Been watching for months but just watched this. One thing that stood out was that 4 years later you guys look so much healthier and younger now. Homesteading agrees with you and proves mental health is so important to our overall health.

That's one of the most genuine Christ like things I've heard in a good long while. What an incredible ministry and sharing of love! May you be blessed and know him in all you do. Never forget that His hand is in and upon your lives, including through this channel.

We have cut back to one car, we can and freeze and have tried to pay off all of our mortgages and payments. We are working on becoming debt free. Today we have more than enough to pay our bills. We have been blessed.

What a wonderful family. I LOVE your videos and feel almost as if I know you personally. Hubby and I live on a quarter acre in a small south GA town, and we grow lots of veggies in containers. We've put much of our produce in the freezer: green beans, summer squash, butternut squash, tomatoes, okra, bell peppers, onions, carrots, mustard greens, collards, and spinach. I've also canned jellies, jams, pickles, hot sauce, and chow chow, and I've dried lots of herbs. I got permission from our mayor to have chickens, so I think that's our next step!

Thank you for sharing. Most of all thank you for sharing your faith in the Lord. I just started watching you a couple of weeks ago and have been watching a lot of your old videos. I was just drawn to them. Love your gardens and animals and all your preserving of the food. I am in my 70’s, live in a Maritime city in Canada. We can’t even grow most flowers and bushes let alone veggies here because of the dear who visit our property almost daily. We do fish and hubby hunts, (but not on our lawn). So I get my joy from watching how well you do the homesteading. God bless you.

Hello, glad I found your channel! After 13 years of marriage and 2 kids, (and 25 yrs in law enforcement in CA) my wife and I began praying about 2 yrs ago for direction out of CA. God led us to eastern TN, where we were blessed with finding a beautiful place. We're so excited to begin this new journey of God-provided self-sufficiency, and we'll be watching more of your channel to learn as we go! Thank you!

Thanks so much for the blessing of getting to know you better. I am 80 years old and at the age of 38 my wife and I came to the same fork in the road that you have described in this you tube episode. We've also sought and waited for divine direction and continue to do so. Thanks also for several tips we've implemented in our gardening. Please continue in these efforts.

My husband was watching this video and we were really inspired by it. It started with the canning and you made it so comical with your smile and canning skills. As we continued and browsed we found this video and found how you became homesteaders. I'm a country girl and we feel the land is calling for us to return to raise our own food. We hope to find some good land. We're also we're from Wisconsin but currently living in Alabama. We're looking forward to beginning our homesteading soon. We're definitely praying for God's directions and guidance. We've been desiring to do this for a very long time. I'm sure he'll give us an answer. Very inspiring and God bless!

New viewer here! Me, my fiancé, and our two daughters live in a suburban neighborhood. I’ve been a stay at home momma since my kids were born and hubs is an amazingly talented mechanic! We are fixing to peruse our dream of moving to a rural area and having cows, chickens, pigs... vegetable gardens.. the whole 9 yards. My fiancé was raised up around dairy farms and can’t wait to get back. I am a southern city girl through and through. I am soooooo scared to leave everything I know and love to move 13 hours away to start fresh with literally the clothes on our backs. Whoa! I’m so excited though! Just gotta keep prayin about it!! Your videos have been very helpful and encouraging! I can’t wait to keep watching and learning more and more!! ❤️

Btw we aren’t going into this blindly! Lol we are much like you guys, have our nice home, our backyard garden, chickens, fruit trees grape vines... on no land at all lol In our area the land is so expensive. What we can buy 13 hours away for $150,000 with a 3 bedroom house on.....down here they want $2 million for. No joke.

Great video guys👍 nice to meet you😁 congratulations on your 19th, we just celebrated our 32nd😲. True wealth does not come from the amount of money you earn, and if you already learnt that your already incredibly wealthy. Living the American dream😁. Your point on prepping is a good one it's one I always tell people as well that prepping is just preparing yourself for failure, because one day you're preps will be gone and you won't know what to do! Keep the good videos coming guys👍

I came across you while looking at some greenhouse sites ... saw the one about putting the finishing plastic on yours ... I had seen the name several times from comments and live chat and recognized you so I watched that and the "big mistake" ... I am really impressed with your style and story ... and the fact that you give the real credit to God ... nobody will ever succeed without the total acceptance of Jesus Christ and trust and faith in him in everything we do. I especially like the patience you told us about while praying and waiting for your answer from our Heavenly Father before you made a move. I am new to the channel but you are on the "A" list of you tube for me ... thank you, God Bless

Thank you Carl! God's timing is perfect, mine isn't. The hardest lesson for me to learn in life was that sometimes God's answer is "no". It's always what's best for us, but sometimes hard to see at the time. Our pastor used to say God has 3 answers, Yes, No or maybe later. If you just remember that, it makes life much easier! God Bless! Kevin

HI GUYS!! I finally got my husband on board and hopefully in the next year we will be ready to purchase some country acreage and begin our homesteading adventures! I am so glad I stumbled upon your channel! I have been watching some of the current videos for about a week. This morning I was exploring your channel and watched this video. It sure is a small world! I just moved from Oshkosh- spent the last 19 years there and raised all 5 of my children there! We have now become an empty nest and moved to the Oakfield/rural Waupun area for a pit stop to decrease our monthly expenses and work on becoming debt free before we begin our next adventure! I am super excited to continue watching your videos and learning tons!

God bless you and make your road to your dreams as easy as it can be. Thanks!

Hi, Kevin and Sarah! So great to meet you both! You're story is so so similar to our story. Big house, big job, unsatisfied with the life of working to obtain stuff, missing our children grow up. We prayed for a few years, and my husband felt such a strong calling to the Ozarks as well, and we relocated here a little over two years ago from Orlando Florida. We are starting our homestead journey this year and are feeling excited and blessed. We are in Branson now, currently looking for our dream property either here in southern MO or northern Arkansas. I'm so happy to have your videos as a resource. Thanks you and God bless ❤

Oh wow that is an amazing story! My husband and I got married when I was 17 and he was 18! We met in high school and have been together for almost 19 years now, married for 16 years. We started very early in life and did everything wrong lol we made LOTS of financial mistakes that we are STILL paying for and we have 4 kids. We are in our 30's and desperately looking for a homestead of our own. We are having to stay in the city so I can take care of my 84 year old grandmother who has dementia. I definitely feel stuck in a life that I can not stand that makes me very depressed, yet I do love my nana and I know she needs help. I am PRAYING we will be able to get out of the city soon! You guys are SO SWEET and I love watching your videos! Thank you for all of your wisdom and your very valuable advice! GOD bless you guys!

The only way you will ever get out of the city is to just take the big leap. Research, prepare and take nothing with you, that can be replaced at a local thrift store where you are moving to. Learn to can foods, chop wood, drive a tractor, raise livestock, butcher chickens and steers. Learn how to shoot a rifle and a pistol. Buy them at pawn shops or gun shows. Most importantly, get a good church behind you. Learn from the older folks who grew up on the farm. Your best friend is your County Agriculture Agent. Get right with God and you are on your way. Live a healthy lifestyle, trust God and teach your children well. God bless you and be kind in all things!

I think it's great to hear about your humble beginnings. Although these videos make me quite homesick, I enjoy them so much! I'm a country girl trapped in the city, lol! I don't have any access to dirt here to grow plants. I've tried before, but the whole plants, with roots were ripped out of the ground. I was heartbroken. Hopefully, one day, I will be in a better living space with at least a patio or balcony. Presently, this building management even coved the small patch of grass with fabric and stones. So sad. Keep on doing what you do because I believe you are definitely in the right track and putting God first is always the best path to success. God bless you! 🤗

I've been following your channel for about a week now and y'all really have a great thing going. My husband and I have been talking about becoming homesteaders since we got married 7 years ago but the military life hasn't made that possible until now. My husband is retiring after 23 years in the Air Force and we are leaving our last duty station here in Guam and going back to our family in Oklahoma where we plan to put down roots and find the perfect place to set up our homestead. So thrilled to have found you guys. Especially watching this video. Hearing y'all talk about following God is so great. Y'all are the 3rd folks on UA-cam we've found who talks about God that we're learning from as we've begun our homestead journey. It's funny to me that we've found ourselves on this path. My mom grew up on a farm, join the Navy and met and married a city boy. I grew up in the city to meet and marry a small town feller. Now at the end of my 50th year and the beginning of my hubbies 61st we're planning and planting. It's been a crazy start. I can't wait to see where this goes.

We started out in Michigan and moved to souther Utah desert to be near my in laws who had moved there. We spent 9 years learning to garden in the alkaline desert soil and produced a ton of food in our local community garden plot. We also lived in an HOA so could not do chickens etc. so many people at work were inspired about the amount of produce we would bring in to work and give away and soon they were asking for gardening advice and starting their own gardens. While my husband was recuperating from surgery, he started watching homesteading and farming videos and had the urge to move back to the Midwest where water was abundant and we could have a bigger piece of land to homestead. So now we have been back in Michigan and have been loving our new homesteading lifestyle. Hubby is retired and building the infrastructure and I am still working. Your story is inspiring. Only concern now is can I afford to retire and not have health insurance.

Just found your channel the other day and have watched several videos, like them a lot so I subscribed. My husband was a city boy from Pittsburgh when we got married. I talked him into selling our house and buying a 118 farm in the foothills of the Allegheny mountains. It was beautiful hated leaving it but 8 years in we sold it to move to 15 acres in SC to be near my mom and stepdad to help her take care of him. So I think what y’all did was wonderful and glad to see it is working out. Blessings to you all.

The desire to have the American Dream exists everywhere else...just a different name. My father and mother were simple people and I love agriculture. I pursued medicine as a doctor. And now I can enjoy gardening to my heart's content. I dont have space of my own to plant but I hope that. My wife and I can get closer to homesteading...not necessarily homesteading but having a sustainable way of life. I'm encouraged. I'm 37 yrs this month. Praise God for strength. Anyways. THANKS!

Great video. Love how you prayed and waited on the Lord for direction. My husband and I are doing this right now. We have an acre and a third and believe we are being led once again to a new direction for our lives. We are waiting on the Lord for that direction. I’m learning so much from your journey. You are an inspiration and encouragement to us. Thank you for sharing.

So happy I found you. My grandson is hoping to become a homesteader/farmer after his degree in agronomy is gained so I hunt for folks to whom I can "introduce" him as inspiration for his dreams. I appreciate your story and will pass it along to him. He is already incredibly frugal, so he will appreciate your cost comparisons.

I have been watching you guys for about two years. when you said that you grew up in Wisconsin, I was amazed at your vision and moving around the country. I use to live in Michigan and moved to Florida in 2000 and started a raised bed garden. We live in a community similar to Kevin's parents, riding around in golf carts. Also we have a son living in Beaver Dam. I really feel close to you guys with connections in Wisconsin. I also had purchased your rabbit book and have used a couple of recipes from it. Take care a God Bless.

I live in Phoenix Arizona. My son and I have tried several times to try and grow vegetables and fruit here. We started with seeds and they would grow into big plants. But never really produced. Well except for some cherry tomatoes. But the heat just killed every thing. So we finally gave up. But we want out of Phoenix so bad. I just want to live in the country somewhere and be able to grow a garden. Hopefully one day. I admire you guys for all you have accomplished.

Currently, I live in a property of 2.2 acres, but more than two thirds of it are forests. I only have a small raised bed garden, containing 11 4*6 raised beds. I plan to grow some fruit trees this year.

I am a big fan of your site. My son discovered you all on You Tube and we have been watching you ever since Have seen about all of your videos I think but enjoy them over again and the new ones you put up too. My son is an avid gardener and tho I am too old to really work a garden any more love to see yours and he keeps us in veggies during the Summer. I am 82 yrs. old and still try and keep up my little side yard with flowers and wild life support. When we moved here 49 yrs ago, we were pretty much out in the country but it has grown up around us some now tho we are still pretty private here. We used to have animals, chickens, goats , etc but don't have them any more. To me you seem like family , good decent hard working people who have made a success out of your homestead and I love to watch your videos. Thanks for making them available to us! I love y'alls channel. Seriously, I have learned so much from watching your channel that I apply to my own farm. My husband & I work in corporate America also like you once did. We've been hobby farming since 2004 & are really putting everything we have in it this year while keeping our corporate America jobs. Its very challenging as you know. We've also started our own UA-cam channel. I just see you guys as an inspiration because your so much like my little family. Thanks for keeping it real!
