- BEAUTIFUL PLACES IN DORSET: Dramatic coastlines, fairytale castles & chocolate box villages// Hello lovely people! Today we share the second video from our amazing visit to Dorset! We had a lot of places on our list as there's so much to see but feel as if we only scratched the surface. So there's always reason to return to this beautiful county.
Durdle Door has been on our list for years and it was even more beautiful than expected. Though we couldn't film as much as we wanted as we had very strong winds, we so enjoyed our visit there. Very nearby is the stunning seaside town Weymouth, so worth checking out. When we prepared for our trip to Dorset, we stumbled up The Crab House Café and its amazing seafood. It's so good with lovely staff and fresh food - thumbs up! If you get the chance to see the Smugglers Inn in person in Osmington, do so because it's the most picturesque place. You can even stay there! Last but not least Corfe Castle, a fortification standing above this dreamy village. Oh what an amazing weekend. Kirsten & Jörg xx

All the tiny little houses are so adorable. I believe what makes the aesthetic is the modern, white window and door frames; complementing the stone buildings and magnificent views, of course. It's a mixture of old and new, which I think everyone can appreciate. Thank you for a lovely video.

I lived in Poole, Dorset back in early 80s. Being student at the time, all we could afford was to get on a local bus to Corfe Castle and do some sightseeing on a weekend. How incredible! Thank you soooo very much to bring all the sweet memories back. Absolutely loved it!!!

As a resident of Dorset, it is pleasant to see places that I have visited many times. Just North of Corfe Castle is Wareham, where you have the Wareham Saxon Walls, which is a man made ridge that you can walk along. Wareham is the site where Alfred the Great King of Wessex besieged Guthrum and his Danes in 876. Maiden Castle is worth a visit, it is an iron age fort, south of Dorchester.

Thank you Kirsten and Joerg for visiting this lovely part of the English coastline and sharing it with us! I went to the art college in Bournemouth in the mid 1980’s and haven’t visited the area since, as I moved abroad (Middle East & US) in the mid 1990’s. When I was a student, I regularly hopped onto my little scooter and explored Dorset! Your video brought back so many wonderful memories of a lovely part of the country and my student days! I always enjoy traveling with you on your many adventures, as it reminds me of my home country (and makes me a little homesick!). My family moved from Cambridgeshire where I grew up, to Suffolk, which has many quaint little medieval villages, full of timber framed and thatched cottages, which you would definitely enjoy! Lavenham in particular, as it is the best preserved medieval village surviving today, and one of the wealthiest Tudor weaving towns in its heyday. Perhaps one for your bucket list?! Once again thank you and safe, happy travels!

We recently visited England and France but rented a car for only a couple of days of our trip. We realized that we really enjoyed the small and quaint villages and are planning another trip to Europe for next year, this time renting a car for the whole trip for the flexibility of stopping in said places. I would love to go to Scotland, Northern Ireland, Switzerland, etc. Any recommendations based on your personal experience?
@@mereiriz We started in London rented a car went down into Wales went all through Wales went to Ireland all the way up to the Northern Ireland caught a fairy in went to Scotland with our car we went over 2,000 miles the last time I was there with my ex-husband we went from London all the way up to the tip of the Isle of sky all the way back down to London we visited Sterling Castle Wallace monument Rob Roy's grave just everything we just stopped at everything. You really can't go wrong renting a car, and just stopping when you want and we stayed at b&B's only. No matter what you do you will love it!

I was just soaking in the sunshine in this video! Because I'm a senior citizen a bit on the thin side, I think I would have been airborne with all the wind, but the vistas were all so lovely. I can imagine smelling the ocean. It might be my overactive imagination, but the Dirdle Door formation looks to me like a partially submerged sitting dinosaur, his neck arched, and his nose in the water. I daydreamed of visiting Dorset, window shopping in that sweet little town and eating a "shore dinner" at the Crab House Café. Thanks for yet another gorgeous video! 🤗

Happy Spring from Canada! I woke up to a snowy day this morning, winter is hanging on too long. But I enjoyed my revisit to Dorset - albeit vicariously - thanks to your video. Nothing is better than springtime in the UK. Daffodils and bluebell woods make my heart sing like your spring birdsong. Thank you for my mini visit. Thank you for this interesting and beautiful travelogue from Dorset. The Bride Valley Vineyard claims that their soil is similar to Champagne, France's enabling them to grow delicious wines. Recently our "60 Minutes" broadcast featured the growth in English vineyards due to a positive benefit from climate change. I grew up near Weymouth with views of the Massachusetts Bay. Dorset is indeed beautiful - I favour it over Cornwall - but it is true to say if you can be lucky with the weather, spring or late autumn are good times to visit as the towns and villages positively heave with visitors in the summer.
I LOVED the scenes driving by the cottages. Because I’m nosey! Weymouth was stunning. We feel like we have had a little mini vacation with you. I did say that Dorset is where my 95 yr. old Auntie lives. It is a beautiful scenic area with so much history. I love the sea side and I could imagine the smell of the sea from here 🇨🇦 The English Sea Side, brings back nostalgic memories to my heart. The Corfe Castle built by Norman the Conqueror is a very historical area and the village is lovely. I wish I could be there too! But thank you for taking us with yo on your Vlog to Dorset. Thank you for this trip down memory lane. Stayed in Corfe Castle village in 1989 with my parents and 2yr old son. We had glorious weather and got to stay an extra week at our accommodation.We didn't want to go home. Next time visit Kingston village and the Scott arms,great views. Also Kimmeridge Bay, Swanage,Studland Bay,Wareham, Brownsea Island and Poole. We always used to break our journey at Lacock. Your filming was stunning.
