were considering , 1950s, But life took us back to the my late Husband’s city job. As aMaster gardener, I have planted 100+ trees , 300 yd > Wildlife Habitat, plus small veg. , fruit gardens. Now you have done it ,My dream... My first year really trying to garden I had a war, it was between myself and grasshoppers. Needless to say they won that year. It was so much work and no reward. I almost gave up but instead spent my winter researching and have had much success since then!
