Happy customer here. I was able to successfully repair my TV using the replacement parts I purchased from this seller (shopjimmy).
I did have one hiccup at first, I did not replace the ribbons properly the first time. The effect was that the TV turned on, but the screen was only backlit with no signal to the panel. There also appeared to be a screen flair in the bottom left corner.
I'm absolutely delighted that I was able to repair, rather than replace the TV.

I got my order of LED strips today (Vizio E470I-A0). I installed them in about an hour. The TV someone gave me is now functional for $65! This video helped tremendously. The hardest part was remembering where the screws went...LOL!
    Thanks!!!!!

I just wanted to say thanks for the video. I was able to fix my TV! And honestly the hardest part was getting the dang backing off of the two-sided tape.

Thanks for the great video! I can't believe it, but my Vizio E470i-A0 survived open-heart surgery and it's working great now. A fun challenge and I would not have tried it without this video and your shop.

Didn't even do any troubleshooting beforehand. Symptom: I was seeing the image a little bit but it was very dark, figured the backlights were broken. Ordered a set of LED lights for approx 60$ CDN, followed this video, now my TV works! Thanks!

Fantastic, very helpful tutorial and video. My LG 47LN5700 had a few differences - a 5th white plastic separator was located under a circuit board, but still removable. Great to have the TV back working. Many thanks!

Tom Agoston I’m having the same problem. I was wondering if you know if the leds are 3v or 6v ?

dabradsta72 Hi, sorry the TV Is now closed up and I’m not sure. I bought the replacement LED set from the eBay seller “tvrepairledtester” according to my TV model, and replaced all of them. Cost Less than $40. Just be patient taking the TV apart and sort and save the screws and component parts!

Great instructional vid, I used it to dismantle an LG 47LN5400 model TV. Only a few small differences, but I have dismantled and diagnosed 4 faulty LED strips and when the new ones arrive, hopefully have myself a working TV!

2021 massive thanks! You gave me the courage to save our tv which was deemed as an uneconomical repair by the TV repair man... £35 instead of £700+ for a new TV 👍

Thanks for the awesome vid and the parts. $80 and 2 hrs work definitely beats dropping 400+ on a new one.

Jimmy Thank you for this amazing tutorial. I found a LG 47LN at my apartment dumpster. My first thought was "Okay, I know it's broken but how?" Turned it on, had the flickering lights so I immediately assumed it was the bulbs. I ordered the replacements strips on Ebay for $40 I found a tutorial on UA-cam (Your video) and today, April 6th 2019, I was successfully able to repair my newly acquired television... I did run into a problem with removing the bezel with the LG logo. I cracked it but ended up super gluing it together... But I can't thank you enough for making such an easy to follow video. Cheers!

This video is great! It worked! I purchased the strips from Amazon and took about 3 hours ish. I also tested the LEDs using two 9volt batteries connected in series and got the faulty one.
The TV looks brighter now after the fix!

Thank you so much! I just fixed my LG with this video. One of the LEDs had a good size burn mark of at least an 1.5 inches in diameter and the plastic LED cover had a hole melted in it.

I got my LED's installed on my LG 47LN5400, but I got the light filters out of order (painter's tape failed to stick). Does anyone know which piece goes down first (and rests on the pegs)? The hard plastic filter or the 3 flimsy ones.

Did you ever figure it out? I have a Vizio with the same model panel and put mine together in the wrong order as well. The top and bottom of the screen is darker and not very clear. I hope you can tell me the correct order.

    • @PaulGibbons
      @PaulGibbons 4 роки тому

@@xorange90x Nope. I took my best guess and I don't remember which order I put them in. The picture is actually fine, except when it's a very whitewashed scene you can see faint shadows in between the LED strips. It's passeable.

Thank you for your video! I found a broken 47 inch on the road and from your video , replaced 2 LED strips that were burned out for only $15 in parts!!! When I got the TV back together and hooked it up, it worked perfect---except for when the screen shows any white or bright colors there seems to be a distortion about 8 inches long on the top part of the screen--kinda like a ghost image. Could I have got finger marks on the underside of the screen when I removed it? Or could this be a defect that was already there? Its hardly noticable , but bothers me a little. . So thanks again for your video--It helped me a lot!
