And Musk will showcase all this as "improvements" when the competition has caught up silently, and overtaken Tesla in almost all domains, including autonomous drive. 😆

Aerodynamics don’t effect city driving. Inductive charging is inefficient. Power operated doors are inefficient. Automatic cleaning is too complex to achieve. Robots were so clearly controlled by humans.
EDIT Recently on X tesla account it was confirmed induction charging will have 90% efficiency - which is more efficient than wired charging. ===== Aerodynamics always important for the life of a car - anytime going over 30mph. Inductive charging requires no human intervention, can still be free (solar) - and "inefficiency" solvable. Doors are perfect design for all people, including disabled. Automatic cleaning backed with AI in 2025 will be piece if cake. First iphone was not even a phone - some plastic case with fake buttons on glass. These robots were much above compared to iphone1 level vs production.

New regulations made entire planet to follow them, don't forget that Just few years ago Tesla stock was more valuable than all car companies combined while producing less than 1% of all cars. Back in 2016 it received 500k pr-orders for model Y for down payment of 1000$ per car to be in a waiting list, that's 500milion$ to create production line and start manufacturing for that model. Same for other models. With such influx of capital it would be cringe to fail such an relatively easy task. "I never believed a pencil shaped rocket can "land" to be reused. Musk and his teams did it. Nobody else did it. Not even governments, forget companies." Well, I'm sorry to break it to you bet NASA achieved that back in 1993 with DC-X. Resons why reusable rockets were scrapped - lack of government funding, high maintenance costs and length of the maintenance. Also, at least at the time payload were more expensive than the rocket itself, So it was more viable for NASA to concentrate on the safety of the payload rather than reusability. The Space Shuttle was the world's first reusable space vehicle. The orbiter, its 3 main engines, and twin solid rocket boosters could be refurbished and flown again. More than 800 astronauts rode on 135 shuttle missions from 1981 to 2011.
So he's made a taxi to get people to work, putting the drivers out to pasture (homeless more likely) but with the new AI, you won't need to go to work as the AI can do your job better and faster, putting you out to pasture (homeless). As he says we don't need people?
Seems people that count how cheap the CyberCab will be misd the point that people are even willing to pay a premium for such a taxi to get privacy, peace and no stress of having to deive yourself. Just as Elon said. You can go to work while eating that sandwich or catching up on the paperwork. That's worth an extra cost if there was one. Would anyone rather take a cowded and dirty downtown L.A. city bus with the homeless or some gang members/criminals?
He also said a few years back that an electric car company could become successful, that people would like them, that cars could successfully drive themselves, that there could be reusable rockets that return and land... But yeah, that was quite a burn you got in there. Puts him to shame. ...lol...

This self driving Tesla (=EU Level 5 autonomy) won’t be available before 2030. Maybe 2035. It’s all Elon timeline. Where is the Roadster Elon? Is is delayed like 5 years ???
Self-driving cars are the future and will save countless lives. Every day, over 3,700 people die worldwide in car crashes-more than 1.35 million lives lost annually-and in the U.S. alone, over **42,000 people die each year. A staggering 94% of these crashes are caused by human error, such as speeding, distraction, and drunk driving. Self-driving cars, by contrast, have an exceptional safety record. For example, Tesla’s Autopilot reports one crash every 4.6 million miles, compared to one every 652,000 miles for human drivers. Companies like Waymo have logged millions of miles with only rare, minor incidents, often caused by human drivers. Yet, the media loves to sensationalize these rare cases, ignoring the fact that human-driven vehicles cause thousands of deaths every single day. This technology is already proving to be far safer than human drivers and will only improve. Even a modest reduction in crashes could save hundreds of thousands of lives annually. Self-driving cars don’t have to be perfect-they just need to be better than us, and they already are. This is the future of road safety.
Personally I don't like the design. is NOT catered for people with disabilities or elderly people. seats are so low to the ground so it's harder to get in an out of, especially without any handles. They should have made it taller and 4 seats facing each other so there is room to put your cane/crutchers etc. and those DOORS? They stick out so far when fully opened. wouldn't they have learned from the model X those doors are silly and problematic? For a taxi, it should be a sliding door like on a minivan. FAR easier access in and out. Just two seats is ridiculous. A LOT of people using robotaxis would be tourists with kids etc, but with two seats? If anything, have THREE seats in the front. the current seats are so wide you could fit there in there. They just designed this vehicle from the model 3. They should have made it like the robovan but 4 smaller with 4-6 seats
I guess you missed the fact that "90% of all city journeys are for 1 or 2 people"? And that the Master Plan includes people providing their larger cars for use as private hires in addition to the Cyber Cabs? Brings back thoughts of "West World" where nothing can go wrong, go wrong go wrong------
All automated robotic devices will give you THAT shot. And Asimov's Three Laws will NOT cover the real world.
Trapped in a taxi that is not near a charging station ... or waiting for a taxi while it heads for an inefficient inductive charge ? Yep, worse than West World because death will be slower.
This video told me nothing I didn’t already know from watching the We, Robot event.
Also, if FSD literally gives you the same functionality as a Cyber Cab while also giving you a backup should FSD malfunction, why would anyone buy a Cyber Cab. If technology has taught us anything, it’s that’s it’s never perfect 100% of the time. There are always bugs, glitches, patches, and fixes. The Cyber Cab basically makes it so that when (not if) that happens you’re basically stranded, whereas if FSD starts malfunctioning in your Model 3, you just turn it off, grab the steering wheel, and go on your merry way.
really wish it had a wheel and pedal bc I would forsure buy this as my daily commuter
One little pothole and the Cyber van will literally bottom out and it doesn't have to be very much😂
Wow I'm glad you figured that out. I don't know how the best engineers in the world overlooked that, or maybe just maybe it will have air ride suspension like most Tesla cars. 😮

I think Elon forgot that the audian included peole that did not have this perspective of how they planned the presentation. Is it the case that these autonomous driving cars are programmed to not hit pedestrians, which implies that muggers can easily stop your robotaxi by stepping in front of it?
The more complicated a contraption is, the more vulnerable they usually are to simple attacks. Take the Hi-tech Israeli defenses: their border defenses defeated by simple paragliders, and their Iron Shield defated by a surge of dumb rockets. The human driver controlling the vehicle is the most superior and verstatile to all unexpected scenarios.

Before 2027, or maybe early 2028. 2029 at the latest. Honest.

Musk is progressively discovering what a real car is. At the end of his life Teslas will be conventional cars, with conventional windows, with conventional doors, with conventional everything.
And Musk will showcase all this as "improvements" when the competition has caught up silently, and overtaken Tesla in almost all domains, including autonomous drive. 😆
The RoboVan reminds of the game Detroit : Become human.

Its the Tesla control system since the beginning. They will never get rid of the center screen. How would you engage with the car then? Plastic buttons?
Aerodynamics don’t effect city driving. Inductive charging is inefficient. Power operated doors are inefficient. Automatic cleaning is too complex to achieve. Robots were so clearly controlled by humans.
EDIT
Recently on X tesla account it was confirmed induction charging will have 90% efficiency - which is more efficient than wired charging.
=====
Aerodynamics always important for the life of a car - anytime going over 30mph.
Oh, forgot to mention - how brilliant the design and function of doors are, self-closing, guaranteeing the robotaxi will go to the next clients even if the ones going out forgot them open.
You got everything wrong.
Tesla engineers are years ahead of any other brand.
@@geo5982 The level of ignorance from you is astonishing. Elon makes promises like these all the time and delivers 10% of time at best, and even that 5-10years over schedule. Engineers have to fix problems Elon makes and those projects and big reveals only exist to boost stock value, Elon very well knows he's lying, but has to appease share holders. Aerodynamics do absolutely nothing for city car. inductive charging inefficiency is not solvable there will always be lasses that will ad up. Elon has proven he doesn't understand that relying on cameras instead of lidar is a dumb mistake. Don't you know that tesla sells "full self driving" for $8,000 which cannot be used for full self driving? Sure, bud, suddenly Lawmakers mind will be changed by Elons genius aura and laws will magically change nation/world-wide to even allow these cars on roads in less than a year. Stop sucking Elons D in yt comments he will never read.
I agree with my level of ignorance. And yours.
I never believed electric cars were possible. Musk and his teams literally "forced" the entire planet to follow them.
I never believed a pencil shaped rocket can "land" to be reused. Musk and his teams did it. Nobody else did it. Not even governments, forget companies.
By the looks of it, whatever was "impossible" by world standards - even if later than planned - Musk and his teams proved the entire world wrong.
And he'll do the same with FSD, robotaxis and robots.
They all will happen.
It's just a matter of time.
@@geo5982 You didn't think electric cars were possible? So you don't know that first cars ever created were electric? Reason why everyone switched to ICE were range increase, ease of infrastructure and heavy, inefficient batteries...Only battery tech has improved since then.
" Musk and his teams literally "forced" the entire planet to follow them." that's a big NO. New regulations made entire planet to follow them, don't forget that Just few years ago Tesla stock was more valuable than all car companies combined while producing less than 1% of all cars. Stock was, and still is inflated based on Elons persona. Elon is terrible at manufacturing and engineering, but he's a genius at marketing, everyone followed tesla because of his outrageous futuristic promises, of which all fell flat. As soon as he released Flamethrower, Tesla tequila, etc. they all sold out instantly. Sold out not because those were good products, but because who made them - a likeable genius cool guy Elon.😂 it would be cringe for tesla company to fail with the amount of money they received.
Would anyone rather take a cowded and dirty downtown L.A. city bus with the homeless or some gang members/criminals?
i want that robo taxi
Parking in any normal parking lot besides other cars or garage.. ok so I'll just open my door.. oh
QElon said a few years back we'd have 1 million robotaxis by 2020.
He also said a few years back that an electric car company could become successful, that people would like them, that cars could successfully drive themselves, that there could be reusable rockets that return and land...
But yeah, that was quite a burn you got in there. Puts him to shame.
...lol...
@akiramenai4973 I'm not sure tesla being on corporate welfare is being successful , man. Without government welfare, tesla hasn't made profit once in its history. Perhaps your not aware of what some of the words your using mean . Tesla is a proven scam kinda why their not growing . Ev account for 2 percent of the cars on the road the exact same as it did 5 years ago . In fact half of telsa sales are to exsisting customers not new ones food for thought. Pretty much 90 percent of what he says isn't true and it's just said to sell stock , this is a proven fact .

Same as every other Musk event. Lots of promises he will under deliver on. FSD next year as always.

I seen concept cars like this in a lot of autoshows. Are they Road legal? No are they in production? No. Both concept cars with elon promises.
I want a personal robo taxi
2 Seater Robotaxi simply makes no sense...will not happen. Also the huge trunk...nonsense
Nothing happened. I was a Musk Vaporware Event.
If the Cyber Cab cost is a fraction of what the current cheapest option costs, four people would just get 2 cabs and still save money.
