Shooting the Bowtech Carbon one up against the Mathews Phase 4 29 kind of opens my eyes to what the difference really is, both bows are a solid shooting bow. However, I feel like some are a little more comfortable than others. So hopefully this will give you any info you were looking for regarding these two.

The bowtech grip plates can be popped off with an arrow nock and you can put different ones on (different angles or colors). They do feel a little loose but they don't move once you're putting pressure on the grip.

I see the video was posted 6 months ago, however, still great content and very relevant. My only issue with the Carbon 1 is the fact of the weight. Engineering didn't do a very effective job when a CNC milling machine can achieve less weight with an aluminum riser. PSE's carbon bow is close to a pound less. Bowtech's cam adjusting system is their call to fame.

Try the bee real 2.0 grip for the Mathew’s definitely changes the bow entirely

Carbon one, tunability, balance, draw cycle. I also like the look of it.

From what I’ve found, a Bowtech in comfort mode 70lbs is equivalent to a Mathews with a 60lb mod, give or take a couple fps.

I haven’t shot the carbon one but it did feel heavy to me.

I have a phase 4 33 so not trying to defend the Bowtech, but gotta remember for speed tests that mathews runs 1/2” long on draw length. No fault of yours obviously, I appreciate this videos

I have never shot a Mathews before. I have shot Bowtechs/ Diamonds and had some really good success with both of them.

@@MrJPW76 that’s what I’m planning to do. Although if I’m being honest, I’m already bias to the SS34 😂

Since I moved from mathews to bowtech 5 years ago. I've been very very happy with my last few bowtechs

Both bows are far too heavy for their axle to axle length. Mathews still uses modules, and has been selling the same bow with incremental changes for quite a few years now. 8 limbs instead of 4 is a solution in search of a problem.
The Bowtech is way too heavy for a 30" carbon bow. Aside from feeling warmer in cold weather, carbon bows should be lighter than their aluminum counterparts. The Bowtech is far easier to adjust in terms of draw length and basic tuning (still needs a press to fix cam timing, though). Looks are subjective.
I'd go with the Carbon One of I had to choose between those two. Thankfully I don't need to.

What bow company doesn’t make incremental changes lol. Phase 4 is a lot better than the v3 I had. I don’t know man, sounds like you should go shoot one.

Oh yeah and the carbon one is a shitty bow. Shot like shit. I mean I guess if your into bombs going off in your hand lol go for it. I wanted to like it as bowtech is the only company that gives a military discount but they missed the mark in 2023. Talk about not making changes lol, they made an 80 pound revolt and a 34 ata solution and a shitty carbon bow.

@@matthewkyle6939 until Mathews makes a cam with a rotating module, I'll pass.
what metrics are you using to decide how it is "better", and how are you measuring it? What does the Phase 4 do that the V3 can't do?

i own a bow tech reign 6…unfortunately. The bow has had a cracked limb for each of the past three years in a row. I get them replaced and am lucky to get 15-20 shots in before the crack again. I would absolutely stay away from all things bowtech…just my honest opinion

Man, I shot the phase 4 and the bowtech carbon one today. Carbon one was trash. Loud and felt like a Granada in my hands draw cycle on comfort was no better than the Mathew’s. I went to the bow shop really not wanting to like the Mathew’s but out of the prime revex 4, carbon on, Hoyt vtm, and pse fortis…. Mathew’s was the best all around. Followed by pse then Hoyt. Prime and carbon one tied for last.
