I bought 1O Rai of farmland north of Chiang Rai in 2019. At the time, there were only dirt roads and rice fields around us. Five years later, we are surrounded by businesses, karaoke bars and more traffic noise on the main road. No matter how remote a location you choose, people will quickly close in.
So exciting to see you adventuring like this and taking us along for the ride! The weather looked like a squall heading your way. Did you get rained on? Oh, are we going to get a house update when you get back?
Don’t worry about the armchair critics mate. Keep doing what you’re doing, and re-word things as much as you want 👍. Your content is solid, as is your moral standard and demeanour. A pleasure to watch. Thanks mate 👍
Chumphon is very nice. There are some nice beaches all along that coast and not many tourists. Be safe Jon on your bike journey Jon, thanks for the content.
Looks like my sorta place mate, I planned to be there right now too. But opted for Prachuap Khiri Khan town. Enjoy your trip to Krabi mate, you're living the dream Jon 👍
Chumphon is amazing - I ended up there by accident once and spend 3 days - loved it. There is an airport in Chumphon too - not sure why its undeveloped - could be a matter of time - once the high speed train goes in - real estate there will sky rocket I think !
Yeah I’ve added it to one of my most favorite places in Thailand, the jelly fish seemed to only be at one side of the beach at the other there were none
Great video. Photographically speaking, I liked the contrast of the clear tropaz sea, under the glowering rain clouds. I think wifey and I will visit here soon; it is more the native Thai experience rather than the commercialised tourist spots
I have been riding down to Chumphon for a few years from Chiang Mai. Gets busy w locals on the weekend doing what Thais love to do... Bbq and beers and family. Good selection of hotels and decent eateries at the southern end near the temple. Well worth a stop even though it can be too quiet if that's not your sort of thing.
Good day to you Jon. Fabulous scenes. Love to the whole family. IDYLLIC place for the retired with no money worries, but what would you recommend as a small business over there.
Make sure to drop by The Beach in Hua Hin next time you are in town. The Beach in Hua Hin is the only Bar in Thailand that you can actually meet and talk with International Professional Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger Models.
Better, enjoy the place without mass tourism, stay with local people and if you speak Thai they are happy. Think the restaurants must be cheaper too but not always. In Kano. beach there are not many foreigners but is quite pricey but beautiful beaches too.
Yes, very nice beach. But more important to me, as much as I love swimming in the surf, is the local Big-C, hospital (clinic?) and connectivity by bus station. However, I am a retired guy who rarely drinks. Looking for a place close to Bangkok as my pit stop/storage unit. I like your videos. You sounds like you're from the British Isles but you look totally Swedish.
Walk further south or out in the water and you will find it is a filthy decomposing decay of rothing organic matter...! Sorry to say but I have lived there in the southern end...!
Where tourists come to Chumphon Noi Even though Chumphon has beautiful islands such as Koh Tao and beautiful beaches. She was considered too low, a Hidden Gem, as it was somewhere in between. Where tourists will travel to Phuket or Krabi and only come to Hua Hin. In the past, Hua Hin was a quiet, beautiful place with white beaches and clear sea water. However, when you went there was a stormy season and the sea may not have been worn much. and the whiteness of the beach has decreased.😊🫶❤️🌴🏝🏖🎉🎊
Thumbs up 👍 Jon
Thanks mate
I was there for 15-20 years ago, nice place😊
Nice, can’t image how quiet it was back then :)

You are Thai ?
Yep things do get busier everywhere!

Thanks mate! Was lucky I didn’t get rained on once, I’m planning to do a house update soon :)

The thousands of jellyfish in that clear water is why.
@@le_th_ I've swam there many times - didn't see them or feel them - still a beautiful place
Yeah I’ve added it to one of my most favorite places in Thailand, the jelly fish seemed to only be at one side of the beach at the other there were none
Chomphon ans San Roy Yot are amazing places
Yep I loved Chumpon, perfect beach place :)
Wow, gorgeous area!! Don’t know about the 100tbt small Leo, but that area is breathtaking!
It was 60 baht at the first spot and 49 at the second. Only hua hin was 100
@ Ok, thought he said 100, the 49 is more like it, but 60 is not too bad.
Yep 60 at the first and 49 at second, I’m in Krabi for a bit now and the prices here are insane!
@@jondcanton Right, and I was piss’in and moan’in about 90tbt for a big Chang on Koh Mak last March. Gotta remember it can always be worse🤣

I’m planning a trip here soon. 10:49 I’m guessing ริมเล is short for ริมทะเล ?
Thanks for great content m8, love watching these! Keep it up!
Thanks mate!

Yep I’d recommend this place to people who want an amazing beach that’s quite, perfect for families
50 Bhat Leo, amazing Nice video of a quiet place Thanks
Yep, this is the Thailand I like :)
yep chumpon on my list to visit
👍
Thanks for the location Jon. Chumpon seems like a location where you can disappear
Yeah I get that, I’ve added it to my list of places to go back to
Good day to you Jon. Fabulous scenes. Love to the whole family. IDYLLIC place for the retired with no money worries, but what would you recommend as a small business over there.
Yeah it was an amazing place, hmm not sure on the business I saw one farang owner place but it was dead, not many people at all
Nice travels
Thanks mate

Wow, I don' t see Swedish at all. I see Brit through and through, like a Wallace & Gromit character.
Thanks mate, I only stopped at this location didn’t get chance to check out Chumpon town but it should have all the shops such as big c
Yes mate you’re in Chumpon. Very few tourists go there. Gorgeous white sandy beaches
Noticed you changed your watch from the Swatch to the Seiko!?
Can’t swim in the swatch :)
Walk further south or out in the water and you will find it is a filthy decomposing decay of rothing organic matter...!

Thousands of jellyfish in that water, right up to the shallowest part of the waterline, and that's exactly why there is no one in that water.
But only at certain times of the year ,isnt it ?
They seemed to only be at one side of the beach, at the other end there were none and I went in the sea with no issues
Coming from Australias east coast im always disappointed by Thai "beaches"
SHHHHH Keep quiet!!!!!!! You are destroying the very thing you are seeking.
Right.
Haha yeah I get that :)
no 7 11
If jelly fish is there all the time,no wonder no one is swimming, jelly fish do sting 🐝 making It impossible to enjoy that beautiful sea
