- The Tunisian Simple Stripes Blanket is a colour play for though who love Tunisian. Red Heart Super Saver in self-striping and solids.
Once the first five rows are complete, the pattern has a repeating of 12 rows in all. For 6 rows, it's using just 1 strand of the Super Saver O'Go in self-striping format and the other 6 rows are bouncing between the solid colour Super Saver O'Go and self-striping yarn.
It makes self-striping yarns look almost random but intentionally planned. It's pretty smart.
The tutorial will show you the key concepts of this technique including:
How to fasten off.
How to create the edging so the roll calms down.
How to weave in your tail ends.
How to apply fringe.

I love how Canadian you are, Mikey... please chain X, please do Y. It is so refreshing to hear manners!
Awesome tutorial, as always, and a beautiful blanket.
It's natural for me to say. My parents taught me well and it's stuck with me.
Seriously beautiful and well done.
Thanks.
You’re marvelous! Your teaching style is so understandable. Can’t wait to get a hook and start one of these!! Thanks 😊
I'm so glad I can make sense of this for you.
Can’t wait to try this! You make everything look so easy! Thank you 🥰
Hope you like it!

Great job as always Mikey! I can't wait to try. Thanks for your awesomeness!

I love seeing tunsian patterns. I just ordered myself some O'Go yarn to try.
It works out pretty nice.

It's pretty neat.
It's such a great pattern!! Love, love your videos!!🤩
Thank you! 😊
Oh wow! That’s beautiful! I think I will give this a crack! 🥰
Please do!
Excellent tutorial. I know how to do tunisian simple stitch already but the extra explanations of how to add a new colour and why the ends roll ...Well I didn't know that. You are an excellent teacher. Thank You Mikey.
The designer, Gayle, came up with that. I'm just teaching her pattern.
Love this!
THanks.
Tunisian Simple is my favorite so far. The neutral colors of the O’Go is pretty. Merry Christmas 🎄
Wonderful. Enjoy the festive season ahead.
Well done Mikey! Thanks so much for your clear, detailed and perfect tempo of directions on how to achieve this gorgeous Tunisian crochet afghan. I just started to learn this type of crochet and love it! Please, MORE Tunisian in different stitches and patterns! Thank you again so much for making this video tutorial and for sharing with us!
My pleasure! I have to keep an eye out as Yarnspirations doesn't do many Tunisian patterns that I can use. I'm not a strong enough designer to tap Tunisian yet.
@@TheCrochetCrowd You're so intelligent and talented with the gift of crochet, I have strong confidence you will be a wiz at learning and achieving this goal for learning different aspects of Tunisian crochet! You've already have done this with what I see in this tutorial. Thank you again...
I love you channel. I learn a lot
Thank you Kindly. :)
Well, crap, I have another project on my to-do list! What a problem to have ... a need to get a new hook and new yarn ...
Thanks so much for continuing to educate and inspire!
The problem with the internet is so many amazing patterns and so little time.
Amazing tutorial!
Glad it was helpful!
Great 🤩tutorial
Thank you! Cheers!
Un petit coucou de France pour vous dire que je suis fan de vos inspirations.
Amicalement.
Isabelle.
Merci du Canada et j'espère que même si je parle anglais, les traductions des tutoriels fonctionnent pour vous. Profitez de votre journée. - Thank you from Canada and I hope though i am speaking English the translations on the tutorials are working for you. Enjoy your day.
The scrolling can be easily fixed, just put a damp towel on the project, run an iron on it, smooth & flat.
I love Tunisian. I did Tunisian baby blanket for my grand-nephew
It's nice to know other things eh!
@@TheCrochetCrowd Yes, and I have learned so much from your tutorials. I also do a bit of needle tatting. Learned from a book. Not much free video tutorials on it that I've found. Merry Christmas to you and the family🎅💖🐕🦆🦅🐱😉
This is fantastic Mikey I have been thinking about something tunisian You have such beautiful creations So inspiring Thank you
You are so welcome
Love this I’ve been looking For a Tunisian crochet blanket pattern they are very hard to find
Yeah, there's not very many free patterns to film from unfortunately.
Hey Mikey, I love your Today Zinger. Can u do more Tunisan patterns?
I want to do more but the patterns are limited as there are not many free ones I can legally use.
So happy your not a drummer!😂 And doing clickity clack while crocheting. If I loose count of what row I’m on could I count the vertical bars and this would equal the number of rows completed? Thank you for being so thorough.
I tried that but still lost track and was second guessing myself. You may be better at it.
I did this blanket in forest green and hunter green the color combo came out great. On the other hand my length and width did not wok out like the instructions. I used the larger crochet hook as you advised, and the tutorial techniques were very helpful. I was just disappointed when the pattern measured backwards.
I'm sorry about that Theresa. You can always contact Yarnspirations and give suggestions. It helps the design team to know stuff like this.
@@TheCrochetCrowd I appreciate the suggestion. I just wanted you to be aware while doing the black combo for your next project.
As a beginner which tunisian crochet hook with cable would you recommend? There are so many out there that I am not sure which one to buy? Thank you for sharing this lovely blanket .
You can find one with plastic cords pretty cheap but they are just that cheap. However, if you go to Jimmy Beans Wool online, you can find higher end Tunisian with Extension Wires that are superior. They are much higher in cost but worth every penny depending on your seriousness.
So my first couple passes are always looser then the following rows. Giving it a weird look at the beginning of the project. How can I fix that?
You could reduce your hook size and then switch over if that's happening to you.
Ummm slide down your shaft? (Dirty mind meet gutter) 😂🤣🤪😜
You caught that eh!
