I am 71 years old, and beginning about age 30 I made it a point of only having rescue dogs. One year ago my daughter found a stray that was freezing, starving and could hardly walk due to hair so badly knotted. I kept him, and he has become a fantastic companion, more intelligent than many humans. He never lets me get out of his sight, when I do he comes looking for me. He is family, and treated as such
Bless you. Rescue dogs are the best.
I'm 72 and we have had five rescues over the years.
My mother is 89 years old and she loves our cat Randy. The companionship, interaction, and affection in keeping her healthy is immeasurable. We love our mother, and getting a cat is one of the best decisions we've ever made.
My three dogs have all been abandoned or shelter dogs ❤
nice work mate. sounds like you and the dog found the perfect match.
I adopted an adult shelter dog 11 years ago. I filled out an application and had to wait a week to take her home. I went to see her every day during my lunch hour. I bought her a collar and one day when I visited her I put it on for sizing. Once I got the collar out of my purse she was so excited. At one time she had been in a home and she realized what that collar meant. I will never forget the excitement in her eyes when she saw that collar. She is sleeping at my feet right now.
Such a great story . 🙏
@@Alan-gx8gf This dog in this video would make for some good eating. Some dog meat is greasy but this kind of dog has more lean meat and is good to grill.

I hope you live to 110, but also have a backup plan if she outlives you. My Dad is 81 and we just put his dog down, but he said he can't get another one. Maybe I can talk him into an older dog? My Dad is still going strong

** Benny Update **
Benny is doing just fine. He is living the life that every dog should live - loved and well cared for. His road traveled, at least to us his current owners post this video, was long and no doubt questionable at times. But fortunately for him/us his loving family, our roads intersected with one another.
Benny will turn 4-years old this year. He has filled out nicely weight wise whilst adjusting to his "true" forever home. His black coat has turned into the most beautiful brindle color you ever seen - matching in part his gorgeous brown eyes. Benny spends his days lounging around the house - sleeping on any bed or couch he wishes, hanging out in his large fenced-in yard chasing squirrels, taking car rides, and whenever he can get it, getting his belly scratched or rubbed.
We hug and kiss Benjamin every day endlessly, and tell him how lucky that he is, but truthfully it is us his adoptive family who are the lucky ones.
What shelter did you get Benny from and what breed is he? Thanks for posting that great video !!
You are living the life
I adopted a 4 year old dog from animal control two months ago. I named her Bella, because she is just so beautiful…
This made me so happy that I teared up!! Thank you!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
What a marvelous update. So glad to hear that all his bouncing around at being adopted wasn't for nothing, and now he gets to enjoy the life he deserves. ❤

30 days after he was turned in at the shelter, I went to check on the feral dog that had bitten my hand. (No Rabies) I swear that was the happiest I've ever seen a dog when he laid eyes on me. So $70 later for shots, neutering and vaccinations....I've got a dog! He had been so frightened, and happily became a loyal lap dog. We've been together 10 years. No regrets.
That's so big-hearted of you to see past his initial behavior toward you and to take him into your life. Bless you!

Do you take care of your people?
Hello you are an angel…..
@antiunclematter9502: Your snarky response shows you missed @paulwalker1793's point. When someone is speaking from the heart, why do you find it necessary to disrespect their feelings? It's a wonder any animal survives this human-centric world of ours. Fortunately, there are people who recognize that animals have the right to live their own best life without the ignorance, apathy, arrogance, and frequent horrific treatment by humans. But along with the empathy and sympathy, worry and concern, those people who voice their feelings about not being able to 'solve the problem,' deal with the frustration of knowing all their efforts and concerns do not make a dent in the need they recognize on a daily basis. It makes their hearts hurt. Voicing the pain they feel may bring them just a tiny bit of relief. Why will you deny them that?
@@ednachun7907 It's just a question, relax.

People die. Move house were there are no pets allowed. Lose their jobs. Move into residential care properties. Have to work extra hours in work and their dog is left alone 14 hours a day etc or they are just not able to give their dog the best lives they deserve. There are so many reasons. I just hope who ever adopted the dog, keeps the dog. A lot of people will return them within a week, which is so sad as the dog hasn't had chance to settle in.

We adopted a Lab that his owner could no longer keep. He was 18 months old and a little wild. He acclimated quickly to our kids and home and remained a loving loyal companion for the next twelve years. He died in our arms yesterday, and we are heartbroken. His love and affection were unmatched and he was my best friend. We'll adopt again some time in the future when the time is right.
I'm sorry for you. But thinking about a future new adoption is a positive reaction.
@@carloartificialintelligence I am so sorry for you loss, I know how hard it is. I lost my 2 dogs within a year of each other. I am still heartbroken. I didn't think I could ever get another dog. But about 6 months ago my mother got me a dog. I should have done it so much sooner. I will always miss Teddy and Roxy. But having the new dog and laughing again with all his quirks, allowed me to remember all the good times with my 2 dogs instead of just being left with the ending for 5 years. Good luck, with your new adoption. Do it sooner rather than later.
Condolences. Losing a “hairy child” is never easy. With time the pain eases and you can start to appreciate all the wonderful times you shared together. When the time is right, get another dog. I promise you will not regret it. 💕
I had to do the same 2 months ago with my 12 1/2 old lab. Try volunteering at a shelter. It really does help overcome that awful, empty hole in your heart. And the dogs need you.
Bless you and your family. You do what you need to do to grieve this family loss. Labs are so intense in loving relationships, so I appreciate that this is such a hard loss. I ache with you for your loss. ❤
I was a Military Police Dog Handler trained at Lackland AFB,Texas! The dogs we trained to become working dogs were all rescues!
I can't help but think this is how my daughter's adopted dog acted when they found him. He was an animal control stray pickup, a beautiful 10 month old short coat border collie. He has turned into a four-legged human, the smartest dog I have ever seen, and the best pet you could ever ask for.
People need to adopt not buy. Dogs especially but cats too…imagine if everyone adopt 1 dog.
Abandoned dogs….seen too many videos of them being literally abandoned by their owners. One video the dog was left there and they drove off and it was steadfast waiting for 4 days. I don’t know what would happened to an abandoned cat. Sad & tragic
I’ve met two dogs who were brilliant and both were taken off the streets.
Border Collies are crazily intelligent, they can can actually learn to understand spoken language and not just single words, entire sentences.
@@JohnnySack16
Purebred…hopefully you ask to see their parents and the set up (behind the scenes) before buying.
Purebred can also turn out vicious or worse overbred…than the breeders just take them to the vets to be put down. Only the good looking ones make it through…sometimes vets/shelters rescued them. As I am sure you’re aware of.
@@JohnnySack16 it's a shame that you have rejected rescue dogs and only buy purebred. Most places, these rescues are not free because these innocent animals often have health problems or injuries that need to be addressed. Most rescues neuter or spay their animals as well as microchip them. However, most of these animals make the most loving pets. I shudder to think how many animals have been killed at high kill places (I refuse to call them shelters, because they don't shelter their animals) that have been denied the opportunity to show what wonderful pets they could be.
The fact this dog backed away when they came in says a lot. The dog thought his time was up and was scared. The fear in him says he has seen many at that high kill shelter not come back and he was scared. So glad he was one of the lucky ones to leave breathing and with a family.
💖❣️
Yeah, in a shelter near me the dogs frequently go on walks by volunteers. They even pull to go back to the shelter because they feel connected to the people there. Was sad to see this dog scared of the people who worked there ;;-;
I adopt small dogs noone wants ... for some odd reason the dogs noone wants and won't let anyone near them come right to me - they've chose me so I bring them home and give them the best life possible. I've never picked any dog out ... they've always picked me . I'm blessed that these babies who wouldn't let anyone near them came right up to me and wanted up . I'm sorry your dog passed away ... it's very hard I know. To adopt is the most compassionate thing a person can do . You are a compassionate person.
I don’t think so, I’ve no doubt the shelter is unpleasant and the dogs are frightened and distressed, but the pup is displaying normal behaviour for a puppy interacting with people he doesn’t know.
That’s so bad🥲🥲🥲a high kill
I had to put my rescue boy down a month ago but I tell you we had the best 12 years together. I miss him so much I still cry when I talk about it. I can see his grave from my window under the feeders in my tree. He loved chasing squirrels up that tree and was just the best boy anyone could want. God bless the rescues, they know they were chosen and they never forget. 🥰🥰
Bless you for saving a rescue dog.
Thank you for sharing what so many of us feel. Did we save the dog or did the dog save us? I suspect the answer is that we saved each other. It is a deal with the devil whenever we give our hearts to our dogs: ultimately we will be devastated with grief when they leave us far too soon. But our memories live on forever. About the squirrels: be assured that my former shelter boy will hunt them assiduously. I'd like to think that his hunt will be in your own boy's honor. Us former shelter dogs chasing squirrels are a fierce brotherhood. VIVA THE SQUIRREL HUNTERS! And thank you for sharing your story. It is a help to me.
So sorry, I lost mine in the last few months, I had them for 14 years,

Ahhh the memories of the day we picked up Rosie from the pound. When we first got her out for her “interview” as soon as she was outside she leaped into the air, almost higher than either of us. Then we went away to talk about it, then stopped by a pet store for the necessary supplies, and returned to the pound to collect her. We walked her out of the building, I opened the car door, and she hopped into the back seat without missing a beat. Had her for 16 years. 🥺

Yea, he was happy to be out of that jail.
@@samirdoncic6395 But the dog was confused and not knowing how to respond. The dog will need alot of training and support to feel confident again.
I rescued a dog a few years ago. Not from a shelter though. We "met" at a place where my company had a work to do. The dog was chained all day long prior to our presence. We worked there for three weeks and month after we finished work I got to adopt the dog. It is only months after the rescue, and getting to better know him that I realized how much that dog was understanding during this three weeks work. I can very much believe that this pup "knew" he was getting rescued.
We had a similar situation, the doggie knows that when the same person comes back twice that something wonderful is about to happen.
Animal will surprise you with how much they understand. I can't say for sure if he knew or not but I wouldn't be the least bit shocked if he did.
Our Buddy looks just like this little guy. Last of his litter, waited 6 months in a cabge, then we saw him and took gim home. Best dog ever!
We also adopted our pet Maltese who had been re-home 3 times. We are the 4th owners. BB is adorable but he bites... very vehemently for a toy dog. My family and I had gotten "scar- souvenirs" and were both "shock" and "anger" on him initially. However, we forgave him quickly too as we believed he has suffered a lot in the past. 9 months later, BB is still with us, this time happier, secured and loyal, ... thank you for trusting us and being part of our family ❤❤🐶🐶🐶
A dog that bites, I probably couldn't handle, hats off to you for dealing with the issue and loving the dog.
That's really nice - you rock.
Also, a trainer might be able to help you modify that behavior.
Thank you to the family that adopted him. All rescue families are saints❤️
Then everyone who doesn't eat animals must be angels.... 🥰😇 because we force into existence 100 billion land animals no different from this dog in their capacity to love, to be frightened, to suffer and to feel pain..... and then we throw them into a short life of INTENSE PAIN MUTILATION CONFINEMENT TORTURE until we force them into DEATH TRUCKS for a journey that sometimes lasts for days without water or food and we MASSACRE the terrified animals mercilessly - all for a sandwich
No, you're not better better than meat eaters, you're definitely more arrogant though. That's like saying people driving green cars are angels because they care about the environment for the animals so they can breath clean air. Or what about people that don't want kids? They're angels as well since they're not contributing to the over-crowding population that's taking away land for animals to live. I could keep going with this game.
Unfortunately, that isn't at all true, and the many re-abandoned dogs (and cats) in just the USA alone are testament to that. Many people are absolute jerks who just want to get a dog for a short time, for whatever twisted, selfish, sick reason they may have, and then they either return the animal to the shelter, or they start abusing it physically, and do other terrible things. By no means are "all" rescue people, let alone families, "saints"!!

I took a dog much like this from a boarding kennel. Dogs do NOT 'wait in shelters' ... they have no choice... they are animals that are helpless. The dog I took been abandoned property and just before a Thanksgiving he would be taken to a county shelter to be destroyed. I took him in... as the companion female dog he was with was adopted fast. Both were abandoned as the owner could not pay the boarding fees... This male dog has never been any trouble for me and I learned to train dogs in classes and took 3 of my own through CGC certification. This dog appears to be Labrador crossed with an APBT and is very toy-oriented and like snacks. So he is easy to train quickly.
THank You
@Doug H. in VA - What’s his name? You just keep referring to him as “this dog” ...😽💕
I couldn’t imagine abandoning my dog. I would move heaven and earth first.
@@justwhatilike...234 his name was what the original owner chose. I adopted the animal, not a name another person chose.
They are so kind and sweet. Proud to say we've been adopting cats and dogs since 1971. Many decades of joy and love!! ADOPT SAVE A LIFE AND YOURS!
He looks like our Benny. He was a sweet heart. We really miss him. Hope you enjoy your Benny as much as we enjoyed ours. ❤
That dog was so excited just to be out of the cage. At that point it knew nothing of being adopted - only the feeling of freedom from the wire compound. I hope a good life of earth rolling and love follows...
Good point. Dog lovers tend to anthropomorphize an awful lot. Of course, the moment that we say that, they think we’re trying to say that dogs don’t have feelings 🙄. Of course they have feelings, they’re just not four-legged versions of humans. We have to appreciate and honor nonhumans in their own right.
@@penguincommunity6218 yeah but let them have it, why be "that guy" you know? It's cute, we can all agree to that at least 😁👑
@@DArtmanreignz Just can't be too happy when you consider all the other dogs left behind, that are put to death...
Exploiting this dog's happiness by recording when he finally gets outside of a cage for "social media views".
I hope half the ad profits are donated to shelters at least.
I had just adopted a dog a month ago. Her name is Stormy. When saw her, she looked at me and my heart strings just melted. She was very well-mannered and observant. When I'd finally adopted her, I knew she was grateful to me because any time I leave the house and come back, she always greets me with a hug. She gives me so many kisses it's *astounding*. On top of that, she loves to sit with me on the porch and rest her head or her chin on my thigh. She's a cuddle bug for sure. By far the best thing that ever happened to me
Good stuff... spoil her. You are making a difference!
They understand being lost and rejected. They understand being abandoned. So being adopted means so much to them and they are forever grateful. You have a buddy for life.
Seems like there were two winners here. Live long and happy dear.
Got my first dog as an adult 6 months ago. A 2.5yr border collie. Best thing ever. We hang all day every day. I should have done it much much sooner. Wish someone would have at least tried to talk me into a dog. So because of that I do it to others. Of course if they’re thinking about it already and might be on the fence. As long as they have the time…
Awh be best friends ❤️❤️
That's such a moving video. I've always had rescue dogs. All dogs deserve a good life. Benny, I hope yours is amazing.
I can't stop crying seeing this video. So, SO happy for him! God bless the folks who gave him a forever home!
It hurts to see it in his eyes how he must’ve been thinking “this is the day I take the walk dogs don’t come back from.” Except this was the best walk ever. I hope you have a long, happy, and healthy life with your forever family, Benny!! This makes me want to adopt a dog, and I’m a cat momma!!
He must have been confused. He has probably seen so many of his buddies leave their cages and not come back. He probably thought he was going to be put down. Poor little fella.
No he wasn't thinking that, he's not a human he's a dog, and if you want to adopt a cat or dog just do it, don't brag about it, actions speak louder than words
@@ktk2008 Who's bragging here? If you're referring to the video, that's not what this is about. The point of this video isn't to 'brag' or whatever, it's to build awareness and hopefully get more people to adopt dogs. So many dogs go to shelters and because there are very few no kill shelters in America, most get put down when no one adopts them. These dogs deserve a family, they deserve to be happy and live a long life. But so many never get that chance. That's what this video is about. So why don't you stop being so self righteous and try actually doing something good instead of putting down those who are.
No. Dogs can literally smell chemical changes in the human body. No doubt he smelled happiness from the worker at the shelter.
@@ihatehiphopcultureandsosho6317 If that's the case... why are so many shelter dogs absolutely terrified when getting adopted, even if their new family is a good one that loves the dog? Is that your excuse to put a dog back in the shelter if they don't like you? "They should have been able to smell I was a good person and that I was happy, so it's their fault, they must be a bad dog, so here, you can have it back." dude. Dogs aren't omnipotent. Wait, was that too big a word for you? I apologize... oh, wait, I'm not really sorry. Nevermind.
Adopting an animal is one of the most rewarding things a person can do. I’m so happy for Benny 💗💗💗
Yes. But, we should never be in the position to adopt a pet from a shelter
Hello 👋, I hope you are having a wonderful day today?
Aww, bless his little heart! I hope his life is filled with love, cuddles, and endless treats!!!
🥲👍❤️
Beautiful story. Wish everyone of the poor souls would be adopted and shown what love really is.
The day I adopted my boy was one of the happiest days of my life! To see his face and watch him realize he wasn’t going back into his crate made my heart burst with joy, for both of us! He was a 10 month old, three-legged, German Shepherd-Black Lab mix. The rescue had him for a little over a month, with no one ever stopping to meet him or talk to him. I’ll never know for sure how he lost his leg so young; the vet thinks he was probably hit by a car bc she could tell the amputation was surgical and well done. Sam never knew there was anything different about him. He thought every other dog just had a weird extra leg! 😆 He swam like a fish and ran like the wind! He was 80 lbs of spoiled rotten lap-baby love. He was my canine soulmate, and THE BEST 13 1/2 years of our lives. 🥲❤️
God Bless You for rescuing your fur baby. Growing up my family had fancy breed dogs; as an adult i got my first rescue years ago, I will never go back! Hug him for me!
Rescues for the win!!!!😭🥰💗💗💗
@Dakota Batres I remember a line from the author known as James Herriot. "Spell Dog Backwards.".
AWWWWW❤❤❤!!! I JUST LOVE,THE FUR BABIES !!❤
Thank you for overlooking the missing leg and adopting your "best bud" anyway! Far to many people look for perfection when adopting an animal, never realizing that the 'imperfect' ones are not only the ones who need us the most but are also the ones who will give us the most love because we accepted them when everyone else turned away. I've had several 'rescue buddies' over the years and I always look for the ones I think no one else will want. I figure they're the ones who need me the most. Not a one of them ever disappointed me.
I hope that every single person on Earth gets to experience that kind of happiness Benny experienced at least once in their lifetime. THAT is pure, heartfelt joy in from that happy dog!
Everyone who has ever lived will one day be that happy.
Ik i have
People forgetting to feel joy and happiness. People also forgetting to give joy and happiness.

THANK YOU ALL.
He is sooo happy!!! A big thanks to the ones who adopted him and gave him a chance to be free and loved. Many blessings!!!💝
@@tjmax8203 Yeah. He's out of control.
I was totally hoping I could start my day by crying like a baby. “ Mission accomplished”
Have always adopted shelter dogs. They are the best. They somehow "know" you saved them, and their love and loyalty knows no limits. Every year when the date of our adoption rolls around, we celebrate it as "Gotcha Day."
I love this video! Adoption of a dog is like no other event. They are forever grateful… ❤ Thank you heroes!
I love the video too but I cringed at the noose leash since the beginning
He's wagging his tail like, "I'm a good boy. Please give me a chance. Please don't kill me like so many others." What a happy boy! You're all blessed to have each other!😊💖
You are ridiculous.
Yes. I saw that, too. His ears were down, and, you could see it in his eyes, too.
@@QUICKBOOKS1 Right now with 26 cats it's hard because we've lost 4 we keep in our room with 4 others. 3 really miss them and 2 stay under the bed. Creme Puff, a male, stays close to the edge protecting Cally. They had both been taken to the Vet for respiratory issues and for shots of antibiotics. It's like they feel like they'll go and never come back. It's heartbreaking. Cally let's me pet her under the bed and late at night she goes out to the Catio to a perch. I can pet her there but if I reach for her brush she runs back under the bed. She used to kiss me! On the lips!🤣Such a sweetheart. They're all rescues.
This resonates so well with me. It's the same thing for any animal, even humans. Feeling isolated and unwanted and the hopelessness that comes with it and finally being included.
@@barbaras3206 you have put it so well. Agreeing with your thoughts.
We did with one dog we rescued. Dad used to put the Roller Blades on, and let Niles run. When he was controlled enough, after, I taught him a form of Sign Language. He could hear just fine, but, that got him to focus on ME.
My two little shelter dogs are a huge blessing. Can’t imagine getting a doggo any other way.

I went to a shelter last year, looking for a puppy. There was an adult dog in the very last cage in the shelter. It was dark, so I couldn't see him well. While the rest of the dogs jumped up and down excitedly at my presence, he just stood there. I don't know why it struck me so hard, but I asked about him. He had been in the shelter since late June. It was mid August. My heart told me to get him. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made! We have determined that he is an elderly dog. When we first got him home, he was shy and standoffish to everyone, including us. But he was very sweet. As time passed, my neighbors and friends started commenting on the difference in him, from when I first brought him home. He welcomes people who come to our house, instead of standing back in the shadows. We recently got two kittens. He is a little scared of them, but he watches over them, and I have no fear that he will harm them. He is just perfect for me. Don't discount older dogs when you go to the shelter. My old boy is happiest when I pick up the keys to our side by side, and take him for a run down to the pond for a swim. He may be old, but he still runs and plays hard.
wish you both the bests. you have a great heart ❣
what a lovely story
Good on you ....good things happen when we listen to our hearts
Awww. Similar story here. I went to a shelter several years ago to meet a specific dog that I saw on their website. When I got there they told me I wasn't right for him because he needed a yard and hated cats. I walked down the line of kennels and my eyes settled on a sad sweet girl surrounded by loud hyper dogs barking and clamoring for my attention. One of whom put his front paws on top of her head to get closer to me. She just let him. She looked so defeated. Reminded me of Eeyore. She came home with me and changed my life. She passed last January after 8 amazing years together. Best friend I ever had.
You made difference in his life, bless you.
Truly man's best friend
We adopted the same breed, Brisket is one of the most loving dogs a person could ever have!
When I went to our local shelter to pick up our cat, I told the staff that I wanted to pay the adoption fees for a dog and a cat that had been there the longest or were the hardest to place in a loving home. The dog was hyperactive and the cat was quite old. I didn't want either to live the rest of their lives in a cage - esp. the cat because all of the cats (except kittens) were in a small, dark room in cages from floor to ceiling & it reeked of urine. The kittens were kept in a large well lit room off of the lobby. My cat was so traumatized by the shelter that for the first couple of weeks, she laid in my lap, with her paws wrapped around my arm, hugging me. Once she realized this was her home, she then sat up straight and tall like the diva I knew she was. I checked the adoption pics every day hoping the dog and cat I sponsored would find their forever home. Within 1 week, both had been adopted. I also complained about the odors and cramped, dark room where the adult cats were at. Because of my complaint, they filed for a grant and are now building an addition to house adult cats only.
Well, it is so sad that society has remained blind to such pathetic accommodations, for our abandoned companions that for some reason Love humans so much. And across North America too eh.
every municipality should be regulated to provide a field-like setting. Cage runs with shrubbery. running water simulating flowing water outdoors.
Not that difficult to imagine a better place than cinder blocks painted white and chainlink.
You’re a beautiful soul ❤️ I had a calico that was awesome. She spent 20 years with me. It went by so quick🌈💔

@@myamericans1112 Exactly! Spot on!
My family went to an adoption center for cats, after meeting with some of them we chose a large medium black hair male named mellow (staff named him for his demeanor). Fully ready to pay for his adoption fees we were told that someone sponsored him and he was no charge. Continuing with that, we donated his adoption fee towards one of the older cats that had been at the shelter the longest. He was very skittish for months but now he is the king of the house and a cuddle bug.
How trusting he is allowing the staff to put the leash on him. He’s so excited to see the world! All dogs deserve a forever home WITHOUT the fear of being killed looming over their heads!
I've had a rescue dog and have known many people with rescue dogs. They are some of the most loyal dogs that I have ever seen. They know that they were saved and are eternally grateful of being saved.
I don’t think the dogs know that they might get killed.
Its surprising how humans can decide on what to kill. And its surprising more who gave the authority to kill.
@@ajikoshy89 Its more about space and money. If a dog isnt adopted in say 1 year, it probably never will... rather than pay for its food and use of a kennel for 15 years, they put it down to make room for another dog that perhaps will be adopted quickly. Not saying this is right or its good, would be great if they all got adopted of course but thats not the reality of life

we rescued our dog 2 weeks before he was going to be put down. Everyone was scared of him because he would lash out at workers because he was scared and had been abused. Once he figured out we were not going to hurt him he was fine. We then trained him as a service dog for my GF. He detects and alerts before she has her neurological attacks, notifies her when her insulin pump alarms goes off, helps pull her wheelchair, he even pushes her back onto the bed when she falls asleep sitting on the edge of the bed. Best doggo ever.
Amazing 🐶❤️
We adopted our 4th or 5th rescue Husky last year. Our visit to pick him up from a rehoming situation, my husband fell backward and landed on the grass. I thought hard, this is a Husky, we know Huskies. The dog ran to my husband and looked at me like, he needs help. We brought him home and he has proven more than once that he is a service dog, alerting us to medical issues causing falls, getting me when my husband is calling me with a weak voice and best dog ever for us as Seniors over 75 years old. We are his third home in 3 years, and have had him a year and he is in his forever home....a family member we cannot do without. My husband is doing so much better and on road to recovery.
