Pretty sure it wasn't saying that cuz he saw pituo but the fact that he saw Kite had already lost a limb and was bleeding profusely when he summoned the slot. As soon as he gets summoned, that's the first thing he sees. And that's why he makes the comment. As in, "idk what's happening but by seeing your condition, seems like you're in a bad spot". Something like that. And he was getting weaker due to blood loss but still managed to fight pituo for 8 hours in that condition. If that isn't badass idk what is
My personal theory is that he uses it to "spite" Crazy Slots into unknowingly giving him a good roll depending on the situation. If you look closely, before rolling, Kite summons Crazy Slots and allows him to see what's happening first before giving him a weapon. By always saying "bad roll", he spites Crazy Slots to always give him a good weapon the next time he's summoned. In a way, he's found a loophole for the "random number" restriction he set upon himself.
Yeah he would definitely be my favorite if they gave him a lil more screen time, i mean at least he’s still alive. To answer your question, it was so gon could kill pitou.

Killua one of the best designed characters in Anime for me. Love how even someone as skilled as him is humble and smart enough to read the situation and obey Kites commands without hesitation even if it meant losing Kite. It adds to the already amazing atmosphere HxH has, which is that any of the characters could be killed off at any moment and it makes scenes like these so fkn dope!

@Moebius Shitting your pants is the ultimate showing of a rational exit. "ehhhhh, my body released the contents of my bowls in their entirety, completely unprovoked. I'm catching STRONG, we should leave vibes, Gon. " imo. 😂
a detail i noticed was that when kite said "hurry the small talk" to crazt slots, the centaur chimera ant thought that kite was talking to him and charged. a nice little thing
Afaik, the number kinda depends on the situation Kite is in. So perhaps by calling it a "bad roll", he complains about the situation that lead to it, and not the roll itself
no bad rolls by meaning that the rolls are actually random, and are powerful by this restriction to not decide what to get. this is how strong hatsus work as far as we know- by setting up conditions/restrictons for power or specific effects like kurapika or chrollo
There's a theory floating around there that Kite calling it a bad roll every single time, with one notable exception, is to game the randomness of the roll, this would also explain the necessity for it being a sentient nen, as something like knuckles APR can't be, essentially negged and isn't required for it to act optimally, because it doesn't think for itself.
@@SupersquigiThe odds are artificially against him in order to make the weapons stronger, and he says “bad roll” every time he gets a good roll to bait the slots into giving him better rolls without losing the nen restriction boost
I love the design at last. The clown relax the intense atmosphere, then appear a number and weapon(?) that never appeal before give some hope that he may get out the situation with the unknown ability, after that he still die anyway give you desperation, but finally you are told that he’s fine. That’s a good emotional roller coaster
Years later, our emotions and feelings about kite still remains. Hope they update the manga and give the "new" kite more screen time but it still wouldn't be the same 😭
The new kite thing never sat well with me. Felt like kind of a cop out from the mangaka. Either let the man live or let him die in peace. Why the whole "oh BTW kite is a little girl now, technically its a different person but she has the memories of kite sooo it's kite".... Like come on, especially for a kite fan like me, this just felt like a cop out.
@@zhin8294 huge agree, unless there's something different or a subplot revealed in these recent chapters (dont think so) which would add some sort of genuine reason why he had to be reincarnated
First I wish Kite would've gotten more screen time he was such a cool and interesting character. I feel like he was wasted. Second I wish we could've seen what all the crazy slot items were.
GUYS! I just realized that Kaito's technique explaining itself when summoned is probably some condition that he put in to make it stronger. Because he gives important information about himself plus time to the enemy react
Actually in the fight against Pitou he does not complain about the weapon, they even put a silent moment for us to understand it It maybe means that this is actually a good roll, perhaps because this weapon allows him to reincarnate?
He tricks the crazy slots to give him the best rolls depending on the situation by saying "bad roll" always. Getting it used to Kite's dissatisfaction, even when it's the right one, he says it so the roll would always be biased towards his side to giving him the best roll out of the situation and Kite figures out by himself how to use it in that time. Therefore every time he uses the crazy slots he always gets the best roll in his dire need, because he has learned to manipulate it the way he wants it to work and the more damaging he is because of his condition for summoning it.
It's really fun seeing the Psychotic Clown to match Kite's calm/stoic/reserved personality. Like, it doesn't overstay its welcome, it's always just the right amount of crazy. And that's was something that Kite had to specifically design.
#3 Weapon is a baby wand by the way it's shaped. So when Ging mentioned Kite was reincarnated... the baby wand had to have activate a certain ability to reach reincarnation. My guess is that the ability most likely needed to have an activation requirement of death to work.
It was most likely to contrast his personality since he's usually very stoic/serious, so they decided to give him an annoying, talkative clown, who clowns on him.
I like to think it's because he designed the ability when he was much younger and thought it was fun, and now that he's older he's stuck with it and finds it an annoying burden.
I do not see this that way, since some restrictions can raise the power of your nem, Kite find a way to have multiple abilities, some of then very powerful indeed, with the only restriction of not knowing what will appear, but we can see that even the most funny looking one has some kind of inner power, this can be a great vantage in any fight since someone will have to known him very well to figure out all possibilities of his nem abilities.
I think that with the restriction of kaitos abillity of depending on a nen beast to choose his weapon he says "bad roll" despite the weapon being the perfect thing for each situation because he wants to sort of make a mental trainning to the clown making him feel bad and consequencially he will allways try and please his master by making the best rolls for each situation.
I always thought it was just more like a grim irony that he'd say bad roll even though he usually got a weapon very appropriate for the situation, so then the one time he gets what appears to be a genuinely bad roll for the worst possible situation, there's nothing he can say now that he knows he's probably not walking away alive from pitou.
i just realized at 4:00 even crazy slots says "lets see if you get a good roll" implying he also knows there are "bad rolls" which he earlier gets mad when kite says bad roll xD
Absolutely wild to think chimera ants went from basically mutant fire ants in the first episode they appeared in to a force so dreadful the only thing that could put a stop to them being a nuclear bomb and radiation fallout
I was sooo hoping that Gon would've been able to save Kite. I was sad when I found out he was really dead. His Silent Waltz was, in my opinion, one of the best scenes in the series. Glad he was reincarnated!!🤌🥲
Its not the same... I want the old, real kite back. That "resurrection" is not it. Either give back the real kite or let him stay dead in peace. This girl kite thing is such a cop out.
Actually He wasn't already dead,Pitou lied and could have saved him but because of the butterfly chimera who said that they already had the little girl Pitou didn't find had any reason to save Kite..
The crazy slot ability of Kite isn't actually random at all. It picks a weapon very suitable to the current situation of Kite. Probably something connected to Kite's state of mind. The scythe was rolled because they were surrounded, the gun was rolled because it would be the easiest way to kill the ants underground, and the wand to "survive" from Pitou.
What if the reason Crazy Slots was made sentient was so that Kite would get the nen boost from making the weapon random, but it would be overriden by the sentient Crazy Slots who would probably want to give his user the best weapon to protect themselves and ensure that he can continue living aswell.
I think the condition for Kite’s ability to be so powerful is that he doesn’t get to pick, AND he never gets what he wants. I think him fighting with the clown is all part of how he conditioned his ability to be the strongest possible. Think abt it; he’s always irritated but always decimates the opponents (unless he’s missing an arm). I’ve tried looking this up but couldn’t find anything so yeah that’s my theory haha.
@@clownworld3382 You probably heard that Fans have noticed the obvious Trend that Specialist-Nen never seems to be directly harmful to anyone; and i just agree with that (just wanted to mention it). But i did notice yet another thing. It seems pretty definitive that Specialist-Nen ALWAYS seems to 'layer above' some other Type. I mean, Kurapika 'enhances' his Nen-Efficiency, Meleoron 'transmutes' Invisiblity (while the only other time we see Camouflage is when Morel; in the same Story-Arc; camouflages himself with Grass via Transmutation), and Pakunodas Ability can only be described as a Form/Variant of Telepathy. And we all know which Nen-Type is heavily associated with Telepathy and Signal-Receiving: EMISSION. And this list goes on and on and can be applied to literally everyone. I think people have not noticed but you can do 10 Things with Nen: The normal 5 things plus what i call special-enhance, special-emit, special-manipulate, special-transmute and special conjure. I'm not a professional Speech-Maker, so my explanation may have been lackluster, so please feel free to ask questions. I never believed that Chrollo has the 'formless, shapeless' ability to 'steal stuff' and then also conjures a Book just to 'enchant it' with his said ability. That never made sense to me, but ok, Conjuration is right next to him, so it was kinda logical though odd. BUT if you want one giant Evidence for all i said today, i present to you a babe... named Neon Nostrade. She doesnt even know Nen and youre telling me she is 'emitting' an (ugly) Nen-Beast, making it 'manipulate' her Hand into doing something 'special'? THREE Types? From a rather simplistic Nen-User that isnt aware of Nen? No way. No way. No, instead, it seems to me that Chrollos Ability IS 'to summon a book that allows Ability Stealing' and Neons Specialist-Ability IS 'Fortune Telling in the form of a nen-beast manipulating her'. Means that both are pure Specialization-Abilitys but one can be forgiven to think it's other Types. And i legit believe that is the Point of Specialization.
@@clownworld3382 For those confused about Nen (as is natural cause it's complex): Check out 'New World Review', the channel known to (and i quote Many here) "keep the Fanbase alive by Himself". I myself can be asked too though and i recommend so when you want to know a Thing about Nen or Nen-Technicalities, because New World Review does not often answer Comments. Also: For those that wanna try make their own Hatsu, i have an Advice to make: Use a Dice. I mean, Nen is about making the Best of what you have; you have to think carefully about every Drop of Aura you have. And thats why i recommend to use Hisokas Personality-Test To decide on your Aura-Type and then throw a dice three times To decide on ‚Aura-Amount’ and ‚Memory Space’ and ‚Talent’. I mean, if these things are just undetermined, i see a issue with that, if you know what i mean.
Thinking about it from the context of a person being able to strengthen their Nen ability based on the number and severity of restrictions placed on it, it's actually a really cleverly designed power: 1. It talks, loudly and annoyingly. This is a big restriction, since it ruins stealth and seriously gets on the nerves of the user. But because Kite only ever uses Crazy Slots in situations where he needs the help (which isn't too common given his nonviolent profession) it usually comes up in at a point where a seasoned fighter like him can ignore the talk and didn't need stealth anyway. 2. The randomization. Honestly, I'm not super sure about this one. He says it's random, the clown says its random, but of the four rolls we've seen three of them were great for the situation, and one we didn't get to see (if you believe the mace is his "not dying" roll, that actually makes a 4-for-4 success rate), which implies he's either really lucky, was on a lucky streak, or it isn't truly random. I've heard a theory that Kite actually added a restriction that the clown is trying to screw him over and he's just paying lip service to it being a bad roll so Crazy Slots keeps pulling it up in similar situations. Unless what we saw in the anime was just a lucky streak, however, either way it's a strong restriction that flows well with his abilities. 3. Have to use the weapon before dropping it. Again, pretty bad if you have any intent of using this weapon as anything other than a pure combat tool, but as a researcher Kite can pretty much specialize the power to violence only, since he doesn't need a unique power for any other sort of situation. 4. Windup time. Crazy Slots take a bit to make some remarks and spin before any weapon comes out, which in a battle is pretty bad. However, by making Crazy Slots a wisecracking floating clown, Kite elimates most of the downside, as it's such a non-sequitur compared to the rest of his appearance and behavior that most opponents would be stunned, and the ones who aren't Kite can most likely avoid until it's finished spinning. And, conveniently, Kite happens to be a speed-focused hunter with a very good detection range who very rarely tanks hits compared to evasion. 5. Weapon design. Put simply, the weapons are hilariously unwieldy. His guns are pistol-gripped with stocks several times the size of the barrel, his scythe has a blade the same size as the handle which curves so hard it forms a parabola running parallel to the same handle, and his mace is so small I mistook it for a magical-girl style wand on first viewing. Aside from adding to the factor of catching the opponent off-guard like before, it also means that Kite's weapons can't be taken from him in any way that matters, and it also means there's a level of uncertainty as to what the weapon is supposed to do before he uses it. Overall, it makes perfect sense someone like Ging helped design the power, because at first glance it looks stupid but looking further into it makes it clear how well-suited it is for Kite.
@@pamelotms5867 I'm honestly not entirely sure if it's that the scythe has extra restrictions, or if Kite straight up couldn't work out any scythe techniques other than that one with how unwieldy the weapon is
A theory I heard before that I suppose I kinda like is that even though he always says "bad roll" that the weapon he gets almost always calls perfectly for the situation at hand. But with only getting to see 3 weapons I think, and a 4th but not in action, we don't have to much to work with. Maybe with his reincarnated body we'll get to see it in action.
Plenty of characters in this series deserves a full length battle. Although I love this series it's one of my pet peeves. Hello, kite fight? Pitou fight? Full chrollo fight? Hisoka (he just fights fries)?? illumi??? Zeno???? Heck even killua didn't have a full fight with anyone in the chimera ant arc. Suddenly palm got the screentime & killua just broke down crying
the fact he made pitou consider him a genuinely fun opponent, really shows you how impressive he is. pitou literally took a smack from netero’s hatsu and didn’t have a scratch on her
She didnt have good judgement i mean she couldnt dodge an attack meant to swat her away not even hurt her by netero she also never got a good fight out of kite since he literally loses an arm instantly and then bro gives up since he revives himself with 3 later he probably at full power couldve done a lot more
The no.3 inside the crazy slot is a wand, thats why kite reincarnate as a girl. Its not my own opinion, Ging actually explained to Gon that kite can reincarnate if the last weapon he use is no.3 before he die. If we notice neferpitou didnt feed kites body to the queen, it also means that kite's spirit transfer to a new born baby inside the queen. I cant imagine how strong kite after he gained Post Mortem Nen(Nen after Death) and Nutrients from the queen. kite will probably one of the strongest character in s4 ❤️.

@@sasu4642 he wasn't nerfed, Hes just saying that cause other way stronger opponents appeared, and also the fact that when he was about to fight pitou he got his arm cut off
Kite kind of started a weird trend in Hunter x Hunter where a characters will be said or implied to have an arsenal of about 7-9 powers, but only use abt 2 of them b4 they're killed off or never seen again. See Tsubone and Pokkle for examples afterwards.
that trick is used a lot in fighting games, when you choose random, you have an edge over your opponent, because you have surprise by your side not only that, but when you are forced to use a random character , not only you are forced to improve in the situation, but the fresh and different set of movements gives you some fascination, that makes the fight more attractive
I like to think crazy gives kite what he *needs* nothing he wants. I know he said it's random, but he got the aoeweapin for the large group, a range weapon for someone physically stronger than him, and and the same ranged weapon for use against against many small targets
Everybody be talking about how kite never said bad roll in the last clip but never mention how crazy slots said "let's see if you get a good roll" showing that it acknowledges that there are bad rolls.
Incidentally, in Japan, "four" and "death" are pronounced the same. That's why 4 is said to be a bad omen as it means death. So, I wonder what the 3 that comes before death represents...
My theory is that crazy slots made with the high probability of giving the user a bad roll for the situation. Kite changed his perception of what a bad weapon for the battle is, so crazy slots is now forced to give him a "bad roll". So he was able to hack his nen making him one of the most powerful nen users. Against pitou his weapon was a good roll, but what was really a bad roll, so he was doomed. And when you're already dead, you have nothing left to fear. People seem to think that kites revival had something to do with his last roll but hes not much different from the other ants who were revived just a more memories.
do you how good this ability is crazy slot works is by rolling a random number but kite cheated it with a sentient roller(the clown) to assest the situation of the nen user to suit the situation.

My theory is kite always said bad roll. To upset the little nen guy. " I have no bad rolls" and from that he went to " let's see if you get a good roll this time" I belive kite was saying it was bad to try to get the guy to always give him somthing better. To try to get that good job out of kite. Thus kite was getting the best weapon for the job most of the time. Because lucky slots wanted to be praised. Honestly its a little cruel but whatever tips rng in your favor with a ability like that would help.
I'mma guess the higher the number the better the roll. Although the crazy slots weapons were all good, the higher numbers probably had better optimization and overall adaptability to each of Kite's situations. Therefore his low rolls could only be used inconveniently.

bad rolls reflects the fact Kite likes to gamble. touching pitou's en was a gamble that he did not turn out so well.

Wrong.
@@saltyxoatmeal9100It's a theory, it can't be right or wrong if there's no one confirming it.
Kite is literally the coolest character in HxH
(Personally, his scythe is the best roll for me)
It's really fun seeing the Psychotic Clown to match Kite's calm/stoic/reserved personality.
The activation is the desire to protect someone.
They really gave one of the most badass characters in the series the most ridiculous Nen ability lol
ピトーとカイトの戦闘見たかった。でも描かれなかったからこそゴンに共感できる部分あるな。
カイトが負けるわけないとか両腕あったら勝ててたかもとかね
I think that with the restriction of kaitos abillity of depending on a nen beast to choose his weapon he says "bad roll" despite the weapon being the perfect thing for each situation because he wants to sort of make a mental trainning to the clown making him feel bad and consequencially he will allways try and please his master by making the best rolls for each situation.
Mf is guilt tripping his own nen
I always thought it was just more like a grim irony that he'd say bad roll even though he usually got a weapon very appropriate for the situation, so then the one time he gets what appears to be a genuinely bad roll for the worst possible situation, there's nothing he can say now that he knows he's probably not walking away alive from pitou.

Head canon
0:01 it's crazy how in ep 76 the 99 version was still in early greed island arc

Good theory
I think it says in the manga that his slots adapt to the situation he’s in
What if the reason Crazy Slots was made sentient was so that Kite would get the nen boost from making the weapon random, but it would be overriden by the sentient Crazy Slots who would probably want to give his user the best weapon to protect themselves and ensure that he can continue living aswell.

@@loturzelrestaurant I'm a bit late but I would like to hear those secrets please, if you still remember
@@clownworld3382 You probably heard that Fans have noticed the
obvious Trend that Specialist-Nen never seems to be directly harmful to anyone; and i just agree with that (just wanted to mention it).
But i did notice yet another thing. It seems pretty definitive that Specialist-Nen ALWAYS seems to 'layer above' some other Type. I mean, Kurapika 'enhances' his Nen-Efficiency, Meleoron 'transmutes' Invisiblity (while the only other time we see Camouflage is when Morel;
in the same Story-Arc;
camouflages himself with Grass via Transmutation), and Pakunodas Ability can only be described as a Form/Variant of Telepathy.
That never made sense to me, but ok, Conjuration is right next to him,
so it was kinda logical though odd.
And i legit believe that is the Point of Specialization.

and ‚Memory Space’ and ‚Talent’.

Kinda curious about others of his slot numbers, potential a sword,a shield,....

@@kestanecihasanpubg man, I've never thought of that possibility.
Never thought Char was a gambling addict.
Thinking about it from the context of a person being able to strengthen their Nen ability based on the number and severity of restrictions placed on it, it's actually a really cleverly designed power:
Overall, it makes perfect sense someone like Ging helped design the power, because at first glance it looks stupid but looking further into it makes it clear how well-suited it is for Kite.
that’s a pretty good analysis. I didn’t even consider how the personality of the clown could be a restriction lmao
Also the scythe has some aditional restrictions
@@pamelotms5867 I'm honestly not entirely sure if it's that the scythe has extra restrictions, or if Kite straight up couldn't work out any scythe techniques other than that one with how unwieldy the weapon is
@@aldar8240 why not both

A theory I heard before that I suppose I kinda like is that even though he always says "bad roll" that the weapon he gets almost always calls perfectly for the situation at hand. Kite changed his perception of what a bad weapon for the battle is, so crazy slots is now forced to give him a "bad roll".
