So tell me Scott, what do you do for a living now that you travel full time? Are you living off your savings? Really great apartment for the price, wife and I want to explore Thailand. Is February or March a good time to visit?
March can be rough in Chiang Mai. They burn the fields and it can be quite unpleasant. But sometimes it’s ok. You never know. Even February can be bad. It just depends.

These are very nice owners. I've known them for a long time. There is an electricity bill each month but it's fairly low and not artificially inflated. Seemed very low and reasonable. I don't remember exact numbers -- but very very low relative to the rent cost.

This was the first time I was well into the burning season. I have to say the air quality is very concerning. I would leave at the beginning of March and stay away for a few months. I left a bit later and it was indeed quite bad. I think the sweet spot is leaving in late February and staying away for a few months. The air quality is bad enough , starting in March, that over many years it could really be bad for your health.
