Burgess Falls, located in Burgess Falls State Park, is a series of waterfalls on the Falling Water River. The falls drop in elevation nearly 250 feet in less than a mile, culminating in the spectacular 136-foot drop of the main waterfall. Named after Tom Burgess, a settler in the area in the 19th century, the falls have long been a beloved natural landmark. The park surrounding the falls was established in the 1970s, preserving this natural beauty for future generations to explore and enjoy.
